(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ji Guangli was illegally arrested at around 3:00 p.m. on February 7, 2012 as she spoke with people about Falun Gong in Xianxi Lane, Jinan City. Eight officers from the Daminghu Police Station made the arrest. They also arrested and took her husband, Mr. Yu Zongping, to the police station, ransacked their home and took away their personal belongings. The couple was later taken to the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center. Ms. Ji was released after she held a two-day hunger strike. Mr. Yu is still being held.
Mr. Yu Zongping and Ms. Ji Guangli live on Xianqian Street, the Lixia District, Jinan City. Mr. Yu, age 50, was previously arrested on October 12, 2000, by Zhonglousi Police Station head Ren Chuanwu and police officer Xu Wanjin. He was subjected to three years of forced labor, and sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, Shandong Province No.1 Men's Forced Labor Camp on October 27, 2000. He was severely abused and tortured. Mr. Yu was shocked with electric batons, force-fed hot pepper powder, made to sit on a hard wooden stool for long periods of time, deprived of sleep for a long period of time, and other tortures. In early 2001, Mr. Yu was subjected to brutal “transformation” in Division No.11. After more than six months of abuse and torture, Mr. Yu still remained steadfast in his belief.
Ms. Ji Guangli, 52, is a former employee at the Jinan Meter Factory. She was previously held in the Licheng District 610 Office Brainwashing Center in October 2000 for three months. She was hung up and ruthlessly beaten. She was arrested again in November 2002 as she spoke with people about Falun Gong. Lixi District 610 Office agents and officers from the Dongmen Police Station arrested and detained her. She was later incarcerated in the 610 Office Brainwashing Center for seven months. She was later sentenced to 18 months of forced labor because she remained steadfast in her belief. She was fired from her job. During her detention in the Jiangshuiquan Women's Forced Labor Camp, the officials forbade her to meet with her family because she refused to be reformed. During that time, her husband Mr. Yu Zongping was held in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for a three-year term. Their 12-year-old daughter was left uncared for.
The recent arrest of Mr. Yu and Ms. Ji was made by officers from the Daminghu Police Station. Ms. Ji has returned home; however Mr. Yu is still in the brainwashing center.
