(Minghui.org) On the morning of February 25, 2012, deputy directors of the Tanghai County Police Department, Li Jiaman and Li Fuguo, arrested Mr. Zheng Xiangxing. They also threatened Mr. Zheng and his family and declared their intention to arrest Mr. Zheng's wife, Ms. Sun Suyun.

After Mr. Zheng's arrest, his wife Ms. Sun went to the police department to inquire about her husband and also requested the return of the confiscated items. Liu Jiaman and director Bai Yuli threatened her by saying they would send her to a forced labor camp within two months.

Later, Ms. Sun and Mr. Zheng's defense lawyer went to the police department to request his release with petition letters from his fellow villagers. But the police and officials from the 10th Farm threatened the villagers who signed the petition that their retirement funds would be confiscated. Many of the villagers were so scared that they scratched their names off the petition letter, some with tears in their eyes.

Mr. Zheng is the owner of a small electronics store in the Tanghai County 10th Farm. Mr. Zheng and his wife Ms. Sun never sell any fake things and serve their customers sincerely. Many villagers from the 10th and 11th Farm went to their store to buy electric bikes, refrigerators, and other items.

Mr. Zheng was arrested by police on February 25, 2012. Around 6:00 a.m. that day, two female police officers deceived Mr. Zheng, pretending to need repairs to their electric bike. After Mr. Zheng opened the door, over a dozen police officers from the 10th Farm Police Station and Li Fuguo, the deputy director of the Tanghai County Domestic Security Division, broke in and took him away. The police also took away many of the items from his store, loading them into two cars.

Mr. Zheng was detained in the Tanghai County Detention Center. After a month of detention, he became emaciated. The villagers from the 10th and 11th, a total of 562 people, signed three petition letters with their thumb prints in red.

Later, when Mr. Zheng's case drew international attention, the police spread word that the villagers who signed the petition would be punished.
