610 Office Orders Police to Illegally Ransack Falun Gong Practitioners' Homes in Laizhou City, Shandong Province

May 20, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong for nearly thirteen years since July 20, 1999. The judicial system and all levels of governments, controlled by the CCP's 610 Office, have been actively involved in the persecution. They have frequently harassed Falun Gong practitioners, confiscated items from their homes, and forcibly arrested them. Practitioners have been subjected to body searches and interrogation. These activities have been carried out without any legal basis or evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Falun Gong practitioners.

The following report exposes recent cases of various levels of government departments in Laizhou City assisting the police departments and the 610 Office in illegally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

This past year, the Bianfang Police Station in Jincheng Town and the Jincheng Town Police Department coordinated with the Jincheng Town government to continually harass and persecute local Falun Gong practitioners. On the morning of February 10, 2012 at about 11:00 a.m., officers from the Bianfang Police Station and the Jincheng Police Department broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Yulan's home in Yuanjia Village, Jincheng Town. They confiscated Dafa books, an MP3 player and other personal belongings. They also illegally arrested Ms. Wu, who is in her seventies, and detained her at a brainwashing center for persecution.

That same day, the police also broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lu Yuhua's home in Longbu Village. They confiscated Dafa books, an MP3 player and other personal belongings. They arrested Ms. Lu, detained her at the Jincheng Town Police Station and pressured her to write a guarantee statement promising to give up Falun Gong. They also went to the homes of practitioners Wang Xianyu in Liujia Village and Liu Xiurong in Yuanjia Village, in order to harass them. Wang Xianyu was not at home at the time.

On February 13 at around 10:00 a.m., the same group of police officers went to Wang Xianyu's home to harass him again. The door of Wang Xianyu's home was locked. They kept knocking on the door and windows, which frightened all the neighbors. The same day, Liu Haijun from the Jincheng Town government led a group of people to break into practitioner Wang Zhongcheng's home in Wangjia Village. Only Wang Zhongcheng's wife (who is not a practitioner) was at home. They searched through Wang Zhongchen's home but could not find any Dafa materials. Then they forced Wang Zhongcheng's wife to tear off a couplet posted on the door and a small wall hanging from their wall. After that, they went to practitioner Teng Chunxiang's home (Teng Chunxiang is Wang Zhongchen's mother) and knocked on her door and windows, but they could not find Teng Chunxiang either.

On February 15, a similar group went to Falun Gong practitioner Liu Congyan's home in Liujia Village. Liu Congyan was not at home but her child was home alone. Those people pounded on the door and windows, severely frightening the child. That same day, practitioner Zhang Fangting's home in Matang Village was ransacked by police. At first, a group of plainclothes police broke into her home and started to take things away. Soon a group of police officers arrived in a police vehicle and forcibly took away Falun Dafa books and Shen Yun Performance DVDs. On February 15 at about 9:00 a.m., the 610 Office ordered three police officers from Laizhou City to go to Mataishi Village in Guojiadian. With the director of the village committee coordinating, the police broke into Falun Gong practitioner Liu Meina's home without showing any ID. They threatened the family and took away Dafa books, an MP3 player and other personal belongings.

They also illegally broke into Falun Gong practitioner Wang Hongju's home in the same village. Even though Mr. Wang Hongju was not at home, they took away Dafa books and a set of speakers in front of his family members.

In addition to illegal home invasions, the police have harassed many Falun Gong practitioners and their families in Laizhou City by phoning them repeatedly or stopping by to register their names.

Without any evidence or showing any ID, the police and 610 Office personnel have illegally broken into Falun Gong practitioners' homes and searched for Dafa books. Some practitioners' homes were ransacked many times by the police. The police department has seriously violated their civil rights under the pretext of law enforcement. Besides being a serious violation of human rights, this is a flagrant abuse of power.
