Huludao City Police Arrest a Number of Falun Gong Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Police from Huludao City, Liaoning Province have recently arrested a number of Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners include Ms. Li Chunqin, Mr. He Yong, Ms. Li Xiuyan, and Mr. Han Boli.

Under orders from the Liaoning Province Police Department, officers from the Huludao City Police Department, the Suizhong County Domestic Security Division, the Wangjiadian Township Police Station, and the Qiuzigou Township Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Li Chunqin at around 2:00 p.m. on August 29, 2011, citing that she had visited overseas websites on the Internet. The police also ransacked her home.

Mr. He Yong from Nanpiao District was arrested at home around 2:30 p.m. on August 29.

Ms. Li Xiuyan and her husband Mr. Han Boli, from Huagong Area, Huludao City, were taken to the Huagong Police Station between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. that same day. The police ransacked their home and took their computers, video discs, and Falun Gong materials. The couple are currently being held in the Huludao City Detention Center.

In addition, 13 officers from the Xingcheng City Bureau of Radio and Television, the Xingcheng City Police Department, and the Haibin Township Police Station broke into Ms. Pei Jinlan’s home at around 10:00 a.m. and took many of her personal belongings, including a television receiver, two radio-frequency heads, three photographs of the founder of Falun Gong, an MP3 player, and two copies of Minghui Weekly. An evidence registration form was left at her home which was sealed by the Xingcheng City Bureau of Radio and Television.

Ms. Tian Liping’s family was informed by the Xingcheng City Court that practitioners Ms. Tian Liping, Ms. Li Chunqing, and Ms. Jiang Xiulan from Suizhong County would be tried on either September 8 or September 9, 2011.

The police also took several practitioners’ television receiver equipment. Furthermore, some practitioners were harassed simply because they visited the Minghui website.
