Additional Persecution News from China – August 18, 2012 (27 Reports)
(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Jie Passes Away Due to Persecution
Ms. Xu Jie, 76, retired from Taiping Group Corporation. A group of police officers ransacked her home on the evening of August 15, 2012. Her hypertension relapsed and she died on the way to the hospital.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hao Qiujing Arrested; Home Ransacked
Ms. Hao Qiujing from Dalian Development Zone was arrested at the school gate while sending her child to school on July 6, 2012. Officers from the Huanghai Road Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Hao's home was also ransacked.
3. [Boli County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tang Yuqin Detained
Ms. Tang Yuqin from Boli County was arrested on August 16, 2012, when she went to the local 610 Office to ask for her salary back. She is being held at the Boli Detention Center.
Ms. Tang, 59, is a retired teacher of the Tiexi School in Boli County. Her salary has been withheld for 6 years because she practices Falun Gong.

4. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuying Detained
Ms. Li Shuying from Xingjiatun Village was arrested by 6 officers from the Xingshan Town Police Station in Shuangcheng City on August 13, 2012. Her two computers, printer and other items were confiscated. She is being held at the Yaziquan Detention Center in Harbin City.
5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Tong Yusheng Detained
Mr. Tong Yusheng, a retired postman from Gaoqiao County, was arrested by officers from the Gaoqiao Police Station on July 25, 2012, when he was putting up posters with information about Falun Gong. Mr. Tong's home was also ransacked. He was sent to the Huludao Detention Center.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Han Jian Sent to Brainwashing Center
Mr. Han Jian from Longtan District was arrested at home by the local police on August 17, 2012. He is being held at a brainwashing center located at the Xiaoguangsishe Social Welfare Home in Shahezi Town, Chuanying District, Jilin Province.

7. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Cui Guoyi and Mr. Chen Liguo Arrested
Mr. Cui, 58, and Mr. Chen, 54, were arrested by officers from the Jiangbei Police Department.

8. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yu Jiyou and His Wife Detained
Mr. Yu Jiyou and his wife, Ms. Xu Guihong, from Hulin City were arrested on July 20, 2012. They are being held at the Dongfanghong Detention Center.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Pan Wenli Detained
Ms. Pan Wenli, nearly 60, was arrested by officers from the Sankeshu Police Station on August 14, 2012, while she spoke to people about Falun Gong in Daowai District. She is being held at the Yazijuan Detention Center in Harbin City. Officers from the Minqiang Police Station in Daowai District ransacked her home on August 17 and confiscated her computer.

10. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ji Deguang Detained
Mr. Ji Deguang from Yingkou was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian District Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of August 13, 2012. He is being held at the Yingkou Detention Center.
11. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Fengrong and Ms. Yao Tiemei Held at Brainwashing Centers
Ms. Zhang Fengrong and Ms. Yao Tiemei, both from Mishan City, were arrested on their way to work on August 15, 2012. Zhang Zhiming, head of the Mudanjiang Agricultural Authority 610 Office in 8511 Farm, and police officer Li Dong carried out the arrests. The practitioners' homes were also ransacked, and their computers and other items were confiscated. Ms. Zhang is being detained at the Qinglongshan Farm Brainwashing Center in Jiansanjiang Agricultural Authority. Ms. Yao is being detained in the Mishan Brainwashing Center.

13. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zuo Yulan, Mr. Zhang Guangying, Mr. Jin Yuqiang and Mr. Ma Zhaojian from Shengzhuang Town in Tai'an City were arrested on August 1, 2012.
14. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Detained
Mr. Zheng Xingquan, Mr. Guo Shengli, Ms. Yang Lichun and Ms. Yang Liqun from Xinxiang City were arrested by officers from the No.2 Team of the Zhengzhou City Railway Police Department's Domestic Security Division. They have been held in the Xingxiang Detention Center for more than a month.

16. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Qinghong and His Wife Detained
Mr. Li Qinghong and his wife from Lilou Village, Dongli Town, Xiajin County, were arrested by officers from the Lilou Police Station. The couple has been transferred to the Xiajin Detention Center.

