(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qujing City, Yunnan Province] Practitioners' Attorney Not Allowed to Appear in Court

It was known that the Qujing City Intermediate Court would try Ms. Xiao Yuxia, Ms. Jiang Xuemei and Ms. Wu Qihui in the Luliang Courthouse on the morning of July 27, 2012. However, when their families and attorneys tried to go through the procedures required to appear in court or defend the practitioners, the local officials made things difficult and kept them from attending the trial.

2. [ Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province] Elderly Ms. Wu Congmei on Hunger Strike

Ms. Wu Congmei, 69, is from Huili County, Liangshan Prefecture. Wang Zifa and Zhuang Mingqing from the Domestic Security Division barged into Ms. Wu's home on the morning of May 29, 2012, and confiscated her Falun Gong books and informational materials about Falun Gong. Officers twisted her hands behind her back, stuffed her mouth, and took her to a detention center. Ms. Wu has been on a hunger strike for over 40 days. She has become sking and bones and is in a critical condition. Yet the Domestic Security Division authorities are still trying to fabricate evidence against her and get her sentenced.

The Huili Police Department authorities mailed Ms. Wu's son a Warrant of Arrest endorsed by the Huili Procuratorate. Nobody had signed for the person in charge of Ms. Wu's case.

3. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Gao Guoyuan in Critical Condition; Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Gao Guoyuan was detained on June 4, 2012. After being held in Niushan Detention Center in Dongguan City for 52 days, he was sent to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, on July 26, 2012.

In Niushan Detention Center, Mr. Gao became a mere skeleton as a result of the persecution. His hands and face looked like only skin and bones left and his waist was as thin as that of a child. He limped and walked with a stoop, his feet in shackles.

4. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Jianxin and His Wife Ms. Zhang Shiyun Detained

The Beipiao Police Department authorities in Chaoyang City tracked cellphone signals and found elderly Mr. Gao Jianxin's home in Qidaoquanzi, Chaoyang City. Officers from the Beipiao Police Department, deputy director Yang Wei, and others from the Chaoyang City Development Zone Police Department barged into Mr. Gao's home on the evening of July 19, 2012, ransacked it, and took Mr. Gao and his wife, Ms. Zhang Shiyun, to the Chaoyang City Development Zone Police Department. The couple are being held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center in Beishan, Xidayingzi.

5. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Huaping and Ms. Li Yunxiang Taken to Fushun Brainwashing Center

6. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ye Chunqiang and Her Sister Ms. Ye Chunzhi Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Ye Chunqiang and her sister, Ms. Ye Chunzhi, from Dandong City were detained by officers from the Dadong Police Department in Donggang City for speaking to people about Falun Gong on the evening of June 5, 2012. They were sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on July 7, 2012, both for a term of one year.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Jinmin Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zhao Jinmin and Ms. Ma Jinghuan from Yangshujieli, Dehui City, Jilin Province, were detained by over ten officers from the Liaoyuan Domestic Security Division, Changchun Domestic Security Division, and Dehui Domestic Security Division. Officers confiscated their Falun Gong books, cellphones and other personal belongings. Ms. Zhao was sent to a forced labor camp for one year. Ms. Ma was released.

8. [Shangshui County, Henan Province] Ms. Chan Ye and Ms. Fu Xiurong Detained

Ms. Chan Ye, in her 40s, is from Shangshui County in the Zhoukou Area. Ms. Fu Xiurong, 58, is from Liukou Production Team, Tanghua Township. Ms. Chan and Ms. Fu were reported to police and arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of July 17, 2012 ,for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Dongdayuan Detention Center in Shanshui County.

9. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xin Baodong, His Wife Ms. Gao Shuying, and Ms. Xie Baofeng Detained

Over ten officers from the Sanhe City Police Department, headed by the Domestic Security Division chief Jia Zhixue, barged into the Mothers and Babies Store owned by Mr. Xin Baodong and his wife, Ms. Gao Shuying, and searched it on the afternoon of July 25, 2012. They were not able to find anything they were looking for, but they still took the couple away. Officers confiscated a desktop computer used for bookkeeping and shop business, a laptop computer that the couple's child used for work, and several Falun Gong books.

