Canadian MP Sees Increasing Evidence of Organ Harvesting (Photo)

(Minghui.org) In an interview on October 19, 2012 Canadian MP Rob Anders said he was heartened to hear that 106 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives had taken a position with regard to the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. He said that China is the largest human rights violator in the world, and we must call for an end to such human rights violations as forced organ harvesting.

Increasing Evidence of Organ Harvesting Revealed

MP Anders said, “I was first made aware of these issues when stories surfaced just previous to David Matas and David Kilgour doing their report 'Bloody Harvest' regarding organ harvesting. And, I think, what they found were correlations beyond a shadow of a doubt that these things are going on and now more and more we are seeing evidence of actual surgeons and various people involved in these practices.”

“So, it is high time that it gets a lot of attention and we call on China to end the practice for sure,” he said.

Speaking of urging the American government to reveal the documents that Wang Lijun transmitted to them regarding organ harvesting Mr. Anders said, “I think the more information is released about organ harvesting and about some of the Chinese human rights abuses, the better.”

Falun Gong's Wide Dissemination Is Hope for Cultural Renewal

Talking about Falun Gong, MP Anders said, “I am glad to hear that Falun Gong is widely practiced and followed in China. I think that is a great hope for a cultural renewal. I don't think that communism is something that makes sense. I think it was imported by people like Marx, Lenin and Stalin and Mao. And I don't think that is something that is engrained in Chinese culture. Chinese culture is far richer and deeper than anything that communism has given to it in the last 100 years.”

“I would like to see them embrace something that fits more with their identity of who they are than some sort of grafted form of communism. So I am hopeful that as people find out more about the various human rights atrocities, including organ harvesting, that have been perpetuated against Falun Gong practitioners, the people in China will be incensed and they will ask for an end to the corruption and an end to the regime that has been doing that.”

Canadian Foreign Aid Used by the CCP to Persecute Falun Gong

Speaking of Canada's foreign aid to China, MP Anders holds different opinions. He said, “We still send foreign aid to China. We are helping them develop a statistics program--with the way they track people in China. They have spent more money on internal security than they even do on their external security. I think giving them money for their statistics is only a means to track down their citizens and Falun Gong practitioners more efficiently. I don't think that's really helping the cause for reforms in China.”

MP Anders hopes the media will continue to cover China's human rights violations. He said, “I am always heartened whenever a reporter is asking me questions concerning these issues. There is no doubt in my mind that China is the largest human rights violator in the world, and I think it is very important that people keep that front and center, and that the media keep those stories alive.”
