Kinmen, Taiwan: Call to Rescue Taiwanese Falun Dafa Practitioner Illegally Detained in China (Photo)

July 18, 2012 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Taiwan

(Minghui.org) Thirteen years ago, former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and the Communist regime launched the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Since then the hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in China have suffered brutal torture, incarceration, and other abuse.

This year in July, Falun Gong practitioners in Kinmen held a series of activities in front of a busy traditional market to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. On July 14, the practitioners set up tables and posters. They played videos that introduced Falun Dafa and explained how the peaceful appeal on April 25, 1999 came about, and what happened on July 20, 1999. They also told the public how a Taiwanese citizen went to visit his relatives in China and was arrested there because of his practice of Falun Gong. They collected signatures for a petition that called on the Taiwanese authorities to rescue practitioner Mr. Chung Ting-pang.

Falun Dafa practitioners call upon the Taiwanese government to help rescue Mr. Chung Ting-pang

Many kind-hearted residents in Kinmen signed the petition, hoping that their government will stand up to protect the safety and rights of its people. “It’s no doubt that we should not tolerate evil,” said one of them.
