Name: Xie Zhiying (谢志英)
Gender: Female
Age: 52
Address: Unknown
Occupation: Government employee of Akasu Tax Bureau
Date of Death: August 6, 2011
Date of Most Recent Arrest: 2001
Most Recent Place of Detention: Alar Mental Hospital (新疆阿拉尔精神病院 )
City: Aksu
Province: Xinjiang Region
Persecution Suffered: Electric shock, sleep deprivation, forced labor, brainwashing, illegal sentencing, forced injections/drug administration, beatings, solitary confinement, detainment and abuse at mental hospital, denial of restroom use, denied visitation
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xie Zhiying, born in Henan Province, was a cadre of Aksu Tax Bureau in Xinjiang Province. She was detained in a mental hospital twice without reason, just for cultivating Falun Gong. Her employer, under the influence of the local 610 Office, held her captive seven years without the right of visitation of her family. She died suddenly on August 6, 2011, but the 610 Office authorities have not allowed her family to see the body.
Before cultivating Falun Gong, Ms. Xie was a very kind person and an accomplished employee. But suddenly she suffered an unknown disease that left her unable to walk. All sorts of medicine had been of no use. Her life came to a turning point in 1997, after her mother, Yuan Jingyun, began to practice Falun Gong and encouraged her to give it a try. Within one month, a miracle happened, as Ms. Xie could walk! She treasured this second life, firmly cultivating her heart and mind.
After the persecution began in 1999, her employer and colleagues, based on false presumptions, misunderstood her completely, to the point of forcing her into a mental hospital. Though perfectly normal, she was tortured violently in Alar City Mental Hospital, including electric baton abuses, forced-feedings, high-dosed drug injections, solitary confinement, denied family visitations and more. She was said to need the so-called “close treatment,” which necessitated the so-called “psychiatric treatment” of forced brainwashing, no less. None of these tortures, however, netted the persecutors the intended effect.
Torture re-enactment: Electric baton shocks
After being released from the mental hospital, she went to Beijing to appeal. Aksu City Domestic Security sentenced her three years forced labor in 2001, which she served in Wulapo Forced Labor Camp. She was transferred to a newly built women's forced labor camp in November 2002. Ms. Xie was subjected to violent brainwashing during her captivity, along with other abuses, including electric baton shock, sleep and bathroom deprivation, starvation, lengthy forced standing time, brutal beatings, and profanity from drug-addicted prisoners.
Ms. Xie refused to cooperate with the persecutors in multiple ways, including refusals to read or watch anything slanderous of Falun Gong, to shout numbers as asked, to wear a name tag, to sing evil songs, to recite prison regulations, or follow labor dictates. She also went on hunger strike to protest the physical torture and brutal beatings. On one occasion the camp held a meeting, where all inmates watched her being dragged into the meeting hall. Guards were nonetheless unable to force her into joining the meeting. Others also witnessed how she was dragged to the dining hall during a hunger strike. Her acts in open defiance of the persecution strongly shocked the evil persecutors, and encouraged those practitioners who had said words against their conscience to speak the truth.
After first coming back from the labor camp, officers constantly harassed her and soon took her to Alar Mental Hospital again. Her family was deprived their right to visit her. Several months after her release, she lost the ability to speak. Her employer also withheld her salary and deprived her free liberty. Someone was assigned to watch her all day, as she endured such a state of isolation in her home since 2004.
Over the past seven years, her husband could not visit her due to CCP Political & Judiciary Committee. They were forced to live separated. Her son, too, was not allowed to visit her. Meanwhile, her mother Yuan Jingyun refused to accept brainwashing of her own, and went to Beijing to appeal. She was arrested in Beijing and sent to forced labor. Upon release, she was closely watched by her employer—Wushi County Tax Bureau. Her brother Xie Zhiming was twice sent to forced labor due to practicing Falun Gong. He was under custody of his employer for eight months, and sent to brainwashing once. He once met secretly with a person who watched Ms. Xie Zhiying, to learn that his sister's isolation at home was ordered by the 610 Office, and conducted by her employer.
Ms. Xie's mother suffered a fall in late May 2011, leaving her unable to walk or take care of herself. Her son was allowed to pick her up, and live with her. She worried about her daughter. On June 23, 2011, she sued Aksu prefecture 610 Office chair Bao Liqun for not allowing her to see her daughter. She was notified on June 28, 2011, that she could see her daughter accompanied by her son.
More than a dozen officers surrounded their visit, and urged them to leave after only half an hour. Ms. Yuan insisted on her right to eat and sleep in her daughter's home, and allow her daughter to cook a meal. With so many officers gathered in her home, Ms. Xie appeared threatened, opening her mouth upon receiving her mother's embrace, but was unable to actually say “Mom.” Her mother kept hugging the daughter, who was shivering, and tried to calm her down while offering encouragement. When she heard her mother mention food, she cooked a simple meal, and quietly ate with her mother and brother.
