Mr. Yang Jiangwei Imprisoned Since 2008, Family Visitations Denied

November 19, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Mr. Yang Jiangwei, a Falun Gong practitioner in Huludao City, was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2008. He is still in prison and his family members are not allowed to visit him.

Mr. Yang Jiangwei, from Suizhong County, Huludao City, was previously an employee of an electrical power department. He was a hard worker, and a key employee at his workplace. Whatever work he was required to do, he did it well and promptly. After the persecution began in 1999, Mr. Yang was arrested and taken to Huludao City Forced Labor Camp many times. In 2005, while at the forced labor camp, he was tortured until he was in critical condition.

Just a month after his marriage in February 2008, Mr. Yang was arrested at home and later sentenced to ten years in prison. In over ten years, he has only been home for two holidays. The remainder of the time he has been in prison, where he has suffered greatly.

Early in May 2012, Mr. Yang Jiangwei was transferred to Nanguanling Prison, Dalian City from Panjin Prison. In mid-June, his family members got a phone call telling them to go visit him. They learned that the guards have been subjecting him to brutal brainwashing in an attempt to force him to renounce his belief.

Within the next few months, Mr. Yang's wife, sister, and father traveled hundreds of miles to visit him on Thursdays, the official visiting day; but each time, their visit has been rejected by the guards. At the end of October, his father, in his seventies, went to the prison area a day in advance and stayed in a hotel. Early in the morning the next day, he waited in the audience room until 10:30 a.m. An officer, who claimed to be the chief in charge of Mr. Yang, said that he was not mentally stable and denied the visit. The elderly father had to leave, alone, in desolation.

It has become cold and Mr. Yang's family members are worried about him. Over 1,000 yuan left at the Panjin Prison has not been transferred to the prison where he is currently held.

It would be helpful if Dalian practitioners investigate the status of Mr. Yang and the contact information, including the names and telephone numbers, of the guards at Nanguanling Prison, Dalian City so that practitioners can clarify the truth to them. His family members now feel lonely and desperate. They need help and support from fellow practitioners in Huludao City.
