(Minghui.org) The Domestic Security Division of the Kunming City Police Department arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yan Derong in December 2011. The 610 Office then used starvation, hard labor, brainwashing, and other means of torture to abuse her until she suffered a mental disorder, became paralyzed below the waist, and had multiple ulcerations of the lower limbs and buttocks. She died in the hospital on the morning of March 22, 2012, at the age of 53. She was secretly cremated by the police to conceal the truth.
Ms. Yan was born in 1961 in Guizhou. She lived in Liujiaying, Kunming City. After graduating from nursing school, she went to work for the Yunnan Petroleum (Chemical) in Yunnan. Being constantly ill, she began to practice Falun Gong in 2008. She said, "If I hadn't cultivated Dafa, I might have already died. In the past, I had no strength even to look up, and my head always drooped. I wore cotton-padded clothes even in the summer. I had a stomach disorder and frequent diarrhea. When I took a bus, I often had to get off midway to find a restroom. After practicing Dafa, I became healthy and all my illnesses disappeared. It was truly amazing."
Ms. Yan often went out to clarify the truth about Dafa and told people about the wonderfulness of Dafa. She also used her cell phone to send text messages to friends and relatives. However, the telephone bureau terminated her cell phone. When she went to ask why they stopped her phone service, she was told that it was on orders from the authorities. Other practitioners later told her that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was monitoring her phone to prevent her from spreading the facts and that she needed to pay attention to safety.
On December 10, 2011, she was missing. A practitioner who had been in contact with her went to her house and found her home had been ransacked. All her valuables, including her computer and printer, were missing. The lights were still on and the front door was open.
Her son, Liu Yang, is studying at Nanjing Agricultural University.
We hope that people who know the truth will provide details about her wrongful death.