Ms. Yuan requested to sleep at her daughter's place. Yang Jing, the prefecture 610 Office chair, said they must be monitored by five persons simultaneously, or they would take Ms. Yuan back to Wushi City. Finally Yang Jing declared that if the family wanted to see each other, multiple officers must be present. The reason fabricated and cited was to prevent Ms. Xie's escape, as she was insane, or may kill her family when together.
Alarmed by such wild statements about her daughter, Ms. Yuan even worried more about her daughter's safety. They repeatedly requested to see Ms. Xie Zhiying often, and allow their family's reunion. Wang Jihong, the Aksu City 610 Office chair, demanded that each of them write guarantee statements promising not to pass out flyers or contact fellow practitioners. Refusing to do so, all Ms. Yuan and Mr. Xie's requests were denied.
Only 39 days later, on August 6, 2011, police suddenly announced that Ms. Xie Zhiying had died. Without any family present, the police ordered an autopsy, later notifying her husband of the result. They informed her mother that she was not allowed to see her daughter's body. When her brother Mr. Xie Zhiming went to Aksu Prefecture 610 Office, the gatekeeper stated, “The 610 Office has ordered that no one with the last name Xie is allowed to enter.”
Name: Yang Mingli (杨明立)
Gender: Male
Age: 60
Address: Shuangyang District, Changchun City, Jilin Province (吉林省长春市双阳区)
Date of Death: May 10, 2011
Date of Most Recent Arrest: December 18, 2004
Most Recent Place of Detention: Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp (朝阳沟劳教所)
City: Changchun (长春)
Province: Jilin (吉林)
Persecution Suffered: Forced labor, illegal sentencing, beatings, solitary confinement, torture, force-feedings, home ransacked, detention
(Clearwisdom.net) After suffering a year of persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in a forced labor camp, Yang Mingli was released into his younger brother's custody. Yang Mingli had to be carried down on his younger brother's back from the third floor of the labor camp building. He was not able to recover from the torture he had suffered, and passed away on May 10, 2011.
Before becoming a Falun Gong practitioner on October 14, 1998, his health was poor. He had neurasthenia, as well as kidney problems and high blood pressure. He was unable to sleep a full night, and for the 18 months prior to becoming a practitioner, was not able to have salt, since it caused blood in his stool. He recovered completely from these problems soon after he started practicing Falun Gong. Everyone at his office and factory, and several hospital staff heard of his miraculous recovery.
On April 25, 1999, Yang Mingli joined fellow practitioners in Tianjin City to appeal for the release of arrested Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP officially began their campaign of persecution against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Yang Mingli began clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at work. When his manager told Falun Gong practitioners to watch the self-immolation video, he knew that it was a fake, and was able to point out the deception to his fellow practitioners.
Yang Mingli was seen practicing Falun Gong exercises outdoors in July 2000, and was arrested and put behind bars for 15 days. After his release, he continued clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa at work, which put him in danger of further persecution. In order to keep his freedom, he quit his job and became homeless.
On May 25, 2001, Yang Mingli went with a fellow practitioner to visit a dying practitioner at the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center in Changchun. They were arrested on the spot and brutally beaten. Zhang, one of the guards, spent the entire afternoon beating Yang Mingli. The following day, another guard took over to continue the beatings.
A week later, Yang Mingli was transferred to Weizigou Forced Labor Camp, where for eight months he was detained and persecuted so severely that he was close to death. He was then taken to a prison hospital in Jilin Province, where he was held for a month. He was then allowed to go home on bail. After he returned home, he resumed studying the Fa and performing the exercises, and his health gradually returned to normal.
On December 18, 2004, Yang Mingli was arrested at his apartment by officers from Nanhu Police Station. The arrest was organized by officer Cui, who proceeded to ransack Yang Mingli's home, turning everything upside down and confiscating Dafa books and truth clarification flyers. Later that night, Mr. Yang was interrogated by a particularly brutal officer who was intent on finding out who produced the materials he had in his possession. Mr. Yang was severely beaten, but still refused to say anything. That same night, Mr. Yang was transported to Changchun's Second Detention Center. Mr. Yang went on hunger strike for a week. It was during his hunger strike that Mr. Yang was cruelly force-fed with salt.
Re-enactment of the barbarous force feedings
Yang Mingli was later transferred to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp for a year. While at the labor camp, Mr. Yang was continually tortured, and his blood pressure skyrocketed to 240. When his one-year term ended, personnel from the Sheungyang District political protection department wanted to send him to Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center since he had not been successfully "transformed.” But Yang Mingli's younger brother was able to persuade the officials involved against this course of action, and Yang Mingli was released. On December 20, 2005, Yang Mingli was carried on his younger brother's back from the building's third floor.
