(Clearwisdom.net) The German Federal Prosecutor's Office has formally indicted a German-Chinese who spied on Falun Gong practitioners for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Under German law, espionage can be punished with a prison sentence of up to five years. The European Falun Dafa Association stated that several others who are currently spying on Falun Gong practitioners in Germany for the CCP have also been under the German police's surveillance. The association advises these people to stop their wrongdoings in aiding those who are persecuting Falun Gong in China before it is too late.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office formally indicted German-Chinese citizen John Z. on January 31, 2011, accusing him of providing information about the Falun Gong group in Germany to the CCP's 610 Office. The public trial is expected to be held in the spring of this year. According to the German Criminal Code, item 99, espionage can be punished with a prison sentence of up to five years.
Germany's Influential Weekly Publication Der Spiegel Reported on This Case
The influential weekly publication Der Spiegel got a tip from German counterespionage about Chinese spying in Germany, and a detailed article was published on June 30, 2010.
It said that “Dan Sun” had gone to the Chinese Embassy in Berlin in 2005 to apply for a visa. The case officer who dealt with his application is believed by German intelligence to be a member of the “Chinese Stasi”—the Stasi was the secret police of the communist government in East Germany. She arranged a meeting between Sun and “Chinese experts” about a “research project” on Falun Gong. The meeting took place in 2006. At dinner Sun was engaged in a conversation that stretched late into the evening. He was drawn into a false friendship with a man deeply engaged in the persecution of Falun Gong in mainland China.
“Dan Sun” is actually John Z. The man with whom John Z. met was Xiaohua Z., a head of the 610 Office who carries the rank of vice minister. Xiaohua Z. was posing as a representative of a university for traditional Chinese medicine in Shanghai.
Mr. John Z., a 54-year-old doctor of Chinese medicine, had transferred information to these agents for years, from as early as 2006. They exchanged e-mails regularly and communicated via Skype almost daily.
Mr. Z. had set up an e-mail account that Chinese agents accessed in February 2009. The German counterespionage agency tracked the access to the data from Germany to a place outside Shanghai.
German investigators visited Mr. Z.’s residence in October 2009 to let him know that he was being monitored. He made many arguments to defend himself.
Investigators from the German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (“Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz” in German, or BfV), the agency responsible for counterespionage in Germany, confronted Mr. Z. openly in April 2010, telling him they suspected him being a spy, and searched his home. After that he stopped interacting with the Chinese agents.
The CCP Pressures and Entices Falun Gong Practitioners and Their Families
The CCP has never stopped threatening Falun Gong practitioners or their families to get them to sell out other practitioners over the past ten more years. Three German practitioners or their families have been harassed by the state security agents in China. The agents ordered them to be their informants to collect information about Falun Gong.
Case One: German Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Deqin published an article, entitled “State Security Agents Demanded That I Be an Informant” http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2007/5/22/85975.html on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. On June 30, 2003, Mr. Liu obtained his visa to go to Germany. In July 2003, members of the 610 Office talked to him. The main point was to demand that he become an informant and spy by taking pictures and monitoring the activities of Falun Gong in Germany. Mr. Liu kept silent during the talk. On July 27, 2003, Mr. Liu arrived safely at Berlin, Germany. It was confirmed later that his home phone in China was being monitored. In late August 2003, a call got through to his cell phone from Zhao, an agent from the Ministry of State Security in China. She asked Mr. Liu to work for them. Mr. Liu turned down the offer and hung up.
Case Two: German Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Jun'an went back to Shanghai in April 2002 with his German wife, Veronika, to visit his family. They were monitored around the clock by the 610 Office. No matter where they went, two plainclothes secret agents and one or two police cars followed them. The agents went to Mr. Zhang's home to check his luggage and took away two copies of Zhuan Falun, in Chinese and German, and other books. The agents also threatened Mr. Zhang's relatives to cooperate with the state security agents and deceived Mr. Zhang and his wife into going to a room in Jinjiang Hotel in Shanghai. Once there, two secret agents attempted to “transform” the couple and force them to give up their cultivation in Falun Gong.
One day ahead of their departure to Germany, the state security agents invited Mr. Zhang and his wife to have a dinner at a restaurant, hinting for Mr. Zhang to be an informant for them when he returned to Germany. Mr. Zhang rejected the offer. The agents also told him not to reveal to anyone that such things were taking place in China and threatened that if he continued taking part in Falun Gong activities outside China, his relatives inside China would be implicated.
