Changchun Police Officials Suffer Karmic Retribution for Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners

August 11, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Changchun, China

(Minghui.org) Editors’ Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely “following orders,” the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Recently, there have been many instances in which police officers from Changchun who have participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners received karmic retribution. We hope that those who continue persecuting innocent people will pay attention, learn from this and stop committing evil acts.

Tian Zhonglin, Former Head of Changchun Police Department, Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison

Tian Zhonglin, 66, was the deputy mayor and police department head in Changchun from 1999 to 2005. This was the period of time when the highest number of local Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted to death, tortured, disabled, held in detention centers, and sentenced to forced labor and imprisonment. Practitioners in Changchun kept clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to Tian, but he refused to listen. Tian's wrongdoings were exposed on the Minghui website numerous times.

Because Tian Zhonglin took huge sums of money in bribes, he was detained and interrogated three or four times by the Chinese regime's Central Disciplinary Committee. He was arrested for corruption in 2011 and recently sentenced to 11 years in prison. He is expected to serve his sentence at the Changchun Tiebei Prison.

Tian Zhonglin's family was also not spared misfortune. First, his two brothers and nephew died in a car accident. Next, his wife was diagnosed with throat cancer. His father passed away and his mother also succumbed to death within six months. Next, his sister Tian Ying, deputy head of the Changchun 610 Office, was involved in several car accidents. Her neck was broken and she sustained injuries in many parts of her body. As a result, she can no longer work.

Ma Shiyong, Former Deputy Head of Changchun Police Department, Meets Sudden Death

From 1998 to 2005, Ma Shiyong was in charge of a unit that specialized in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Later, it merged with the Domestic Security Division. Ma's wife, Zou Yonghua, was the head of the Changchun 610 Office at that time.

In 2004, Ma Shiyong was removed from office and forced into early retirement, after it was discovered that he frequently demanded bribes and had murdered his mistress after she became pregnant. In April 2012, Ma suddenly died at the age of 62.

Zheng Weimin, Deputy Head of Changchun Police Department, Dismissed

Zheng Weimin was in charge of the Changchun Domestic Security Division, which was created specifically to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Zheng planned and directed almost all of the large-scale arrests of practitioners in Changchun. He vehemently persecuted practitioners in order to impress his supervisor and get promoted. However, he subsequently received karmic retribution for his evil deeds. First, both he and his wife were diagnosed with diabetes. Later, he was investigated by the local Procuratorate for taking bribes and involvement in gang activities. He was dismissed from his job in April 2012.