After returning home, Yang Mingli's elder sister arranged a full physical examination for him. He was diagnosed with chronic nephritis, a cerebral infarction, and hypertension.
Even though he was cruelly imprisoned at various labor camps and detention centers, he never stopped cultivating Dafa, and never gave in to the torturers' demands to make a statement promising to stop practicing Falun Dafa.
Yang Mingli had difficulty speaking, and seldom communicated with others. His health gradually deteriorated, and he passed away on May 10, 2011.
Name: Bai Sanyuan (白三元)
Gender: Male
Age: 47
Address: Jinxia Village, Pingbao Township, Jingyuan County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province
Occupation: Farmer
Date of Most Recent Arrest: May 16, 2010
Most Recent Place of Detention: Lanzhou Prison (兰州监狱)
City: Lanzhou
Province: Gansu
Persecution Suffered: Sleep deprivation, illegal sentencing, imprisonment, torture, force-feedings, physical restraint, home ransacked, interrogation, detention
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Bai Sanyuan, from Jingyuan County, Gansu Province, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2010, by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) court system. He has been tortured in the Lanzhou Prison and is suffering from anemia, gallstones, obstructive jaundice, and is in critical condition.
Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Bai has been repeatedly arrested and imprisoned cby the CCP. He has been twice sentenced for a total of nine years in prison. He has been inhumanely tortured in prison and detention centers, and has barely survived. At one point, his entire body was paralyzed, and he could only slightly move his little finger. He was so thin that his the bones were visible, and his roommates at the hospital called him a “living skeleton.” Every time he was released from prison, he was disabled. After his release, his home was repeatedly raided and he was forced to be displaced.
On May 16, 2010, Jingyuan County Public Security Bureau Deputy Director Zhang Mingrui, Domestic Security Team Captain Pan Qianrui, and several other policemen, broke into his home and arrested him. At the Jingyuan County Detention Center, he was twice forced to sit on the "tiger bench." The first time for two days and nights, and the second time for eight days and nights. Consequently, his left leg atrophied and became paralyzed.
Torture re-enactment: Tiger bench
On July 12, 2010, Mr. Bai was illegally sentenced to six years in prison. For six months, he was on a hunger strike. He was taken to the Sixth Ward of Lanzhou Prison and force fed for three months, from November 2010 to January 2011. He was interrogated 15 hours a day, and forced to sit on a stool with a paralyzed left leg. The guards made prison inmates monitor him closely.
Prior to January 13, 2011, the guards at the Sixth Ward, Wang Wei, He Qin, and Yang Jianjun, deprived Mr. Bai of sleep, and used the "enduring the eagle" method to torture him. If he dosed off, they punched him in the neck and flicked his eyeballs with their fingers. Guard Wang Mingyu, grabbed Mr. Bai's ears and shook him back and forth. For eight months Mr. Bai was forced to sit on a stool with a bucket of water hung around his neck. The bucket weighted ten kilos (22 lbs.) and did not allow him to bend backwards. In attempts to “transform” him so that he would renounce his faith, the guards formed an “enforcement management team.” They tortured him, and he was locked in solitary confinement.
On January 13, 2011, as snow fell outside, the guards at the Sixth Ward, Wang Wei, He Qin, and Yang Jianjun, along with prison inmates Wang Mingyu, Dang Libin, Zhang Yonglin, and Ma Yibula, poured water on the concrete floor, and pushed Mr. Bai to the ground. They poured icy cold water into his collar so that his cotton shirt and pants were soaking wet. Mr. Bai's body heat was the only method to dry his clothes. If he dosed off, they splashed water on his face to keep him awake.
Torture re-enactment: Pouring cold water
On July 7, 2011, the Lanzhou Prison political chief, Sixth Ward team leader He Qin, and four others took Mr. Bai home. Shortly after arriving home, Mr. Bai developed egg-size blisters all over his body and head. Mr. Bai has experienced extreme pain around the ribcage and back since July 21. On July 28, he was taken to the Jingyuan County Hospital, but the hospital refused to admit him because of the seriousness of his condition. On July 29, he was admitted to the Lanzhou Hospital ICU. He is currently in critical condition.

(Clearwisdom.net) Qinghua University alumnus Zhang Lianjun was paralyzed and received brain damage as a result of torture by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He was incarcerated in the Fourth Prison of Chifeng on July 25, 2011, and recently completed eight years of wrongful imprisonment. During his imprisonment, he was only allowed to lie in bed, day and night. He was transferred to a hospital, and held under close surveillance by CCP officials. His family was also monitored and followed by unidentified officials.