Case Three: Practitioner A's parents in China have been frequently harassed by the state security agents over the past three years. Every time, there were two or three plainclothes agents, who didn't show their identities, but only said that they were state security agents. They asked Practitioner A's parents to persuade A in Germany to provide information for the state security agency. They promised that, if A could provide information, she could return to China at any time, and the state security agency would pay for her flight. She could also get paid by the state security division while she was in Germany. A's parents rejected the state security agents' request. After that, the agents asked A's parents to go to Germany to visit her and collect information for them, the parents would get benefits from the state security division. A's parents rejected the offer. The state security agents got angry and threatened that they were capable of preventing A's parents from seeing their daughter forever. Over three years, state security agents adopted both hard and soft means. When A's parents felt ill, the agents visited them with fruit and also visited them on holidays. All this has been done to try to persuade A's parents and A to be their informants.
Those Who Persecute Falun Gong Are Doing Wrong
Chairman of the Mid-U.S. Falun Dafa Association Mr. Yang Sen said, “We believe that good will be rewarded, and evil will meet with retribution. Those secret agents will definitely receive their retribution if their crimes are significant enough. Master Li Hongzhi said in his article published [on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website] in May 2006 that these people should be quick to publicly reveal the bad things that they have done, that is, to break free from the CCP's coercion and threats, take a new lease of life, and make their way back to cultivation. This is compassion, and the gate has been widely opened. It doesn't matter that one has made mistakes as long as one corrects them. But if the person knows that this is wrong, but insists on doing it for the sake of money and personal gain, such a person will definitely be punished.”
Chairman of the European Falun Dafa Association Mr. Wu Wenxin said, “As cultivators, we are not out to catch secret agents. That's the job of Germany's counterespionage agency. I only want to advise those who provide information for the CCP. The agency has investigated John Z. for four years, and the agency even knew who John Z. met when he went to Beijing. The agency submitted the case to the prosecutor's office after collecting a large amount of unmistakable evidence. As for those who haven't been indicted, don't leave things to chance and think that the agency doesn't know about you. Actually, they have you under surveillance. Those who refuse to learn from the case of John Z. and continue aiding the CCP in the persecution of Falun Gong will very likely to be indicted next by the German Prosecutor's Office.”
(Clearwisdom.net) One Free World International, an international human rights organization, held a premiere screening of the documentary “Freedom Fighter” on March 27, 2011, in Toronto, Canada. The film depicts the global persecution of religious beliefs, including the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China, which has been ongoing since 1999. Thousands of people attended two screening sessions of the film.
Majed El Shafie, president of One Free World International, spoke at the premiere of the documentary “Freedom Fighter” on March 27, 2011, saying that all persecuted and people who don't want to see persecution are united, and they will be able to conquer evil. |
In the film, Majed El Shafie, president of One Free World International, interviewed Falun Gong practitioner Mr. He Lizhi who had previously suffered the persecution in China; David Kilgour, former Canadian veteran politician who has been investigating the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) crimes of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, and others.
Mr. He Lizhi recounted his three and a half years of prison life in China due to his telling others the facts about Falun Gong. During his detention, he was subjected to electric shocks and sleep deprivation. He was stripped of his clothes and doused with cold water on winter days, which resulted in him having a high fever for several months. But the prison authorities didn't give him any medical treatment. Mr. He said, “Torture almost took my life.”
David Kilgour talked about the evidence uncovered during an investigation of the CCP's crimes of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. Human rights lawyer Chantal Desloges said that the CCP has employed labor camps similar to the former Soviet Union in its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and other religious believers.
After the screening, the audience gave Rev. Majed EI Shafie a standing ovation. In attendance for the premiere were the Minister of Immigration, the Honorable Jason Kenney; Member of Parliament, Pierre Poilievre, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister; and Mario Silva, Deputy Chair of the Human Rights Subcommittee of the Canadian Government. They each stressed in their speeches that Canada attaches great importance to human rights.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Xin was illegally sentenced to eight years in China for practicing Falun Gong before she came to Canada in 2010. She said there are many Falun Gong practitioners detained in China's prisons. In addition to being subjected to electric shock and other tortures in prison, she was forced to take psychiatric drugs for more than four years. As a result she experienced slowness in moving, lack of appetite, mental dullness, persistent fatigue, and uncontrolled drooling. After watching the documentary, Ms. Huang said she was moved that the Canadian government attaches such importance to human rights.