17. [Hailai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Lianhong Arrested
Ms. Zhang Lianhong was arrested by officers from the Xinbao Town Police Station on August 16, 2012, when she spoke to people about Falun Gong in Dingzhouying Village, Hailai County. She was released after being forced to pay 13,000 yuan.
18. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Dianlan Sent to Forced Labor Camp for 1-Year Term
Ms. Li Dianlan from Jinnan District, Tianjin, was arrested near Beizhakou High School on June 12, 2012. She was detained at the Beizhakou Police Station and then transferred to the Jinnan Detention Center for 15 days. Afterward, she was illegally sentenced to 1 year of forced labor and taken to Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp in Dagang District, Tianjin.
19. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Zhifang and Ms. Tan Xiujuan Detained
Ms. Li Zhifang and Ms. Tan Xiujuan from Zhifu District, Yantai, were arrested by plainclothes police on the afternoon of August 9, 2012. They were transferred from the Bianfang Police Station to the Laishan District Detention Center the same evening.
20. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yuan Youzhi Arrested
Ms. Yuan Youzhi, over 70, from Dingcheng District, was followed by police when she clarified the facts about Falun Gong to people on August 15, 2012. Her home was ransacked the same evening. On August 17, she was arrested by officials from the Caoping Town General Management Office and the 610 Office.

21. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Shengquan Sent to Prison for 4-Year Term
Mr. Zhang Shengquan from Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, was arrested on February 16, 2012, and held at the Huayan Detention Center. He was illegally sentenced to 4 years in prison and has been transferred to the No. 12 Ward in Yongchuan Prison.
Previously, Mr. Zhang had been arrested on November 16, 2010, and held at the Huayan Detention Center for 10 months; he was released in September 2011.
22. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Meixia Transferred from Brainwashing Center to Detention Center
Ms. Dai Meixia was arrested by Chen Honggang, deputy head of Huangmei Police Department, and Huang Wei from the Domestic Security Division on May 10, 2012. She was detained at a brainwashing center in Wuhan City Legal Education Institute for 2 months.
Ms. Dai was transferred to the Huangmei Detention Center a month ago. Police tried to extort 5,000 yuan from her family, but the family refused to pay.

23. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Jian Yicong Forced to Sign Police Document
Officers from the Huangxu Police Station in Jingyang District and Hong Qi, chief of the Jingyang Domestic Security Division, burst into Mr. Jian Yicong's home on August 14, 2012, and forced him to sign on the document they prepared, intending to frame him and sentence him to prison.
24. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Many Practitioners Arrested
Police burst into Ms. Qin Xiaoping's house around midnight on August 13, 2012, and arrested her and her husband. The couple's whereabouts are currently unknown. Their school-age child has been left home alone.
Police from Qixing District, Guilin City, arrested Ms. He Zhanfen, Ms. He Lingrong, Ms. Wang Yangjiao, Ms. Wang Xiuzhen, Ms. Yu and others. The practitioners' Falun Gong DVDs and other items were confiscated, and police extorted between 10,000 and 20,000 yuan from their families. Those arrested are between 60 and 70 years old; they have since been released.
25. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Wenping Sent to Brainwashing Center
Mr. Liu Wenping from Zhifang Street, Jiangxia District, was arrested at home on the morning of August 17, 2012. His home was ransacked, and his printer, computer and printing paper were confiscated. The police left a note saying that he was taken to the Hubei Brainwashing Center.
26. [E'meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tan Chunxiu and Ms. Liu Lizhen Arrested
Ms. Tan Chunxiu and Ms. Liu Lizhen from Hengyan City, Hunan Province, were arrested in E'meishan City.
27. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xu Junli, Mr. Xie Liangfu and Mr. Zhou Jinba Arrested
Mr. Xu Junli, Mr. Xie Liangfu and Mr. Zhou Jinba from Pengzhou City were arrested by 3 plainclothes policemen in Tangchang Town, Pi County, while they clarified the facts about Falun Gong and distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.