Zhang Lianjun as a student
Zhang Lianjun is 36 years old. He was a Civil Engineering student at Qinghua University. He was arrested in 2003 by Beijing Domestic Security Division police. Forced to stay in an environment with absolutely no humanity, Mr. Zhang protested by going on a hunger strike. He was subsequently tortured, and was in critical condition. Around August 2003, Beijing Domestic Security Division officials sent Mr. Zhang to the Beijing Police Hospital to undergo brain surgery. The so-called surgery was in fact, torture. His brain's nerve cells were damaged and he began losing control of his eliminations. He became emaciated while in the Beijing Police Hospital. For days and nights, he just laid in bed, not knowing if he was hungry or thirsty. He couldn't stand, sit, nor turn his body. A catheter was inserted in his bladder in order to collect the urine; hospital staff had to help him defecate. He couldn't respond to anyone attempting to talk to him. He was in a lethargic state all day long, without clear consciousness. Even in this condition, he was sentenced to eight years of prison by the CCP Court. For details, please see article “Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Lianjun, a Qinghua University Alumnus, Has Eight-Year Sentence Extended” (http://clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2011/8/10/127387.html).
On July 25, 2011, the fourth prison of Chifeng was surrounded by police vehicles and officers. The prison forbade Zhang Lianjun's family to pick him up, but instead, they arranged for Mr. Zhang to be taken to a van. That day, officials from the Taipingdi Village Political Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office and local Neighborhood Administration Committee were also present.
Zhang's family arranged for treatment in the Chifeng City Hospital. Currently, he is in the surgical area of the 16th floor of Chifeng City Hospital. The medical costs amount to almost 1,000 yuan daily. The Zhang family is not wealthy, and the medical costs are unbearable. Mr. Zhang's parents felt extreme grief and indignation after watching their lively son become so tragically impaired, as a result of his persecution. His family requested explanations from the Political Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office and related departments. At this time, there is no sign of resolution.
Currently in Taipingdi Village, Mr. Zhang's family is closely monitored and followed. Mr. Zhang's hospital room is surrounded by unidentified officials 24 hours daily.
Internal messages disclosed that various personnel “visited” Mr. Zhang in the hospital, including officials from the Chifeng Political Judiciary Committee, Chifeng 610 Office, Songshan District Political Judiciary Committee, Songshang District 610 Office, Taipingdi Area Political Judiciary Committee and 610 Office, and the local Neighborhood Administration Committee.

Name: Kao Fuquan (考福全)
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Address: Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province
Occupation: Unknown
Date of Most Recent Arrest: May 8, 2010
Most Recent Place of Detention: Ji'nan Prison (济南监狱)
City: Jinan
Province: Shandong
Persecution Suffered: Sleep deprivation, brainwashing, illegal sentencing, forced injections/drug administration, beatings, imprisonment, solitary confinement, torture, physical restraint, interrogation, detention
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Kao Fuquan was illegally arrested, then taken to the Lingnan Gold Mine Brainwashing Center on May 8, 2010. During his detention, Ji Xiaodong (brainwashing center director), 610 Office staff members Li Jianguang and Song Shaochang, and criminals hired by the center officials frequently tortured him in order to force him into a "confession." After six months of torture, Mr. Kao's ribs were broken, and he was injected with unknown drugs on multiple occasions. He nearly died at one point.
Mr. Kao was later illegally sentenced and taken to Ji'nan Prison. However, prison officials refused to accept him due to his poor physical condition. The local police subsequently placed him on bail for medical treatment.
The following describes Mr. Kao's torture at the brainwashing center.
At 8:30 a.m. on May 8, 2010, police officers Li Jianguang, Guo (first name unknown, police badge number 047047) and Song Shaochang arrested Mr. Kao. They beat him into unconsciousness, and broke two of his ribs.
Torture re-enactment: Handcuffed on the tiger bench and electric baton shock treatment
Three policemen took Mr. Kao to the Lingnan Gold Mine Brainwashing Center, then tied him to a tiger bench with wire and a steel chain. Mr. Kao was in intense pain in this position due to his broken ribs. The officers beat him on his neck, hands, legs, and feet with a heavy wooden club. He passed out quickly. After he regained consciousness, he couldn't lift his head. The police called in a female doctor (last name Du) to measure Mr. Kao's blood pressure, and subsequently administer unknown drugs. He passed out again, and the officers then began taking turns beating him. The beatings continued until 11:00 p.m. The police then feared that Mr. Kao was dying, and took him to a hospital. After hearing the doctor's report indicating that Mr. Kao's brain was fine, but his neck was injured, the officers took him back to the brainwashing center, then continued the torture and administration of unknown drugs. Three days later, the police took off the chains to allow Mr. Kao to use the toilet. Two men carried him to the bathroom, but he was unable to relieve himself. He was then placed on an iron chair and deprived of sleep for five consecutive days.
