(Minghui.org) I'm a doctor who was fortunate to begin practicing Falun Gong in 1996. I did the exercises, studied the teachings, and, together with fellow practitioners, introduced the practice to others. Master cleansed our physical bodies as well as our minds, and we became healthy and free of illnesses. Words cannot describe the happiness that we practitioners gained through the practice.

I have now been practicing Falun Gong for 16 years. I follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my words and deeds. I respect gods and Buddhas, am considerate of others, and share all my medical knowledge with my students. I also talk to them about the importance of being a virtuous doctor. When my patients are poor, I try my best to prescribe medications that are inexpensive yet effective. I feel that because I'm a practitioner, I'm looked after by Master and therefore my patients will benefit, too, since the Buddha light illuminates everywhere.

On May 12, 2008, the Sichuan earthquake took place. That afternoon, I was taking a nap at home. Suddenly the whole house started shaking. People were screaming and running out of the building. I only had one thought: "I'm a practitioner and only Master can save people in times of danger." I quickly sat in front of Master's portrait in the lotus position and asked for His help. My family urged me to leave quickly. I put Master's portrait in a bag and did not take anything else.

I rushed to work, where the hospital staff were transferring patients to a safe place. I went to see the hospital director and said, “You are the director. If in times of danger you lead everyone to sincerely recite the words, 'Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good', gods and Buddhas will show their compassion and save the lives of all in the hospital. Do you believe me?” The director quickly answered, “Yes, I believe!”

At that time a patient suffering with an ectopic pregnancy hemorrhage was in the operating room, waiting to undergo surgery to stop the bleeding. Otherwise her life would be in danger. What should we do? The director and I thought that it was more important to save the patient. I decided to do the operation immediately. Preparations for the surgery were done, and the patient was anesthetized. After her abdomen was opened up, I could see that one fallopian tube was ruptured and bleeding and the other was blocked. The patient had never given birth before, and if she was not treated she would have difficulty getting pregnant in the future.

Just then we were told there would be aftershocks around 6 p.m., and we had to hurry and finish up. The staff in the operation room panicked and said, “Just cut off the affected part of the fallopian tube and stop the bleeding. Don't try to reopen the blocked fallopian tube. If there is another tremor, it will be very dangerous.”

I was very calm and said, “Don't be afraid. We are doing a good thing. If we do not clear up the blocked fallopian tube and the other is removed, can you imagine how troubled the patient will be if she cannot get pregnant? Besides, she will also suffer the pain from having to undergo a second operation. Everyone, please listen to me. Sincerely repeat, 'Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.' Falun Dafa's Master will protect us and the earthquake will not happen during the operation. Don't worry.”

We successfully finished the procedure, and there were no aftershocks. After the operation, the patient recovered very well and a year later, she returned to the hospital and gave birth to a healthy, adorable baby uneventfully.

Incidents like this have often happened when I operate. The anesthetist and medical assistants who work with me have learned to recite “Falun Dafa is good” when they run into dangerous situations. Watched over by compassionate Master, those whom I have operated on have also benefited from the Buddha light that illuminates everywhere. That operation turned out successfully and the result was positive. Certain difficult-to-treat illnesses have been cured, and even the director of the hospital was moved. He said that I was capable of repressing evil. I have told him repeatedly that this is because I practice Falun Gong and am looked after by my Master. Those around me will also benefit from my practice because the Buddha light illuminates everywhere!
