(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Fenglan was recently secretly tried in Wenfeng District Court of Anyang City, Henan Province, and she is now facing a jail sentence. Ms. Chen Xueshen has been detained in Anyang Detention Center for more than four months. Ms. Chen and Ms. Li Hui, another detained practitioner, are facing trial, as well.

More than 20 people are detained in the same cell at the Anyang Detention Center. There is not enough room for everyone to sleep lying down. Detainees have to eat and relieve themselves in the same cell, which makes the conditions very smelly and unsanitary. Practitioners are forced to do manual labor, and they are suffering greatly both mentally and physically.

Ms. Liu Fenglan was placed under police surveillance in 2011 and was followed everywhere she went. For example, she was videotaped while she was shopping and distributing truth-clarification materials. On the afternoon of November 1, 2011, she was taken into custody while on the street. Those involved in her arrest were from Anyang City 610 Office, the domestic security division, Wenfeng Police Station and the Ziwei Street Residential Office. More than ten perpetrators came to her apartment at around 6 p.m. that day and searched it, traumatizing her young child, who was at home alone.

Ms. Chen Xuesheng and Ms. Li Hui are also Falun Gong practitioners from Anyang City. Around 10 p.m. on November 28, 2011, while they distributed truth-clarifying materials in Xijian Village in the north suburb of Anyang City, they were arrested by officers from the Beihang Police Station. That afternoon, Ms. Chen's home was ransacked by police led by Lu Mingjing and Wang Junqing from the domestic security division. They took away a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, as well as other books and CDs of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

Ms. Liu Fenglan and Ms. Chen Xuesheng are over 60 years old, and Ms. Li Hui is around 50 years old. They are all retirees. Before practicing Falun Gong, they each had several chronic diseases. Ms. Liu had migraine headaches and was very weak, and she also easily lost her temper. Ms. Li had heart problems, a tumor in her uterus and uterine bleeding. All of their illnesses were cured after they began practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Liu Fenglan and Ms. Chen Xuesheng have been detained and subjected to forced labor several times. Their family members have also suffered a lot in the past 13 years.

Since Jiang Zemin started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Anyang City 610 Office officials have been carrying out the persecution actively and pushing the related government branches to participate, including Anyang Police Department, police stations and residential offices. Many practitioners were harassed, threatened, arrested, brainwashed and blackmailed. Their homes were ransacked. The persecution has brought great suffering to practitioners and their family members.

The details of many persecution cases are not completely known yet. Here are just a few of them.

Mr. Zhang Zhenzhong, 22, was a college student in Shandong Province Industrial University. He was arrested on May 17, 2001 when he and two other practitioners clarified the truth about Falun Gong in Tangying City. He was detained in Tangyin Detention Center and died six days later as a result of force feeding.

Mr. Wang Bin from Haobi City died after being tortured by officers from the Anyang Police Department and Haobi City Domestic Security Division.

Mr. Wang Yukun from Wenfeng District of Anyang City was disabled in one leg due to the torture he was subjected to in Xuchang Forced Labor Camp, Henan Province.

Mr. Wang Zhihua from Linzhou City was secretly sentenced to 10 years in jail for viewing overseas-based websites. Mr. Yang Jianjun was sentenced to 10 years in jail and Mr. Feng Junhong, 6 years in jail.

Ms. Shi Yaner was arrested at home on September 23, 2009 by police from Wenfeng District Domestic Security Division, led by the division head Bai Dongming. While she was in detention, her husband suddenly died from the stress.

Ms. Wang Fang, in her 30s, was from West Street, Wenfeng District. She was arrested on June 8, 2010. Her husband and mother-in-law were sick and their three daughters were all very young. She was sentenced to jail. Her husband passed away in pain while she was in detention.

For almost 13 years, officials from Anyang City 610 Office have been actively involved in the persecution. Many surveillance cameras have been installed along the streets, lanes and public areas. Their main function is to prevent practitioners from distributing truth-clarifying materials. Recently propaganda flyers slandering Falun Gong were posted in Jiefanglu Residential Office in Beiguan District, Anyang City.
