(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Jin Yijun works in a law firm in Lanzhou. On December 7, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Shao Yanbo's prison term ended. Ms. Jin went to the Lanzhou Prison and helped his family pick him up. Ms. Jin was taken away by police on the way home that night. She was sent to the Lanzhou First Detention Center three days later.
Ms. Jin Yijun's parents and relatives went to the Lanzhou Police Department from another city and requested her release in the early morning of December 28, 2011, after they learned that Ms. Jin had been arrested. The police threatened them and drove them away.
Out of concern for Ms. Jin's safety, her family hired an attorney from Beijing to provide legal assistance for her. In the early morning of January 5, 2012, the attorney and Ms. Jin's family went to the Lanzhou First Detention Center. When the attorney presented the relevant documents and requested to visit Ms. Jin, the detention center made excuses to obstruct him, instructing him to obtain visitation approval from the legal department in charge before being allowed to see Ms. Jin.
The attorney went to the Lanzhou Police Department immediately, where he was blocked by the entrance guard. He called the personnel in Room 506 by phone and negotiated. He clearly heard another person say to the person who answered the phone, “Just tell him the person in charge of the case is not present.” The attorney made another phone call and found a director. The director told the attorney that he should go back and wait for further instructions.
The attorney did not receive a phone call from the person in charge until January 9, 2012. Ms. Jin's family received a phone call from Room 506 in the Lanzhou Police Department on the morning of January 9, 2012, saying, “Jin Yijun has been sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. She is in the Gansu Women's Labor Camp. You can go there to visit her at any time.”
Ms. Jin's elderly parents went to the forced labor camp after hearing the news. They were told by the entrance guard that they had to wait one month, until February 5, 2012, to visit their daughter.
Ms. Jin's parents are very concerned about her safety.
