Her Children Persecuted Repeatedly, Ms. Liu Guiqing, 83 and Grief -stricken, Passes Away

November 30, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Guiqing, who was 83 years old when she passed away, was from Hengshan Village, Yanshan County, Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province. After starting to practice Falun Dafa in March, 1996, her gynecological and gastric problems and her arthritis were all cured. She experienced happiness and a feeling of lightness with no disease, and she was really thankful for Falun Dafa and Master Li. Her family members became practitioners one after the other, and her whole family followed the teachings of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” to be good people. They were well-regarded in the local area.

After Jiang Zemin’s regime started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, her second and third sons and third and forth daughters were defamed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Their houses were ransacked, and they were detained, fired from their jobs, and even sent to a forced labor camp. Ms. Liu endured these hardships with great difficulty. In July 2012, the CCP again arrested her daughter, Ms. Gao Yumin, who has now been in the Hegang No. 2 Detention Center for over 100 days. Ms. Liu went back and forth to the neighboring county to the Suibin Public Security Bureau, the Procuratorate, and the court to ask for her daughter's release, but to no avail. Physically and mentally exhausted, Ms. Liu passed away at 4:50 p.m. on November 6, 2012.

Ms. Liu was not able to see her daughter one last time. On October 19, 2012, when the CCP-controlled the court tried Falun Gong practitioners including Ms. Gao, Ms. Liu Guiqing wanted to see her. Suibin Court gave orders to keep the family members away. They also called in the anti-riot police. Later on they allowed each family to have one visitor. When Ms. Liu tried to get in, several police officers who were monitoring the door dragged her out.

Her Daughter's Arrest and Trial

Five practitioners including Ms. Gao Yumin, Ms. Yuan Yulong, and Yang Shuzhen from Fujin City and Liu Siyuan from Suibin County were reported for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Yongde Village, Beigang Town, Suibin County. They were arrested by the Beigang Police Substation in Suibin County and detained.

The five practitioners’ families hired two lawyers to sue the Suibin County Public Security Bureau and the Procuratorate. The practitioners kept clarifying the truth to Lu Jiansheng, the director of the public security bureau, and Zhang Zhenqiang, the team leader of the National Security Team. However they still could not stop them from committing further offenses. You Jinying, Yang Shuzhen, and Ms. Gao were transferred to the Hegang City No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Gao’s mother braved the elements to try visit her daughter at Suibin County Public Security Bureau until she passed away.

On October 19, six people, including practitioners’ family members and lawyers, arrived early for the trial. Ms. You Jinying, Yang Shuzhen, and Ms. Gao arrived at the courthouse in a police vehicle. Their family members stood outside and greeted them. This really scared the detention center police, who yelled at them and started to drive them out. The van parked outside was moved, and the gate was locked. A little while later, the police station sent a vehicle full of anti-riot police to the courthouse. Public security bureau, procuratorate, and 610 Office vehicles filed in. Over a dozen official vehicles were parked in the little courtyard. All the family members were stopped outside. You Jinying’s 17-year-old daughter could not see her mom since she stood outside the fence. Seeing the gate open, she rushed towards it, crying, “I want to see my mom, I want to see my mom!” This really upset all the family members and neighbors present. The police lined up as human wall stopped her and pulled her outside. Those watching got very angry and said, “Even murderers are allowed to meet with their families on their day in court. What is wrong with practicing Falun Gong? They are not even allowed to see their own children. This is really too unreasonable.”

The families and the lawyers protested, and eventually the court allowed five relatives to listen nearby. Several officers threatened them, saying, “Listen up. If you do not obey our orders, we will take you out. Don’t talk as you wish, understand? You are not allowed to cry. If you cry, you cannot see your mother.”

In court, fabricated evidence was presented and the practitioners were falsely charge. The court intended to sentence the practitioners to three to seven years.

When Ms. Yuan Yulong was questioned, she mentioned the three-year famine that caused countless deaths. Judge Wu Jun stopped her and told her not to talk about things not related to the case itself. Ms. Yuan said, “So I will talk about how Falun Dafa is good.” Wu said, “Yes, correct, correct, just say so. Just follow that train of thought.” Eventually he realized that he had made a mistake and corrected it.

When Ms. Gao Yumin said that of the 14 evil cults that were defined by the public security department, there was no mention of Falun Gong, Wu Jun quickly interrupted her. Ms. Gao said, “It was you who asked me to say something, but you do not allow me to finish. Why did you ask me to say something then?”

Wu Jun stopped the lawyers several times and yelled at the arrested practitioners. A lawyer’s superb speech was even applauded. Wu Jun could hardly sit still and had to leave for some time. Some of the court staff mentioned, “We all know Falun Gong practitioners are all good people, but if they are released, we will have to be detained instead.” It is clear that the judges are all tools of the CCP.

Ms. Gao Yumin Loses Her Baby and Is Put in a Forced Labor Camp

On September 19, 2007, Ms. Gao went to the home of her older brother, Mr. Gao Liansheng, to visit her mom. Police from Fujin City National Security Team and the Public Security Bureau knocked on the door. When Ms. Gao opened it, the police rushed inside like thieves and took things away. They arrested all three siblings— Gao Liansheng, Gao Yumei, and Gao Yumin. Ms. Gao Yumin was then three months pregnant. Three to four police officers took her to the detention center. They confiscated a computer, a CD burner and two thousand cash from her.

Ms. Gao Yumin was tortured for 28 days in the detention center. In bad shape, she could hardly see and was seriously short of blood. After losing consciousness, she was taken to Fujin Railway Hospital for a transfusion. During surgery, the doctors were surprised to find extravasated blood in her abdominal cavity. Her unborn baby had died some time before. The doctor told her, “When they brought you in, you had no pulse, and you heart had stopped beating as if you were dead. It was really a miracle that you survived.”

Many local practitioners were arrested that year. The public security bureau claimed that they would not release them before the end of the 17th National People’s Congress. The practitioners were told to use bribes to get released. Since Ms. Gao Yumin appeared to be dying, Pei Xiaodong from the national security team (in order to evade being held responsible for beating a pregnant woman, had her released. After eight days in the hospital, Gao Yumin went home to be taken care of.

On December 15, 2008, Fujin City Public Security Bureau police again broke into Ms. Gao Yumin’s home and arrested her. Late that evening, she was taken to Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi. The police told her that she still had several months left to complete from her previous term in 2007. Since this was a completion of a previous case, they did not need to go through any procedures. In the forced labor camp, however, the officials told her that Fujin Public Security Bureau had sentenced her to two more years. The Jiamusi camp officials even said, “This kind of overlapping punishment by the Fujin City authorities is completely illegal.”
