(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiaoman and Ms. Zhang Lanying were illegally sentenced to two years and one year of forced labor, respectively. They are from Jinshantun District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province and have already been taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's Labor Camp (in Harbin City).

During the morning of June 26, 2012, Ms. Zhang Xiaoman was taken from her home by several police officers with the excuse that some people had reported her. Her home was also ransacked and her computer and cell phone were confiscated. That afternoon, while Ms. Zhang Lanying was at work at her brick factory, her home was ransacked by several police officers, who confiscated her Dafa books.

The two practitioners were imprisoned at the police department and suffered brutal torture to extort false confessions. Ms. Zhang Lanying was beaten so badly that she was injured all over. The police took her to a hospital for an examination, as Ms. Zhang was holding her abdomen in pain. They were imprisoned at the Wumahe Detention Center for more than 10 days and made to do forced labor.

During the more than 10 years of persecution, Falun Gong practitioners at Jinshantun District,in Yichun City, have been arrested, beaten, and sentenced to jail or labor camps nearly 100 times. Wang Xinchun, a young man from Fengmao Forest Farm, lost both feet as a result of severe torture. Shi Yinghua, a teacher at Jinshan Forest Farm, had a mental breakdown from the brutal persecution. Lu Chenglin, of the Telephone Bureau, died at a young age from being tortured. Qin Yueming, a self-employed waste recycling worker, died at a young age from torture, too.

Below are the stories of Ms. Zhang Xiaoman and Ms. Zhang Lanying, followed by some instances of the persecution they suffered:

Ms. Zhang Xiaoman, 46 years old and a college graduate, lives in Jinshantun District, Yichun City. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996 and benefited both physically and mentally. She is kind and optimistic and never cares about personal gain or loss. She helps her relatives and friends—whoever needs her help. She is filial to her parents and frequently washed clothes and cooked meals for them. Her parents, relatives, and friends all have positive reviews about her.

Ms. Zhang Lanying, 53 years old, also lives in the Jinshantun District, Yichun City. She once had a stomach disease and tried many medicines, but they could only alleviate her pain, not cure her. She started practicing Falun Gong in spring 1998 and followed Dafa's standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, requiring herself to look inside herself for shortcomings when encountering troubles. Her stomach disease was completely gone through her consistent Fa-study and practicing exercises. Seeing that she had become healthy, her relatives practiced Falun Gong together with her.

Ms. Zhang Lanying and her husband manage a brick factory. She would boil water for the workers to drink during break. She treated them kindly and helped with their requests so the workers all respected her very much.

In 1999—when Jiang Zemin and his cohorts started persecuting Falun Gong with all kinds of means, Ms. Zhang Xiaoman went to Beijing to appeal on July 22. She was arrested. She was forcibly taken back to Yichun and illegally imprisoned for 10 days before being released.

In early October 1999, several dozen Falun Gong practitioners were arrested consecutively and imprisoned at the Jinshantun Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Xiaoman and several dozen other practitioners went to the Appeal Office of Jinshantun District to request the release of those imprisoned practitioners. She was forcibly taken to the Police Department. Ms. Zhang Lanying was also arrested that afternoon when she went to visit the imprisoned practitioners. Zhang Xingguo and Xiao Jingyu from the Political Security Section used torture to extort confession from Falun Gong practitioners. At night the deputy director of the police department, Meng Xianhua, forced practitioners to swallow unknown drugs. Later on four practitioners including Ms. Zhang Xiaoman were detained.

On the eve of the Chinese New Year in 2000, Ms. Zhang Xiaoman and her husband and child went to her parent-in-law's home to celebrate. At about 8 in the morning she was arrested and taken to the detention center by several police officers from Jinshantun Fendou Police Station. Zhang Xingguo and Xiao Jingyu tortured her to extort a false confession and imprisoned her for more than 30 days. Eventually she was released after being extorted 1000 yuan by Zhang Xingguo.

On May 11, 2000, communist officials and the police department cooperated in arresting several dozen Falun Gong practitioners in the morning. The practitioners were taken to the conference room at the police department and monitored around the clock. Ms. Zhang Xiaoman was illegally imprisoned for more than one month before being released.

In early December of 2000, Ms. Zhang Xiaoman was arrested by plainclothes officers at Jinzhou railway station when she took the train to go to Beijing to appeal. She was body-searched and her home was ransacked. She was taken to Jinshantun Detention Center a few days later.

In mid-December of 2000, Ms. Zhang Lanying pulled out a banner stating “Falun Dafa is good” at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The police officers at the square fiercely beat her head and body with small clubs, causing purple and black bruises. The officers dragged Ms. Zhang into a police vehicle and took her to the Yichun Liaison Office in Beijing where Xiao Jingyu searched her and stole cash from her pocket. Several days later she was taken to the detention center and her home was ransacked.

More than ten days later the police imposed a year and a half forced labor sentence on Ms. Zhang Xiaoman and Ms. Zhang Lanying. They were imprisoned at Heilongjiang Drug-rehabilitation Forced Labor Camp. Currently Ms. Zhang Xiaoman and Ms. Zhang Lanying have been persecuted at Heilongjiang Drug-rehabilitation Forced Labor Camp for three months. Their family members went to visit them, but the visits were strictly monitored. Due to the tight control of the labor camp, the details of the persecution they suffer there still await further investigation.
