(Minghui.org) Ms. Jiang Meilan was arrested at her home by officers from the Xintian County Domestic Security Team on September 7, 2012. She was taken to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City. By the end of September, Ms. Jiang was in critical condition. Her family picked her up from the brainwashing center on October 1 and took her to the hospital for emergency treatment. Ms. Jiang passed away the next day, at the age of 65. More detailed information will be provided after further investigation.
When Ms. Jiang's son was picking her up from the brainwashing center, Ms. Jiang was incoherent. She did not recognize anybody, including her son. Ms. Jiang's son took her back to Xintian County and sent her to a hospital right away.
The hospital examined Ms. Jiang and found that she was bruised all over-- a result of being beaten with electric batons. Her mouth was festering and all her organs were deteriorating. Her lower body was bleeding. The hospital refused to admit her. Ms. Jiang's son insisted, and the hospital reluctantly admitted Ms. Jiang.
Ms. Jiang passed away at midnight on October 2. Her family and relatives saw her body. It was too horrible to endure.
Ms. Jiang was healthy before the arrest. Her family went to the local 610 Office, asking, “Why did you torture her to death? What was her crime?” They answered, “It is Hu Jintao (Chinese Communist Party dictator) who told us to arrest people. Go talk to Hu if you are able.”
The Laodaohe Brainwashing Center is located in Zhongling Village, Laodaohe Town, Kaifu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. The Hunan Province 610 Office bought the facility in 2002 and has been using it to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners. Hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners from Hunan have been detained in this facility over the past decade.
He Xin was appointed the head of the Xintian County 610 Office in early 2011. He and the deputy head, Liao Tingni, collaborate with officers from the Xintian County Domestic Security Team, and often break into Falun Gong practitioners' homes, harassing and intimidating them. They broke into Ms. Jiang Meilan's home twice in November 2011, in an attempt to take her to the brainwashing center. Their attempts failed as Ms. Jiang was not at home both times. Under the order from the Xintian County 610 Office, five officers from the Xintian County Domestic Security Team, including chief Tang Chongsheng, Yang Haibo, Li Fang, arrested Ms. Jiang at home on September 7, 2012.
