(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Cao Yuzhen, 65, lives in the neighborhood of Dongyidao Street in Dehui City with her daughter. The Dehui City Domestic Security Team has been unlawfully detaining her since June 16, 2011 because of her practice of Falun Gong. She is being detained at the First Brigade, Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Changchun.
Around 8 p.m. on June 16th this year, the Dehui Domestic Security Team, teaming up with police from the Zhenxing Police Station, intruded into Ms. Cao’s home. Arriving in three vehicles, a dozen policemen broke into her home and arrested her. They took away personal belongings, including a computer, and ransacked her home. The police's actions stirred up uneasiness among the neighbors and frightened her granddaughter.
The police took her to the Changchun Women's Detention Center to stay overnight. Fifteen days later, the legal department of the Dehui Police Department sentenced her to serve a year and a half of forced labor.
Ms. Cao Yuzhen demanded to be set free unconditionally, for she knew that practicing Falun Gong was her right. That same day, police brought Ms. Cao back to the Zhenxing Station and asked her son to come there. Police not only refused to release her, but outrageously demanded that she renounce her faith as the condition of her release. Ms Cao refused on the spot.
Later, police detained her at the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp.
Ms. Cao Yuzhen began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Prior to practicing Falun Gong, she was weak and frequently ill. After practicing, her illnesses were healed. After July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began its persecution of Falun Gong, like millions of other practitioners, she firmly persisted in practicing Falun Dafa, and was thus detained by the Dehui Domestic Security Team for fifteen days in 1999.