Around 6 p.m. that day, officers arrested Ms. Xie Baofeng, who was working in the store. Ms. Xie's home was also ransacked. Mr. Xin and Ms. Gao were taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center. Ms. Xie Baofeng's whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Xiumian Detained

Ms. Wu Xiumian is from Tanzhuang Village, Liangcun Development Zone, Gaocheng City, Hebei Province. She was detained by agents from the Liangcun Development Zone Administrative Committee on the morning of July 24, 2012, and taken to the Shijiazhuang City Brainwashing Center the same day.

Ms. Xiuhua from the Shuangyushu Area in the Haidian District of Beijing was reported to police and subsequently arrested by officers from the Zhongguancun Police Station for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people in Zhongguancun in the Haidian District on the afternoon of July 22, 2012.

13. [Jinxian County, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zou Liumei, Ms. Li Fanglan, Ms. Wan Juhua, and Ms. Wu Chunling from Lidu Town, Jinxian County, were arrested on July 24, 2012. One practitioner's home was ransacked and equipment used to make informational materials about Falun Gong were confiscated. Officers including Jiang Jinping climbed over a wall and forced their way into Ms. Zou Liumei's home. They destroyed photos of the founder of Falun Gong and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials.

14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Feng Xiulan Harassed

Agents including Zhao Aimin from Sanjie Village, Gucheng, Dingxing County, Baoding City, barged into Ms. Feng Xiulan's home in the same village on the afternoon of July 10, 2012. Without presenting any credentials, they took Ms. Feng to the Xiao Village Brainwashing Center and photographed her against her will. Ms. Feng has been released.

15. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhiyong, 26, Arrested on the Afternoon of July 24, 2012

16. [Langfeng City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Caixia Arrested; Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Lu Caixia was a teacher in the No. 8 Primary School. She left home on the evening of July 26, 2012. Around 8:30 p.m. the same evening, Ms. Lu's husband was informed that Ms. Lu had been arrested.

17. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Wenjun Arrested

Ms. Wang Wenjun worked in the Sanhe Electricity Factory in Yanjiao. She was arrested on July 23, 2012, and her home was ransacked.

18. [Guangan City, Sichuan Province] Elderly Mr. Li Dayuan Detained

Mr. Li Dayun, about 70, is from Anshan Village, Zaoshan Town, the Guangan District, Anshan Town, Guangan City. He was detained on July 25, 2012. His daughter, who cannot take care her own daily needs, was left at home. It is now the season to harvest corn. His over 1,500 kilograms of corn have not been harvested.

19. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Jiahui Detained

Ms. Yang Jiahui from Hainan Township, Xichang City, was detained by seven or eight officers from the Xichang City State Security Bureau on July 26, 2012. Officers from the Xichang City State Security Bureau had previously harassed Ms. Yang many times.

20. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Qinghua Cruelly Beaten by Agents from 610 Office

Mr. Wang Qinghua went to the Shouan Town government offices to run an errand for his grandson on the afternoon of July 18, 2012. He explained the facts about Falun Gong to a guard standing at the door and gave him an informational VCD. The guard turned him in. Three agents from the Shouan Town 610 Office then took him into a room and took turns striking his face and head. After they got tired of beating him, they left him and walked away.

21. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Youqiong Detained and Released

Ms. Yu Youqiong, 55, is from the No.2 Commune, Wanlai Village, Salian Town, Miyi County, Sichuan Province. She was harassed twice and held in the Miyi Detention Center for six days.

On March 6, 2012, when Ms. Yu was doing housework at home, six officers including deputy director Zhou Lin from the Salian Town Police Station suddenly barged into her home and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials about Falun Gong, and MP3 and MP4 players.

Four officers including Xu Zhengyong from the Domestic Security Division barged into Ms. Yu's home on May 17, 2012, and took her to the county detention center. Because Ms. Yu is illiterate, they forced her daughter, Ms. Zeng Yuanmei, to write a guarantee statement on behalf of Ms. Yu, then forced Ms. Yu to press her fingerprints on the statement. Ms. Yu was released on May 22, 2012.