Joel Chipkar, spokesperson for the Canadian Falun Dafa Association said, "The Communist government is trying very hard to silence Falun Gong and its supporters. The Chinese government has spies everywhere, Falun Gong is the No.1 enemy of the Communist government, because Falun Gong is the No.1 persecuted group from the Communist government, and Falun Gong is the evidence that the Communist government is guilty for major crimes against humanity. They are guilty of murdering tens of thousands of people, organ harvesting, torture and death."
It took Rev. Majed El Shafie over four years to complete the documentary. He traveled on fact-finding missions to investigate and document human rights abuses against religious minorities around the world, focusing on Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and China. When he learned about the atrocity of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China, he said, “It broke my heart that it's happening in China.” “No matter how strong the Chinese government is, no matter how powerful the Chinese government is, you can stand up for justice, you can stand up for your rights. We are always with you, don't think you're alone,” he said.
(Clearwisdom.net) The persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party continues to be extreme, a conclusion that can be justifiably drawn from several reports on March 10, 2011, on the Minghui (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) website.
Two articles had similar titles. One was “Ms. Luo Changyun Sentenced to Prison after Being Held in a Forced Labor Camp Three Times” (http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2011/3/14/123806.html), and the other was “Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan Held in a Forced Labor Camp Three Times and Sentenced Once” (http://minghui.ca/mh/articles/2011/3/10/237379). The titles themselves only begin to suggest the persecution they suffered. Twelve years have passed since the Chinese Communist Party launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. During this time, the persecution has only increased in severity, which the record of continual arrests, frequent sentences, and personal reports of Falun Gong practitioners reveals.
The practitioners discussed in the two articles were not from the same area. Ms. Luo Changyun was an English teacher in Ankang Municipal Middle School in Shaanxi Province. Her husband was frightened because of how frequently their home was ransacked, and the amount of money extorted from them added up to about 60,000 yuan. He finally gave up and divorced her. Her daughters could not keep their minds on working or studying. Her eldest daughter went to work in a faraway place in order not to be harassed. Her second daughter, who was in school, became a hostage of the police who tried to force her to give up her belief. She could no longer focus on her studies.
The other account told about Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan, a peasant in Niushan Village, Shuidongjiang Town, Shaodong County, Hunan Province. He was detained and persecuted in six separate facilities: Shaodong Detention Center, Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Hunan Province, Chishan Prison in Hunan Province, Chenzhou Prison, No. 3 Detention Center in Guilin, and a Forced Labor Camp in Guangxi. During his detention, he once went on a hunger strike, but was pinned to the ground by over a dozen criminals, who pried his mouth open with two electrician's pliers. His mouth filled with blood.
The two practitioners are from different areas, and they were brutally tortured in different ways. Whether in a forced labor camp or prison, in Shaanxi, Hunan, or Guangxi, the persecution is still going on.
Another report, titled “Falun Gong Practitioner Shi Xiaochun from Heilongjiang Held in a Forced Labor Camp Five Times” (http://minghui.ca/mh/articles/2011/3/10/237380.html), was about Ms. Shi Xiaochun from Jidong County, who was persecuted many times.
If we charted the amounts of time these three Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted during these years, was there any time they might have had a chance to be happy? Most of the time they were imprisoned. It is true. Take Ms. Shi Xiaochun, who was held in a forced labor camp five times. The first time was for one year; the second time, two years; the third time, two years (her family asked for her return); the fourth time was two years, but after her term ended, she was transferred to a detention center for 11 days by the 610 Office; the fifth time again was for two years.
My comments are based on cases reported on just one day on the Minghui website, and they are typical. Checking another day, there is a related story in a comment article, “It Was Not Only These Two Doctors Who Were Harmed” (http://minghui.ca/mh/articles/2011/3/10/237395.html). It told of a physician, Zhang Dianguo, who was arrested ten times in Yi County, Liaoning, and his wife, who was held in a forced labor camp four times. Another article, titled “Evidence of Persecution Mr. Huang Cheng Suffered Before He Died” (http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2011/3/22/123958.html), said that, from 1999 to 2010, Mr. Huang Cheng was arrested and sent to police stations, detention centers, drug rehabilitation centers, brainwashing centers, Taihe Police Branch, forced labor camps, and prisons 15 times in total! Money was extorted from him, he was harassed and tortured many times, and his home was ransacked multiple times. Mr. Huang was a Falun Gong practitioner in Jinzhou, Liaoning. In Panjin Prison, he was once shocked by guards with eight electric batons, and his hands were pierced with syringe needles. On February 24, 2011, he passed away in tremendous pain.
