(Minghui.org) On October 1, 2013, the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP held a rally at King's Road Playground in the North Point area of Hong Kong.
The rally was held in commemoration of the 147 million Chinese people who have announced their withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and denounced the Party's crimes against humanity, including harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
The event fell on the same day as the CCP's “National Day”—the anniversary of when Chinese Communist forces seized power over China in 1949.
The rally was well attended by human rights activists, scholars, and politicians, who drove home the point that “National Day” was not a day of celebration, since it symbolizes the increasing control that the Chinese regime has over every aspect of life in the former British colony.
“So, faced with this October 1st day, we actually don’t have a national celebration,” declared Richard Tsoi, chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movement.
“Instead, we just feel that the country is dying; that there is actually nothing worth celebrating. To say the country is dying, it is not just today, but every day the land of China is dying.
“Since 1999, the Chinese regime has been persecuting Falun Gong. Over the past 14 years, Falun Gong practitioners and human rights lawyers, such as Gao Zhisheng, have been persecuted. The persecution is still going on. Thus, we have nothing to celebrate today.”
Mr. Tsoi said that there were numerous protests in China and that the Party cannot put a lid on every one of them. “Many people are awakening, and as the numbers grow, it is inevitable that truth will prevail,” he said.
Several speeches focused on the Party's crimes against humanity, including the persecution of Falun Gong, while others focused on how the regime has virtually destroyed Chinese traditional culture, killing over 80 million Chinese people in the process.
The speakers also showed their strong support for the 147 million Chinese people who have already quit the Communist regime and its affiliated organizations.

Hu Jia, a human rights activist in Beijing, commented in a prerecorded speech: “Since October 1, 64 years ago, the Party has been trampling on China, and many Chinese people have been tortured. Countless people have died an untimely death.
“The Communist Party is going to collapse. Chinese people—especially officials—please renounce the regime to ensure yourself a good future. This is the only way you will not become an accomplice to its crimes.”
Bao Tong, the former secretary to Zhao Ziyang, who once served as the premier of China and general secretary of the CCP, said in a prerecorded speech: “The world knows who is persecuting Falun Gong. [Jiang Zemin] has committed the most grievous of crimes against humanity by launching this persecution against Falun Gong.
“I object to the Party's trampling upon and bullying others. Whoever treats others inhumanely is himself against humanity!”
Sun Wenguang, a retired professor from Shandong University, said in his prerecorded speech: “I support this Hong Kong march, because it represents the voices of many disenchanted mainland Chinese people.” Richard Tsoi (top right), Leung Kwok-hung (bottom left), Tsang Kin-Shing (top left), and Fung Chi-wood (bottom right) spoke at the rally.
Leung Kwok-hung, a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, said, “If you don't speak out when Falun Gong practitioners are being deprived of their rights, sooner or later you will lose your rights, too!”
Mr. Lam Wing-yin, a member of the Sai Kung District Council, said, “We absolutely protest this crime of live organ harvesting in China. We believe that the Communist Party will be punished by Heaven; the CCP will collapse!”
Pastor Fung Chi-wood, a former member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, commented, “Since the Party came to power, it has intentionally and systemically destroyed Chinese traditional culture.
“I hope that Shen Yun Performing Arts will one day perform in Hong Kong and China. This will give Chinese people a chance to see an authentic Chinese art performance.”
Attorney Teresa Chu calls on the UN to help stop the CCP's forced organ harvesting in China
Teresa Chu, who is both an attorney for Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) in the Asian region and a spokesperson of the Taiwan Falun Gong Human Rights Lawyer Group, also attended the rally.
She announced: “Since mid-June to October 1 of this year, over 443,843 people from 32 countries in Europe, America, Australia, and Asia have signed the DAFOH global petition form, calling on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to help stop the CCP's practice of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
“The UN cannot ignore the genocide that is taking place in China, nor can it ignore former president of China Jiang Zemin's crimes against humanity and the torture he has inflicted on millions of innocent people. He should be sued and investigated as soon as possible, along with Zhou Yongkang and Bo Xilai!”
After the rally, the Divine Land Marching Band lead a procession of more than 800 practitioners from King's Road Playground to the China Liaison Office.
Among the many pieces that the band played were: "Falun Dafa Is Good," "Drums and Trumpets Shake the World," "The Fa Rectifies the Universe," and "Delivering Treasure."
The march was grand and peaceful and caught the attention of many Chinese tourists, shoppers, and passersby. Many people snapped photos of the event, while others gave it two thumbs-up.

Practitioners expose the CCP's crimes, shocking many Chinese tourists.
During Hong Kong Golden Week—a week-long Chinese holiday that is also celebrated on October 1—over six million mainland Chinese tourists converged on Hong Kong to shop and sightsee.
When the practitioners marched through several busy areas in the city, hundreds of thousands of tourists from the mainland saw their banners decrying the CCP's live organ harvesting crimes. Many of them were shocked and awed by the practitioners' procession.
“There is a market for human organs, so it is understandable that some people in China would want to capitalize on that market,” said a Chinese man after seeing the practitioners' banners condemning the CCP's crime of live organ harvesting.
“We know that some people do traffic in organs and that some death-row inmates have their organs removed. However, killing Falun Gong practitioners for their organs is too cruel; it's evil!”

While Falun Gong practitioners Yang Xiaolan and Haiyan distributed informational materials about quitting the Party, many mainland tourists encouraged them.
One person said, “We all know about quitting the CCP. We already did it online. We support Falun Gong.”
“Many Chinese tourists quit the Party today,” Haiyan noted. “As soon as we suggested that they quit, they immediately agreed. I think seeing our march had something to do with it. Many people know that the Party is evil and agree with Falun Gong.”
