Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Ling Mingguo Ignores Warnings

Li Mingguo, current chairman of the Jiuzhai Township People's Congress in Mengyin County, has been actively engaged in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners since 1999. His crimes have been exposed numerous times on the Clearwisdom website. Several years ago, he suffered from burst capillary vessels in the brain. Falun Gong practitioners, out of kindness, told him to stop participating in the persecution, but he ignored these warnings. On October 20, 2011, his wife suddenly died while talking on the phone at home.

Teng Quits Smearing Falun Gong Posters after Suffering Heart Disease

Teng lives in the southern part of Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. She was quick to remove truth clarification leaflets and posters that Falun Gong practitioners posted in residential communities. Practitioners told her not to follow the CCP's orders. She refused to listen and was quite glad to collect the monetary incentives, plus she didn't believe that there would be any retribution. She collected a few thousand yuan from the CCP. However, she started to develop heart problems, which she never had before. After spending 30,000 yuan on medical expenses, her symptoms were only alleviated a little. She regretted that she had not heeded practitioners' advice. She has decided to quit doing what the CCP was paying her to do.

Gong Tongliang Sentenced to 19 Years in Prison

Gong Tongliang brutally arrested and beat Falun Gong practitioners when he was the CCP secretary in Jiuzhai Township, Mengyin County, Shandong Province. He searched the homes of 19 practitioners and engaged in torture and brainwashing. He forced practitioners to stand barefoot in the snow. Later he was transferred to Mengyin County, where he was involved in gambling, prostitution, and other crimes. He was arrested and sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Lu Shangquan in Zhengzhou City Dies

After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, Lu Shangquan actively participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. He went to Beijing to take practitioners back to the Shangjie District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Several practitioners were then illegally held in custody for over six months for brainwashing.

Between 2000 and 2006, Lu Shangquan was responsible for the detention, forced labor terms, or imprisonment of several dozen practitioners. He was directly involved in twice sentencing a practitioner in the Shangjie District to forced labor, the first time to a two-year term, the second time to a three-year term. In another case, a practitioner was held in a brainwashing facility in Zhengzhou City for over eight years. He also coerced several practitioners to give up their belief in Falun Gong, and they have not resumed practicing to this day.

As early as 2000, he ignored practitioners' kind advice. In September 2000, his father suddenly died without exhibiting any symptoms of illness. He refused to acknowledge that this was retribution and told everyone that his father had died of illness. When a practitioner whose family was destroyed as a result of his persecution reminded him kindly to stop persecuting Falun Dafa, he yelled and cursed, and boasted that he had received a 2,000-yuan bonus.

On July 24, 2011, he died, at age 54, from cancer. In the several years following the cancer diagnosis, he had borrowed hundreds of thousands of yuan for treatment. His wife and children are now burdened by the debt he incurred.
