Practitioners in Hunan Province Assaulted at Changde Prison

September 04, 2011 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Luo Xiangjiang, Mr. Tang Peilin and Mr. Lu Songming from Xiangtan, Hunan Province were recently severely beaten and tortured by guards and inmates at the Changde Prison. Mr. Tang lost four teeth. The perpetrators forced human feces into Mr. Lu’s mouth. The guards used extreme violence to force the practitioners to renounce their faith in order to get monetary rewards.

Mr. Luo Xiangjiang is about 50. Yuhu and Yuetang Domestic Security Division agents in Xiangtan ransacked his home in September 2009. The police then arrested him and sent him to the Xiangtan City Detention Center. He was sentenced to three years in prison on January 14, 2010 and transferred to the Jishi Prison in Changde. Shortly after that, the guards told several criminal inmates to beat him, leading to badly swollen eyes. He was forced to stay exposed to the cold wind for three days and work at the same time.

Zhou Yongkang, the high-ranking official from the central regime office responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong, came to Hunan in June 2011. His mission was to intensify the persecution. After Zhou’s visit, the prison designated a special jail cell for Falun Gong practitioners. As soon as Mr. Luo Xiangjiang was sent there on June 8, the evildoers beat him viciously and deprived him of sleep. The violence left him with swollen eyes. He was forced to write the “Four Statements” to renounce his belief against his will and was sent back to his old cell on June 28.

Mr. Tang Peilin is in his 60s. He was arrested at home prior to the Beijing Olympics, on August 5, 2008. Participating in the arrest were Domestic Security agents from the Yue Tang and Yuhu Police Branch. The police sent him to Xiangtan City Detention Center. He was given a three-year sentence and was sent to the Jinshi Prison in Changde City in February 2009. On June 16, 2011, he was forced into a special cell, tied up, beaten and deprived of sleep. He lost four teeth from the beating. His eyes were badly hurt after the thugs scratched them. The torture did not stop until he wrote the “Four Statements” against his will. Mr. Tang later realized he had made a mistake and told the guards he was recanting the “Four Statements.” The guards said, “We have already received our monetary reward. Who cares if you recant?” Mr. Tang was released on August 3, 2011.

Mr. Lu Songming was subjected to similar torture. Criminal inmates beat him and forced him to swallow human feces. Earlier this year, the guards told his family members to help “transform” him. The family would not participate.