During those days, the police locked Mr. Kao in solitary confinement. He couldn't move and suffered from multiple injuries throughout his body. His blood pressure was dangerously elevated, and he hadn't relieved himself for 15 days. Three months later, the police dragged him to the interrogation room and tortured him for two full days. Song Shaochang whipped Mr. Kao with a bundle of wires and yelled, “How many Falun Gong materials have you printed? Where did you print them?” Mr. Kao refused to answer. The police falsified a guarantee statement and forced Mr. Kao's signature.
Mr. Kao was confined in a dark, hot, stuffy room and constantly administered unknown drugs. His health deteriorated. On August 19, 2010, officers took him to the Linglong Hospital for a diagnosis to determine whether or not he was dying. He was diagnosed with coronary heart disease and he'd also suffered a heart attack. He didn't receive medical treatment, and police then took him back to the brainwashing center. On September 18, 2010, Mr. Kao was on the verge of death, so police took him to a hospital. His blood pressure was dangerously elevated and his heartbeat was 240 beats per minute, and he suffered from gallstones, a gallbladder infection, and swollen lungs. The police nonetheless prevented him from receiving medical treatment and insisted on bringing him back to the detention center. However, the detention center refused to receive him due to the extent of his injuries and illness. The officers subsequently placed him in solitary confinement. Mr. Kao was forced to urinate and defecate in the room. The police refused to open the door to allow air circulation in the room.
On November 29, 2010, policemen Song Shaochang and Wang Lifeng entered the solitary confinement room and yelled at Mr. Kao, “You and your family are not allowed to hire a lawyer. A lawyer will not help you. If you write a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong, your sentence will be reduced by several years. If you refuse, you will die here. You will be sentenced to a prison term with or without a lawyer. Save your money and don't hire a lawyer.”
Name: Deng Xiaomin (邓晓敏)

Age: 34
Address: Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province
Occupation: English teacher
Date of Most Recent Arrest: February 13, 2000
Most Recent Place of Detention: Jiangxi Women's Forced Labor Camp (江西省女子劳教所 )
City: Nanchang
Province: Jiangxi
Persecution Suffered: Brutal beating, detention, handcuffed and shackled, brainwashing, forced labor reform, sleep deprivation, hanging, long-term standing, locked up in a small cell, denial of restroom use, denial of shower.
Key Persecutors: Warden Songbo (宋波), Director Wang Junsheng (王俊生)
(Clearwisdom.net) Deng Xiaomin was a teacher and had been working in Baihuazhou School, Jiangling Elementary, Nanchangtie No. 2 Elementary, Nanchang Yuxin School, and Xiaoxingxing English Education Center.
When the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Deng went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was brutally beaten at Tiananmen Square, arrested, and escorted to Nanchang Detention Center. She was held there for over a month, handcuffed and shackled. They attempted to brainwash her, at which time she began a hunger strike, then was later released.
On February 13, 2000, she returned to Beijing for a second time. She was again arrested and escorted back to Nanchang City. The court ignored legal procedures and she was sentenced to three years in a labor camp, the Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Torture Re-enactment: Shocking with an electric baton
While in the labor camp, Ms. Deng began a hunger strike. Guard Wang Junsheng and another guard named Lu knocked her down and shocked her with an electric baton, causing her to pass out. After 40 days on a hunger strike, she was force-fed through a tube pushed through her nose. Her nose bled, her face was swollen and bruised, and the tube was not taken out. Her injured nose continued to bleed frequently during her three years in the labor camp.
Ms. Deng would not give in and continued to practice Falun Dafa even in such a horrific environment. Once the guard handcuffed her to the bed rail, forcing her to stand all night, for two months.
Torture Re-enactment: Handcuffed to the bed rail and standing
The labor camp began to intensify the “transformation” of Ms. Deng at the end of 2000. She refused to give in and was severely persecuted. She was forced to stay in a squatting position in a small dark cell for a long time and was shocked with an electric baton. For over two years, her room had no lights or windows. Her health was failing, and she looked pale. After a lot of high pressure brainwashing, she was mentally unstable. She could no longer take care of herself and did not know to go get food; the other inmates would not help her, and she was often hungry. She also lost the ability to clean herself. Once again, the other inmates would not help her. She was often beaten by the three inmates who closely monitored her and was frequently covered with bruises. Her family insisted they be allowed to take her home, but the labor camp officials would not let them because she refused to be “transformed.”
The severity of her symptoms and the persistence of her illness make us wonder what really happened to her at the hands of the guards in the labor camp.
After she was released from the labor camp in March of 2003, she never recovered. She would wear a hat and sunglasses all year long. Afraid to see anyone or any light, she often displayed irrational behavior. One day she wandered away to Hunan Province. Her family was deathly afraid for her. Fortunately, a kindhearted person helped her and notified the family. Her father had to go bring her home. Her parents have been exhausted worrying about her since her release. Her father is already in his mid 70s.