The sheer number of incidents of persecution is frightful, and the torture these individuals suffered is unimaginable. This persecution takes place all over China. Just look at the articles published on this website today. The duration of this persecution and the amount of torture visited upon its victims is astonishing. Two people were held three times in a forced labor camp and sentenced once; one person was held in a forced labor camp five times; one was arrested ten times, and another 15 times. These numbers show just how widespread and ongoing the persecution is.
The persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party is a tragic blight on human history.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Cao Gongxun, Mr. Liu Xinping, Mr. Zhou Qingfeng, and Mr. O Rangzhong were secretly transferred from the No.2 Detention Center in Lidi City to Wangling Prison in You County, Zhuzhou City on March 8, 2011. Practitioner Mr. He Jinlin remained at the No.2 Detention Center.
Wangling Prison in Zhuzhou County of Human Province
On March 12, 2010, nine practitioners were put on a trial in Lixing District Court in Lidi City. All of the practitioners denied the charges against them and stated their innocence. Lawyers from Beijing representing them requested their immediate release. However, on August 3, 2010, the practitioners were illegally sentenced to jail. By law, the judgement should have been handed down within one-and-a-half months after the trial. Instead, it was given more than four months later.
Nine of the practitioners were sentenced to jail. Mr. Cao Gongxun was sentenced to 10 years Mr. Liu Xinping, 9 years; Mr. Zhou Qingfeng, 5.5 years; Mr. O Yangzhong, 3.5 years; and Mr. He Jinlin, 2 years. Ms. Deng Lianzhen, Ms. Xie Guirong, Ms. Li Zaiying, and Ms. Yuan Qiudi were sentenced to 3 years with 4 years of probation.
The practitioners appealed to Lidi City intermediary court, but the appeal was rejected on December 5, 2010.
On March 8, 2011, Mr. Cao Gongxun, Mr. Liu Xinping, Mr. Zhou Qingfeng, and Mr. O Yangzhong were sent to Wangling Prison in You County, Zhuzhou City. All their personal belongings and money given by their families were taken by the officials from No.2 Detention Center of Lidi City.
The Nine Practitioners Were Arrested in July 2009
Around 9 pm on July 15, 2009, police from Lidi City broke into several practitioners' homes. Mr. Cao Gongxun, Mr. Liu Xinping, Mr. Zhou Qingfeng, Ms. Deng Lianzhen, and Mr. O Yangzhong and his wife, Yuan Qidi, were arrested. Their homes were ransacked.
On July 20, 2009, police broke into the pracittioners' homes again. Ms. Li Zaiying and Ms. Xie Guirong were arrested.
On September 9, 2009, plainclothes police hired Mr. He Jinlin, who ran a motorcycle taxi business, to go to a fishing place. Then Mr. He was abruptly seized and taken to a waiting police car.
As stated above, the nine practitioners were tried in Lixing District Court on March 12, 2010. Zhou Min, aged around 37, was the presiding judge. He kept interrupting the practitioners whenever they spoke about Falun Gong. In the trial, their Beijing attorneys pointed out that practicing Falun Gong is not against any law, and they asked the prosecutors to present any legal documents if there were any. The judge and the prosecutors kept silent on the subject. The practitioners stated their innocence and reported their being mistreated. The lawyers requested the immediate release of their clients.
The trial ended around 3 pm that day, and no judgements were given. Five of the practitioners, Mr. Cao Gongxun, Mr. Liu Xinping, Mr. Zhou Qingfeng, Mr. O Yangzhong, and Mr. He Jinlin, were sent back to Lidi Detention Center. The other four practitioners were under house arrest.
Some information follows about each practitioner who was sentenced in jail:
Mr. Cao Gongxun was born on January 5, 1952. Mr. Cao used to work at Liangang factory in Lidi City and was eventually fired because of his practicing Falun Gong. He was subjected to two years of forced labor on March 29, 2002.
