June 13, 2012 |   By Wenli

(Minghui.org) The incident where 300 villagers signed their names on a public petition calling for the release of detained fellow villager, Wang Xiaodong, has alarmed the upper echelons of the Communist regime. More and more people are following this incident closely. Presently, the court has handed the case back to the local police department for reassessment due to lack of evidence.

In Xianning City, Hubei Province, there was another similar incident where the village committee and villagers jointly issued a statement in support of Falun Gong. The victim, Liu Shehong was unjustly sentenced to four years of imprisonment by Wuhan Court last year and is currently still in prison.

Liu Shehong was previously sent to jail many times for drug use and fighting. After he began to study Zhuan Falun he became a good man. However he was detained twice for refusing to give up his belief and imprisoned for many years. In 2008, villagers from Daqiao Village in Xianan District, Xianning City collectively signed and testified to Mr. Liu's journey from a troublemaker to a good person. The village committee also issued a statement requesting the police station to release him.

Sent to Four Years of Forced Labor for Taking Drugs and Fighting

Liu Shehong is 45 years old this year. He was formerly a worker at a timber company in Wuhan City. In 1993, he became addicted to drugs and was sent to jail many times. As a result of long term drug use, his physical health deteriorated. In December 2006, he returned to his ancestral home in Daqiao Village, Xianan District, Xianning City. By then, both his legs were swollen and his whole body had turned black and he could not even walk properly. The villagers thought he would not live to see the new year. Yet, he continued to borrow money from the villagers, and then use it to buy drugs.

Drug Addiction Disappeared After Reading Zhuan Falun for Four Months, Causing a Stir Amongst Villagers

In January 2007, Liu Shehong received a copy of Zhuan Falun and began to read it as if he found a treasure. In a statement subsequently written by the villagers, they said, “A strange thing finally happened. He actually persisted and read the book at home for over a month. During this period, he stayed at home all the time and did not leave the village once to look for drugs. Not only did he stop taking drugs, he also quit smoking. His body as well as countenance changed completely and he looked fitter than most people.”

“Since then, he always returned to the village during Chinese New Year and holidays. Every two months he would also return home to visit his mother, brother and sister-in-law. He became more and more physically fit, and his temperament, speech and attitude improved. He helped his family with the housework and was able to take hardships without complaint. He turned into a totally different person, a good man.”

Liu Shehong said, “Falun Gong changed me and taught me to assimilate to the universal characteristics of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. If not for Falun Gong, my life would be a tragedy forever.”

Now he looks kind and compassionate. Falun Gong is truly amazing.”