In January 2011, filled with despair, her parents felt they had no choice but to take her to a mental hospital. It has been eight years since she became mentally unstable and incoherent.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "Solemn Declaration" is a person's public statement to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. These statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wish to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Now, they hereby declare their intention to resume practicing Falun Dafa.
Here are some examples of the Solemn Declarations:

(Clearwisdom.net) The Service Center for Quitting the Party in Philadelphia held a rally on August 13, 2011, to support the 100 million Chinese people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the associated organizations.
The attendees held many banners, which read, “Supporting 100 Million Chinese Withdrawals” “Quit the Party for a Bright Future,” “Chinese People: Wake Up and Recognize the Evil Nature of the CCP” and “Disintegrate the CCP - Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong.” Many local citizens were attracted to the rally. They took photos and listened to the speeches.
Dr. Yang Jingduan, a doctor of psychology from Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, gives a speech.
Dr. Yang Jingduan, a doctor of psychology from Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, spoke at the rally. He pointed out that Chinese people were fearful of the CCP, but the fear has gradually gone away after the publishing of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Chinese people see the evil nature of the CCP and have started to abandon it. Dr. Yang said that more and more Chinese are brave enough to say no to the CCP nowadays.
Dr. Yang said at the end of his speech, “While more than 100 million Chinese people have abandoned the CCP, a handful of Chinese community leaders overseas are still collaborating with the CCP for their own profit.” Dr. Yang called upon those leaders to make right decision for their futures.
George, a local citizen, speaks at the rally
George, a local Philadelphian, said in his speech that China has a profound divine culture, which unfortunately has been ruined by the CCP. He said that many Chinese left China for freedom. As an American, George hopes that Chinese people can have freedom in their own hometowns. He was happy for those Chinese who have quit the party, because this is the best way to gain freedom spiritually.
Ms. Yang, a Chinese Falun Gong practitioner, gave a speech at the rally. When she was in China, she refused to renounce Falun Gong, so in October 2002, she was arrested by the Chinese police. She was locked on an iron chair for 32 days, and passed out. She was later sentenced to a three year prison term. In prison she was forced to do heavy labor 12-18 hours per day. Although she was brutally tortured, Ms. Yang did not hate the police. Instead, she still tried to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to them.
Ms. Yang called upon Chinese people not to remain silent when facing the evil tyrant power. She hopes that Chinese people will wake up, quit the party, and choose a bright future for themselves.
Dr. Nandi Matanda from South Africa passed by the rally, and gave a speech. She said that she had not previously heard about the trend of quitting the party before today, but she had just read the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and was aware of the persecution of Falun Gong. She expressed that people in South Africa have a similar experience, but they were not afraid of the evil power and fought for their rights, thus finally gaining freedom. She was glad that many Chinese people have learned the truth. She wanted to tell the Chinese people that truth can bring them freedom. She called for more attention to the trend of quitting the party and expressed hope that China will be free in the near future.
Many local citizens stopped by the rally and listened to the speeches. Some asked for more detailed information on the trend of quitting the party. Some asked for a copy the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Two gentlemen expressed that they would put what they learned from the rally on their Facebook accounts so that their friends could also learn the truth. A Vietnamese immigrant commented that he knows the evilness of the communist party. He said the best way to disintegrate it is to let more people know that truth about it. Abraham Otro was interested in the trend of quitting the party. He wanted to study the movement and asked for more information.
Several police officers came to the rally. They gave the organizers their phone numbers and said to call them if anyone tries to interfere with the rally. “We appreciate your peaceful resistance,” the officers said.
(Clearwisdom.net) I was born in Linquan County, Anhui Province and am forty-three years old. I went to Shenzheng to work part-time last year. In April, my breast suddenly felt a bit sore, and was worse a few days later. I could feel an egg-sized lump in it, so I quit my job and went home.
When I got home, my mother took me to the hospital. The doctor gave me an examination, but the result was inconclusive. I was asked to go to Fuyang City to have it examined further, and I went there right away. At the Fuyang Oncology Hospital, I was not seen until the afternoon. The doctor said that the equipment was broken, and I would need to wait for two more days to be examined. When I arrived at the hospital two days later, they were still not ready. The next morning I went to Najing and saw a doctor at Gulou Hospital. That doctor told me I had breast cancer and that I needed surgery right away. When I asked her how much would it cost, she replied, “About 120,000 yuan.” I thought, “My goodness, where am I going to get that much money?” I could not believe my ears. I went to another hospital, and the doctor there gave me the same diagnosis.
My sister-in-law told me that a relative of hers had the same problem, and was operated on at the Fubang Hospital. The cost of the procedure was 30-40,000 yuan. I returned home and my father took me to Fubang Hospital. I was given chemotherapy first, and hospitalized for a week. I was asked to come back in two weeks for the surgery.
