(Clearwisdom.net) Shanxi practitioner Ms. Cheng Quanying is imprisoned in Shanxi Women's Prison and she is critically ill. According to regulations, Ms. Cheng qualifies for release on bail for medical treatment, but the Taigu County Police Department refuses to sign the document. Ms. Cheng Quanying's daughter is appealing to people to rescue her mother.

Ms. Cheng Quanying was illegally arrested by the local police in 2007 and was later sentenced to six years in prison. She became critically ill as a result of torture in Shanxi Women's Prison and was released on bail for medical treatment in 2009. However, she was taken back to prison in August 2010. Since then, Ms. Cheng's blood pressure has become very high and she has been in critical condition several times. Her family members have requested that the authorities release her on bail for medical treatment many times, but each time they have been refused. Currently, Ms. Cheng's daughter is appealing to the community to help rescue her mother.

Below is the statement from Ms. Cheng's daughter:

On August 25, 2010, my mother, Cheng Quanying, went on a hunger strike which lasted for 40 days. She is still imprisoned in the Shanxi Women's Prison just because the Taigu County Police Department refuses to sign the document to release her on bail for medical treatment. As a result, my mother is still being persecuted in prison.

On May 17, when I saw her, she could barely walk, her skin was pale and her hair had turned white. Only ten months have passed and my mother looks ten years older. Such a kind elderly lady should be enjoying her life with her grandchildren at her home but instead, she is being persecuted in prison just because she insists on cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. What kind of society is this?

I urgently ask that people around the world pay attention to my mother's situation and help her to get out of prison early.
