(Minghui.org) Shuangcheng Court officials tried six Falun Gong practitioners on May 28, 2012, and five attorneys entered non-guilty pleas for them. The practitioners were Jiang Xiaoyan, Luo Yanjjie, Tian Xiaoping, Ge Xin, Ye Baoqing and Kang Changjiang. At the beginning of the trial the judge told the practitioners that they had the right to request that people be dismissed from the court proceedings. All six practitioners asked that members of the Communist Party should be dismissed from the proceedings. The reason is simple; persecuting Falun Gong practitioners serves the interests of the Party, thus all Party members inherently have a conflict of interest with any case concerning Falun Gong practitioners.
Their response caught the judge by surprise. He adjourned for five minutes to report to his superiors before he resumed the trial. The lawyers said that it is unprecedented in Falun Gong cases.
First, the six practitioners together requested to have Party members dismissed. The reason is simple: the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong; each and every Party member present in the courtroom is implementing the CCP's orders. The trial is actually using the so-called form of law to achieve the goal of implementing the CCP's policy to persecute Falun Gong. The practitioners' publicly requesting that Party members be dismissed and pointing out the conflict of interest hit the Party in it's Achilles' heel.
Second, we saw the courage of the practitioners. The persecution has gone on for 13 years. Facing the brutalities inflicted upon them, practitioners have dauntlessly safeguarded their right to belief. The CCP's evil nature is well known. The six practitioners publicly and resolutely voiced their wish to have Party members dismissed from the case, which shocked and awed everyone present, including the Party members.
Third, by bravely and publicly explaining why they requested Party members be dismissed, the practitioners and their attorneys revealed to the people attending the court proceedings that the CCP is the evil force that persecutes Falun Gong, and the persecution's brutality has reached the culmination point, including the persecutors' employing all kinds of torture methods. In addition, the CCP has gone so far as harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners to sell for enormous profits. The practitioners' public request to have Party members removed tore off the CCP's camouflage mask.
Fourth, the judge's words and actions expose the Party members' stubbornness and cowardice as they persistently commit crimes until the end. The trial of Falun Gong practitioners itself is illegal. As a judge, he clearly knows there is not any evidence to be found in any law to justify persecuting Falun Gong practitioners; on the contrary, the persecution has seriously violated the “freedom of belief” stipulated in China's Constitution. The judge was so astonished by the practitioners' application to have Party members dismissed that he was caught off guard. The judge's “adjourning, reporting to his superiors and resuming the trial” shows that the related Party members and the judge's superiors want to keep up the persecution of Falun Gong. At the same time, the judge felt at loss about what to do, which displayed the their cowardice.
Prior to the trial, martial law had been declared in the areas surrounding the court. The vehicles used for monitoring had been parked in close proximity to the court. Provincial Police Department officials dispatched a large number of special police. Uniformed police officers and plainclothes officers were everywhere on the streets, in shops and inside the corridors of the residential areas. In addition, several-hundred village heads from more than a dozen villages in 24 townships and towns waited outside the court gate. They were ordered to return Falun Gong practitioners to their villages as soon as they saw them at the courthouse.
The above facts show that the regime agents attach great importance to trials of Falun Gong practitioners. But behind the great attention paid we saw the trial's illegality and the Party's cowardice. Under such circumstances the CCP certainly had nothing to say in reply when the practitioners publicly applied to have Communist Party members dismissed.
During the trial the attorneys exposed the CCP's brutality in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The judge repeatedly stopped them, but the attorneys persisted. As soon as the judge stopped one of the attorneys the next attorney continued speaking and telling everyone the facts.
The attorneys' non-guilty pleas are consistent with the practitioners' application for withdrawal, because the persecution has no legal basis; but because the persecution did take place, isn't it caused by the CCP? Isn't it vital that practitioners publicly point out that there is a conflict of interest in allowing Party members to sit in on a trial concerning Falun Gong?
We believe that the rising tide of applications for withdrawal from the Communist Party is an alarm bell that has shocked and awakened many Party members who would get involved in the trials of Falun Gong practitioners.
