Greetings, revered Master!
Greetings, my fellow practitioners!
I would like to share my experience of stepping out from illegal imprisonment with a firm belief in Teacher and Dafa.
I was once arrested by policemen from the national security office. They searched reports about me on the Minghui website, one of which exposed details and photos about me being persecuted in a forced labor camp. When I wrote this report, which later was published on Minghui.org, my heart was calm and pure with the sincere wish that these policemen would stop committing crimes and not follow the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). After they read this article, they were silent.
Later, they went to a room where another practitioner was detained and told her, “We will do nothing to your fellow practitioner (they meant me). She has suffered from torture; thus, she had every reason to appeal (meaning exposing the facts on the Minghui website).” Since then, the policemen from the national security office never appeared again. Instead, they appointed two policemen from the affiliated office to watch me and told them, “Watch out what you do. She likes to expose it to the media if you torture her.” I clarified the truth about Falun Gong to these two policemen and they listened silently. One of them was very accepting and finally, I asked him for the name of the head of the national security office who persecuted practitioners. He told me the name after his companion had left. He told me that he remembered “Dafa is good” and asked, “I don’t persecute you, do I?”
During my detention in the forced labor camp, I went on a hunger strike. Consequently, I was force-fed. At that time, my attachment to fear surfaced and I immediately recited Teacher’s poem, “What’s There to Fear” from “Hong Yin II”. After reciting it less than ten times, I no longer was fearful. One time, a practitioner told me that she had been tortured there for five years. I thought to myself, I have been here for two months, how come I am still unable to get out of here? I then instantly realized: How could I have such a thought? Was I disappointed or had I lost confidence in Teacher? I eliminated this thought and started reciting the Fa,
“Those who enlighten, transcending the world, are revered
Those who earnestly cultivate, sincerely believe in reaching consummation
In the midst of great tribulation, one should be steadfast
The will to advance wholeheartedly cannot be altered”
(“Steadfast” from Hong Yin II)
I recited this many times until the bad thought was eliminated.
I had a dream that night in which that practitioner and I were riding on the same bus. I wanted to get off the bus even before my destination, but that practitioner didn’t want to get off, even though the bus had passed her destination. I realized that our compassionate Teacher was showing me our differences. In reality, that practitioner wanted to stay in the labor camp to oppose the persecution, whereas I wanted to get out of there to validate Dafa. In fact, my attachment of “wanting to get out” was strong and “validating Dafa” was secondary. I then recited Teacher’s words in “Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference” (April 20, 2003):
“That was because she reached that point through cultivation and truly arrived at that realm--"Now that you've arrested me, I haven't thought at all about going back. Now that I've come here, I've come to validate the Fa." So the evil was scared.”
Had I not thought about “me” and eliminated the “self”, and instead only had the thought of “validating the Fa”, I would have reached a new realm. I suddenly felt very relaxed and felt that Teacher was truly there watching over me. My surrounding environment became relaxed as well. When I sent forth righteous thoughts, I no longer had either pursuit or anger, and only eliminated evil beings with compassion. Officials of the forced labor camp sent two policemen to torture us. On the first day when they arrived, they held my arms when they force-fed me. Keeping calm, I sent forth righteous thoughts and my fellow practitioner clarified the facts to them. Afterwards, they no longer participated in force-feedings. One time after force-feeding me, the female guards left. One of the policemen came to me and stood by me for a while. He felt very sorry. He took out tissue paper and cleaned up my face and hair (my face and hair were covered with corn starch).
Several days later, one of the policemen and a group of female guards took me to an examination in the prison hospital. They first needed to fill out some paperwork in another location. He told them, “You can go. I will stay here and watch her.” After they left, he told me, “I read the confidential document issued from the authorities. It states that all Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to leave the forced labor camp, even if they die. It is all right to torture them to death.” (Later I learned that he wanted to tell me about one practitioner who had been tortured to death there two days earlier and the labor camp had blocked the news). He told me, “I can see the magnificence of Falun Gong through you. However, what if your life is in danger? I will be happy for you if you can get out of here.” At that moment, we could hear noise outside and he said, “They are coming back. Don’t say anything. Just think about what to do next.” I said to him in my mind, “The document from the Chinese Community Party won’t work for us. Everything is under Teacher’s control. You have empathy and help practitioners, thus you are positioning yourself. I hope you will stay away from the persecution and have a bright future.”
One evening several days later, lightning and thunder roared above the labor camp. I was lying in bed (too weak to get up). When I closed my eyes, I saw Teacher descending from the sky with one palm in front of his chest (it is the same scene as that in Shen Yun Performing Arts, which I watched several years later). Teacher was truly watching over us. I was released the next day. I didn’t sign the “transformation form”, nor was I “on bail for medical treatment”. I didn’t pay one cent to the officials of the forced labor camp. They gave me a note saying, “This person is uncooperative. Based on her behavior, she is given six days of leave. She will return after that.” I went home and have been there since then.
Later, the practitioner who had still been at the labor camp told me, “The two policemen both learned the truth about Falun Gong. One of them withdrew from the CCP and no longer participated in the persecution. The policeman who was afraid of me being in danger became more confident after learning that I was released. He also encouraged other practitioners in the labor camp by saying, “The Lotus flower is born out of mud but is not contaminated by it.” Soon, he was assigned to another job and left the job that involved persecuting Falun Gong.”
My understanding is that no matter what kind of tribulations we encounter, we need to firmly believe in Dafa and Teacher. Teacher is truly watching over us. It is as Teacher said,
“Your body lies in prison—don’t be sorrowful, don’t be sad
With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, Fa is here
Calmly reflect on how many attachments you have
As you get rid of human mentality, evil is naturally defeated”
(“Don’t Be Sad” from “Hong Yin II”.
Thank you Teacher!
