Mr. Li Aige's Family Suppressed after Broadcasting the Truth of Falun Gong

September 18, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Aige is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wang Village, Xiong County, Hebei Province. His entire family has benefited from his practice. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, it co-opted all its media to denounce Falun Gong, and practitioners were deprived their freedom of speech. In 2002, Li Aige participated in broadcasting the truth about Falun Gong on TV, and was sentenced to 15 years in the Baoding No. 1 Prison.

Li Aige suffered both mentally and physically in prison. He developed symptoms of high blood pressure and heart disease, but the prison would not release him.

On the evening of October 29, 2011, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The prison then notified his family and forced them to sign a statement absolving the prison of responsibility for his condition. Only then was he approved for medical treatment outside the prison. Mr. Li's wife, Wen Aixia, signed the statement reluctantly, but she was eager to get him out of the prison so he could be treated.

Mr. Li Aige recovered somewhat after coming home, but people in the Bureau of Justice in Xiong County harassed them twice at home.

On May 5, 2012, Mr. Li suddenly fell ill and spent 45 days in the hospital, which cost 80,000 yuan. He has now become bedridden and dependent on others.. His family is under great financial stress. His wife had to take care of him, so she could not go to work to support the family. All this suffering was caused by the CCP detaining him for nine years.

Entire Family Benefits from Dafa

In 1996, Li Aige and his wife, Wen Aixia, started practicing Falun Dafa. Li Aige eliminated his bad habits, including fighting, drinking alcohol, and smoking. In 1994, Wen Aixia suffered a postpartum hemorrhage. She was later told she would not be able to get pregnant again. Her family was very worried about her. But after she practiced Falun Gong, she recovered her health, and she could do all kinds of work. In 1998, she gave birth to a lovely boy. The entire family was grateful for Falun Dafa.

Mr. Li and Ms. Wen Persecuted and Detained, Parents Passed Away

On July 20, 1999, the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong. On the evening of January 31, 2001, a group of police officers broke into Mr. Li's home. Ms. Wen was doing business outside the home. The police tricked Li by telling him that he would be returned home after answering some questions at the police station. They took him away, leaving the couple's two-year-old son at home alone.

Mr. Li's parents were anxious when they found out about this. The boy was crying and asking for his father. After making inquiries, it was learned that Mr. Li had been secretly sent to Baoding Forced Labor Camp because he practiced Falun Gong. After he was arrested, his son cried for his father every night in his dreams, and Mr. Li's parents worried about him and got weaker. When Ms. Wen brought their son to the forced labor camp to visit him, the child was very happy and called him “Papa.” The meeting was soon over, but their son refused to leave, asking his father to come home and to hug him, and he cried that he wanted his father back. Everyone cried, including Li Aige.

Li Aige was released on October 8, 2001, but Li Yanjun, secretary of the Political and Legal Committee in Daying, kept sending people to harass him. In order to avoid this harassment, Mr. Li's family was forced to become homeless.

In 2002, Li Aige and other Falun Gong practitioners broadcast the truth of Falun Gong from a mountain in Laishui, but they were all arrested by police from Beijing, Baoding, Xushui, and Laishui. Li Aige was beaten and fainted from head wounds. When he came to, he had been detained in Baixiaguan Detention Center in Xushui. He was later illegally sentenced to 15 years in prison. During that time, people from the 610 Office and Political and Legal Committee tried to arrest Ms. Wen. They went to her mother's home, her brother's home, and her three sisters' homes to search, and threatened them to coerce them into revealing Ms. Wen's whereabouts.

The father could not withstand the pressure, got sick, and was confined to bed. Ms. Wen heard about this and became very worried. She brought her child back home on March 3, 2003. Her father saw the lovely child, got better day by day, and could soon walk around. They told Ms. Wen not to leave. They arrested her husband, but would they arrest Wen again? The child was so young, who could be so cruel?

Ms. Wen went downtown on April 13, 2003 to buy provisions for her son. On her way home on the bus, Su Shiliang, from Domestic Security Team in the Public Security Bureau, along with others, arrested her. She was interrogated and tortured, and nearly became blind in one eye. She was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor.

Having lost both parents, the young boy withstood pressure that a child should not have to face. Since he missed his parents, he became uneasy and short tempered. One day, he held his father's clothes and a pair of his shoes and sat on the wood stack outside. He would not go back inside until it was dark out.

After Ms. Wen was released, the police harassed her many times, and the parents were all very anxious. After six months, Ms. Wen's father-in-law passed away due to long-term harassment and missing his son. He was only 58 years old. His eyes would not close even in death. Three weeks after Mr. Li's father died, Cui Aiguo, the former secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, along with people from the 610 Office and Domestic Security Team, came to harass Ms. Wen again. Her mother-in-law was so scared she could not get out of bed, and her son tried to hide himself. Ms. Wen told the officers seriously, "You scared my father-in-law to death. Now you are scaring my mother-in-law and son. Please do not come again!"

On the morning of April 12, 2007, several people claiming to be police drove to Wang Village Elementary School and demanded to see Ms. Wen Aixia's son. The principal asked for their IDs, but they would not produce them. The principal was worried that the child would be in danger, because there had been a case in Daying in 2006, where a middle school student was abducted after being given drugs, so he arranged for students to go home together in groups.

Entire Family Suffers from Persecution

Mr. Li Aige was detained for over nine years. His mother always cries when he was mentioned in conversation. Ms. Wen Aixia, believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, supports the whole family strongly. She goes to work every day and goes to visit her husband in prison every month and encourages him. Since their house was in poor condition after so many years, in 2011, with the help of her relatives, Ms. Wen Aixia built four new rooms and hoped her husband would be released soon.

On October 29, 2011, the prison notified them of Mr. Li's release, but after suffering so much persecution, he was sick and dying. Now he can only lie in bed and is unable to take care of himself.

Countless people have suffered like Mr. Li Aige and his family from the persecution of Falun Gong. During the 13 years of persecution of Falun Gong and Truthfulness-Compassion and Forbearance, over 3,000 practitioners are confirmed as having been tortured to death, and numerous practitioners have been victims of deadly organ harvesting by the CCP.
