(Minghui.org) This year, one area in the United States cooperated very poorly as a whole in promoting Shen Yun. I'm a practitioner from this area so I need to look inward and find how my failings contributed to this situation. Although I have been cultivating for more than ten years I have not used the magic tool of looking inward. When I first began to examine myself I did not find anything: I felt I was not attached to how to sell group tickets when promoting Shen Yun. When I saw that ticket selling sites were empty during the Christmas prime selling time, I went there to sell tickets on a daily basis. On the surface it seemed I did not do anything wrong. But I knew I was also responsible when we did not even sell half the tickets. So I have to take a more in-depth look inward.
One day when I was reading “Cultivation of Speech” in Zhuan Falun, the following sentence jumped out: “Cultivation of mind meant that one would not even think.” Although I did not push forward to share my ideas, what were my thoughts when I saw something that did not conform to my way of thinking? I realized I was thinking how others were not capable and how wrong the decision was. Everyone has a different origin of life and is at a different level of cultivation. Why would others need to conform to my ideas when doing things? How other practitioners do things and what they say may not meet my way of thinking, but what they say or do may be appropriate for that person. Moreover, we should also improve in our own cultivation. After we ascend and look back, perhaps some of the things we did were not necessarily correct.
Looking at some cases of Shen Yun promotion in our area: some practitioners thought, “How can we rely on such 'lowly' methods of promotion such as delivering materials door to door?” Some practitioners thought that because a certain state sold 5% of tickets every day by delivering materials door to door, they would rather leave our ticket selling sites empty and focus on delivering materials door to door, and we should deliver even more. Think about it everyone, if several practitioners from an area are always focusing on what others are doing wrong, although they don't say anything but silently keep complaining and blaming each other, even becoming angry, how will the high level beings look at them? Is this cooperating as a whole? No, this is a mess!
We practitioners talk about cultivating xinxing and looking inward. Every practitioner knows this. But how did we do? To change this situation, practitioners in areas where cooperation is poor as a whole should truly look inward and cultivate their xinxing. How well tickets are selling is a true reflection of cooperation among practitioners in an area. Only by learning to look inward can we cooperate well as a whole and fundamentally change the situation in that area.