After my cousin learned about my situation, she asked me to learn Falun Gong. She told me about many cases in which people were cured of serious illnesses after they began cultivating Falun Gong. I agreed to start practicing. She gave me a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, along with a set of DVDs of Teacher’s lectures and the exercise lessons. I began doing the exercises every day. My parents were still concerned. They took me to the hospital three weeks later. The doctor wanted to continue with chemotherapy, but they had trouble finding the right drug. I told my cousin about what had happened at the hospital. She explained that it was Teacher beginning to take care of me and encouraging me to realize that I no longer needed chemotherapy.
I did the exercises every day. Soon my celestial eye opened and Teacher allowed me to have some visions of other dimensions. After the visions, I became more diligent in Fa study. My illness slowly got better. Two months have passed since I began studying Dafa, and I have now totally recovered.
Falun Gong is miraculous. I truly thank Teacher and Dafa for giving me a second life. I will be doubly diligent to learn Dafa and do the three things well. I want to be a true Dafa disciple and repay Teacher. I want to also thank all my fellow practitioners.
(Clearwisdom.net) In July 2011, a young man nicknamed Gao Cheng from a town in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province was driving his motorcycle when he accidentally hit an excavator parked on the road. The hook on the excavator dug into his stomach and opened up a triangular shaped hole in his abdomen, revealing his liver and lungs. His lungs started to bubble out and he instantly stopped breathing.
Gao was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. After seeing his condition however, the doctor told his family to prepare for his funeral. His friends and family were stunned. Gao's mother fainted instantly, but before she lost consciousness, she used her only remaining energy to shout out, "Falun Dafa is good!"
Her shout stunned everyone present. Someone asked, "Is she a Falun Gong practitioner?" Her family members answered that she was not. When Gao's mother regained consciousness, the doctor told her that she had continued shouting "Falun Dafa is good," but she didn't remember doing so.
Gao then started breathing again and Gao's mother asked the doctor to rescue him. The doctor said that his hospital could not properly treat him and that he should be transferred to another hospital. Gao's family was afraid that he would die en route, and continued to beg the doctor to treat Gao. The doctor was uncertain because such a major operation had never been done in such a small hospital. Nevertheless, in light of the urgent situation, he agreed.
A few hours later, Gao regained consciousness. His stomach received 48 stitches and his body was covered with tubes.
A Falun Gong practitioner who knew Gao's mother came to the hospital to visit him after hearing the news, and started telling Gao's family the truth about Falun Gong. The practitioner asked them to recite "Falun Dafa is good," "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good" sincerely in their hearts. Nine days later, Gao was released from hospital. Every day he had to have new ointments applied to his body, but no needles or drugs were needed, and he recovered quickly, and was soon filled with energy.
After the incident, someone asked Gao's mother, "How did you know about shouting 'Falun Dafa is good' at that time?" Gao's mother said that she had read truth-clarification materials received from Falun Gong practitioners that said sincerely reciting "Falun Dafa is good" can save lives. She believed in it deeply and often recited it herself. Indeed, at a very important moment, she shouted "Falun Dafa is good," and her son's life was saved.
(Clearwisdom.net) For a long time I have had a misunderstanding. I thought that there would always be opportunities to save sentient beings as long as the Fa-rectification wasn't over. After reading Master's new lecture, I suddenly realized that because we didn't do well, many sentient beings have lost their chances for salvation.
Master said in “Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa - Fa Teaching Given at the 2011 Washington DC Metro Area Fa Conference,”
Those who were originally meant to have been saved last year [by Shen Yun, but didn’t go], have lost the opportunity forever. That’s because Fa-rectification is unceasingly forging ahead, step by step, and when it arrives at one cosmic plane it is time for that level of people; when it reaches a certain heavenly kingdom above, or a certain layer of cosmic body, it is time for that group of people to come see [the show], and next time around [when Shen Yun performs], that seat will belong to someone else. Do you realize how many lives have been lost?!
I pondered Master's words for a long time. How could I do well every day? I did not want to live in pain for the loss I caused myself and the sentient beings for whom I was responsible.
Even though I have been cultivating and saving people, many opportunities have passed by. Several years ago, I missed the opportunity to clarify the truth to an acquaintance at the deputy division head level. When I heard the news that he had died of a cerebral hemorrhage as a result of excessive drinking during a business trip, I couldn't believe it was true. Two days before his trip, I ran into him. I had been thinking about clarifying the truth to him, but I hesitated, fearing that he wouldn't be receptive.
