(Clearwisdom.net) Between June and August of 2011, approximately 50 Falun Gong practitioners from Shaoyang were illegally arrested and taken to a brainwashing center set up at the Jiujingwan Old Special Hostel in Shaoyang. Of those practitioners, Mr. Wang Dong Liang and Mr. Xia Shaocheng are now in the Shaoyang New Detention Center, and Mr. Xiao Chongjian and Mr. Liu Yong were both imprisoned in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, in Changsha City, Hunan.

Ms. Wang Wuxiu, Ms. Lei Lihua, and Ms. Yan Shuzhou are incarcerated in Changsha Women's Prison.

In October 2011, the Hunan 610 Office set up a series of conferences and special lectures slandering Falun Gong at the Shaoyang Institute to poison minds of the teachers and students.

In the first half of 2011, several deputy directors of the Hunan Public Security Bureau came to Shaoyang to plan how to further persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

On June 21, 2011, Shaoyang 610 Office staff and police broke into several practitioner's homes and arrested them. Following is a list of practitioners who have been persecuted.

Mr. Xiao Chongjian, 40, a section chief in Shaoyang Urban Management Division, was unlawfully sentenced to eighteen months in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp on October 11, 2011. Mr. Xiao had already been imprisoned in a labor camp the previous year.

Mr. Liu Yong, in his 30s, is employed at the Shaoyang Transportation Bureau. Mr. Liu was sentenced to two years in the Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in September 2011. Mr. Liu had previously served three years in a forced labor camp.

Mr. Xia Shaocheng, in his 40s, is a police officer at Baitian Prison in Shaoyang. Mr. Xia's home was ransacked when he was arrested. He is currently being held in Shaoyang New Detention Center and his family is not allowed to visit him.

Ms. Guo Mingqing, in her 40s, is a former employee of the Shaoyang Pesticide Factory. Ms. Guo was taken to the brainwashing center at Shaoyang Military Hostel. Xie Anping, director of Shaoyang 610 Office, led police from both the Public Security Bureau and Domestic Security Team in the Shuangqing District of Shaoyang to ransack Ms. Guo's home. They stole four Dafa books, two pictures of Teacher, and one Falun Dafa Day painting. Ms. Guo started a hunger strike in the brainwashing center to protest the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to a forced labor camp on July 15, 2011. But the camp officials refused to take her in since she was on hunger strike. She was then released.

On the morning of June 22, 2011, Han Dingfu from Chengbei Road Residential Committee in Shaoyang and five officers from the Daxiang District Domestic Security Division in Shaoyang arrested Ms. Liu Ailian and took her to a brainwashing center.

In late June 2011, staff from Shaoyang 610 Office, along with police officers, broke into Mr. Wang Dongliang's home. They arrested him, ransacked his home, and detained him in Shaoyang New Detention Center. They transferred him to Loudi City Detention Center in Hunan and later moved him back to Shaoyang New Detention Center on September 1. They would not allow Mr. Wang's family to visit him. Mr. Wang is in his 40s and is the deputy chief of the Instruction Section, Prison Management Division, at Shaoyang Public Security Bureau. He made some phone calls to his Falun Gong friends overseas. To earn credit, the Shaoyang Political and Legal Committee reported him to the Ministry of Public Security. The ministry then accused him of “inciting defection both inside and outside China.” Hunan Public Security Bureau sent several deputy directors to work with Shaoyang Public Security Bureau to brutally persecute Mr. Wang. They restricted all information about him.

On the morning of July 27, 2011, ten police cars surrounded the residential building of Jiangbei Umbrella Factory in Shaoyang. Police arrested Mr. He Yunfeng's mother, Ms. Shi Kaiyuan. She was released at 4:00 p.m. that day. Her youngest son, Mr. He Yunfeng, 36, makes a living painting. He is a practitioner and has been persecuted several times. In 2007, he was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center, but he refused to be “transformed.” The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sentenced him to eighteen months of forced labor. While he was serving his term in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, three more months were added to his term. He was released on July 6, 2009. Since then, the CCP officers have continued to harass him at his home. He was reunited with his father for six weeks before his father became sick due to the police threats, and passed away shortly thereafter. The CCP staff could not have cared less that Mr. He was grieving, and continued to harass him. On the morning of September 20, 2009, over 20 police officers surrounded his home. They broke in and put him in a brainwashing center. He was released after October 1, the sixtieth anniversary of the CCP's taking power in China. Later, Mr. He took a few paintbrushes with him and told his mother that he would be visiting famous mountains and rivers in China to create some paintings. He left home, and no one has heard from him since.

On August 20, 2011, the Domestic Security police from the Shaoyang and Ziyang Districts in Yiyang City, Hunan, arrested Ms. Liu Aihua when she was caring for her granddaughter who was only a few days old. Ms. Liu has been put into prison, a forced labor camp, and a brainwashing center several times before. She was imprisoned in Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in 2003 and a brainwashing center in 2007. On the morning of May 18, 2008, police from Tongren City Public Security Bureau, Guizhou Province, and Daxiang District Police Station, arrested her. She was put in the Shaoyang Number Two Detention Center and denied family visits. Her husband, who had diabetes, was alone by himself at home. In June 2011, staff from Shaoyang 610 Office went to Ms. Liu's daughter's home in Yiyang and threatened to take Ms. Liu back to a brainwashing center in Shaoyang.

The increase in practitioner arrests has spread to every county in Shaoyang, including Shaoyang County, Dongkou County, and others. In total, over 50 practitioners have been arrested and put into the brainwashing center in Jiujingwan Old Special Hostel in Shaoyang. The CCP staff threatened them with prison or forced labor terms if they didn't write reports denouncing their faith in Falun Gong.

When Mr. Huang arrived, the police, who had been hiding nearby, swarmed around him to arrest him. When Mr. Huang asked why he was being arrested, the police couldn't give a reason and said they were told to do it by their superiors. They pushed Mr. Huang into a car and took him away.