I also lost another opportunity to clarify the truth to a colleague. I worked with her closely and every time she gave me files, telegraphs, or typed documents, she did so with much respect. We lost contact with each other after the company was restructured. Five years later, I saw her in the employee cafeteria. The cafeteria was very crowded, and I didn't think that she saw me. She looked unhappy. I had the immediate longing to inform her about the truth. However, days passed, and I didn't do anything. I thought I would be able to see her every day in the cafeteria, but I never saw her again.
I have lost many opportunities. It is painful when I think of them, not to mention how much pain I will experience at the end of Fa rectification!
After looking inward, I realized that I had the following gaps:
I was blindly optimistic. I thought every being had a variety of channels to come across the truth. As for the people in my daily life, I saw no urgency to tell them the truth. I thought that they would be curious and ask about the truth one day.
My approach was to take it slowly when saving sentient beings. Although I might not want to admit this, I was waiting for the end of the Fa rectification.
I had a strong attachment to depending on others. I thought that a sentient being's salvation might be taken care by someone else if I didn't do anything. Subconsciously, I was relying on the progress of the Fa-rectification. Sometimes I thought, “When Master comes back and Shen Yun performs in Mainland China, then everyone will simply know the truth.”
I incorrectly thought that the Dafa disciples who left early were no longer saving sentient beings and yet they still had achieved Consummation. Therefore, I didn't need to do more.
I couldn't proceed in the face of difficulties. I had been avoiding people who seemed difficult to save. I would get frustrated with people who had a rigid mindset or were unreasonable.
In fact, if every Dafa disciple thinks this way, we will become the obstacles to Fa-rectification. If we rely on others, then how can the Fa-rectification push forward quickly? Sitting and waiting is not what Dafa disciples should do. When the Fa rectifies the human world, there might be only a few sentient beings left to save.
With an irresponsible and unmotivated attitude, we might not recognize the people we are to save, and the old forces will capitalize on this gap. Whenever there's an opportunity to save a sentient being, we should try our best, because all sentient beings are Master's relatives. The sooner people know the truth, the sooner they will obtain salvation and a guarantee of safety, and the sooner they will help to spread the truth.
Every Dafa disciple shoulders a different responsibility. As long as we are still here on earth, we should seize the day to save sentient beings. Whether a person finds this difficult or not is addressed by Master in Zhuan Falun,
“Actually, I think it depends on the person as to whether it is difficult or not. For an everyday person who does not want to practice cultivation, he will find cultivation practice simply too difficult, inconceivable, or impossible. As an everyday person, he does not want to practice cultivation and will find it very difficult.”
Dafa disciples who are committed to assisting Master in saving sentient beings should be able to overcome any hardship because we have compassion and venerable Master! If we are passive and lack righteous thoughts we cannot do well in saving sentient beings.
My problems existed because I didn't unconditionally think about and try my best to achieve what Master wants in the Fa-rectification. Human morality is in rapid decline and some beings have become so bad that they are unsalvageable. Master has arranged for the predestined people to find us. This opportunity is hard to come by and once it has passed, it's lost forever.
We must study the Fa well, send forth righteous thoughts well, and save people now! We must honor the lives that dared to come down to the human world because of their firm faith in Dafa, by seeing the urgency to save them.
(Clearwisdom.net) Cultivation is a very serious matter and should never be treated carelessly. Recently, I found two things that fellow practitioners were doing that were not in line with the Fa. I am mentioning it here to protect Dafa and to help practitioners cultivate more purely and better guard their virtue.
Recently, some practitioners I knew incorrectly quoted some of Master's words, that is, they either partially quoted Master's words or added some words to reflect their own understanding. They then declared that all of these words were Master’s quotes.
One practitioner shared his understanding of the Fa but his audience was not clear if his words were Master’s words, or only his own understanding of Master’s words. Another practitioner made this same mistake, over and over again, even after people pointed it out to him. During that time, his breath was so stinky that even from a distance you could smell it. No matter how thoroughly he brushed his teeth, he still had extremely bad breath. When clarifying the facts, people would use their hands to signal him to stop. He always sent forth righteous thoughts to get rid of his stinky breath but it was of no use, as it was a result of his poor cultivation. Since he looked outside of himself, he never solved the problem.
However, once that practitioner changed his habit of misquoting Master's words and adding in his own understandings, his foul breath went away.
One day, I discussed the above case with another practitioner who told me that there was a practitioner in his area who could only read a few words of the Fa. When that practitioner studied the Fa and came across words that he couldn’t read, he often made up his own pronunciations and used his own words. For many years he was doing the three things, thus, he seemed like a diligent cultivator. However, he often fell down at home and never knew why. It was only after he attended group Fa-study that others realized that what he read was nonsense and that most of the words he read were made up by him. So what on earth was he studying for so many years! In fact, his “studying” had only hurt him! As a result, many of his understandings of the Fa were inaccurate. Fortunately, after others pointed this out to him, he stopped falling down at home.