Mr. Liu Xingping was born on March 5, 1972. Mr. Liu used to be a policeman in Hetian City, Xinjiang Province. He had been arrested because he practiced Falun Gong and was later fired from his job. On the night of July 15, 2009, police broke into the apartment he and Cao Gongxun rented together. Both of them were arrested.
Mr. Zhou Qingfeng was born on June 18, 1974. Mr. Zhou used to work in Liangang factory in Lidi city. He was arrested on January 26, 2002 while distributing truth-clarification materials. He was detained at No.2 Detention Center of Lidi City for almost a year before being sentenced to seven years in jail. He served the seven-year term and was released on January 26, 2009. He was arrested again at home on July 15, 2009.
Mr. O Yangzhong was born on January 12, 1950, Mr. O had a private clinic in Lianbin W. Street, Lidi City. His wife Yuan Qidi was from Xinhua County, near Lidi. They have three children, and two of them are still in kindergarden.
Ms. Deng Lianzheng was born on December 14, 1939. Ms. Deng was a retiree from Liangang factory. She had multiple diseases before practicing Falun Gong, including lymph tuberculosis, which made her often vomit blood. All her symptoms disappeared within several months after she started practicing Falun Gong. Her neighbors and colleagues all knew about her miraculous recovery.
Mr. He Jinlin was born on March 8, 1977. Mr. He lived in Qiuhua Village of Hongshandian Town, Shuangfeng County. On September 9, 2009, when he rode his motorcycle for rent, a plainclothes police hired him to go to a place for fishing. When they arrived at the remote place, he was arrested by police waiting there in a police car. He was detained at No.1 Detention Center in Lidi City. His wife was going to have a baby in October. He came back home from Guangdong Province, where he worked, in order to take care of his wife. However, he was deceived and arrested.
Ms. Li Zaiying was born on February 27, 1942. Ms. Li is a retiree from the public transportation corp. of Lidi City.

(Clearwisdom.net) Between February 26 and March 5, 2011, both Mr. Qin Yuming and Mr. Yu Yungang were tortured to death. On the morning of March 8, 2011. Mr. Liu Chuanjiang, who was 55 years old, was tortured to death by officers in Jiamusi Prison. All three were Falun Gong practitioners
Mr. Liu had been illegally arrested and detained in Jiamusi Prison twice. Both times, he was beaten, and he was in a bad state of emaciation. During forced brainwashing sessions in 2011, he was tortured to death.
1. First Time in the Prison
On May 11, 2002, while Mr. Liu Chuanjiang and other practitioners were handing out truth-clarification materials, they were reported to the police. They were arrested and detained, and Chang Anzhong, a political instructor from Wuyiling District Police Station, and 610 Office agents bribed a criminal by the last name of Lei to cruelly torture Mr. Liu. They forced him to sit on a tiger bench for three days and nights and deprived him of sleep.
A Tiger Bench (Illustration)
After that episode of torture, Mr. Liu was sentenced to four years imprisonment. He was taken to Xianglan Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City and later transferred to Jiamusi Prison.
At 9 a.m., on October 20, 2003, the person in charge of the team in Jiamusi Prison tried to force him to shave his head and wear a prisoner's uniform. Mr. Liu refused to be treated like a criminal and said, "Falun Gong practitioners are good people. It is wrong to put us in here. We have not committed any crimes." Without saying anything, Officer Chang walked up to him and slapped his face on both sides and then police officer Sui Jin pushed Mr. Liu to the ground and kicked him.
At 1 p.m. that same day, guard Teng Qining forced him to go to the brainwashing sessions, also known as "study classes." When he refused to go, Teng beat him badly. After he was beaten over and over, he developed frequent headaches, dizziness, and nausea and couldn't eat. Whenever he tried to eat he’d vomit. As a result he became emaciated, and couldn't take care of himself. Mr. Liu also had two criminals watching him day and night.
On January 26, 2004, Mr. Liu fainted a couple of times, so he was taken to the hospital. He was told that he was fine and there was nothing wrong with him. It was very clear to everyone that he had arrived in his condition from been tortured and his life was in grave danger, yet the guards disregarded these facts. Prisoners often said: "Not until you are at death's door will you be released." This was said to warn families and Falun Gong practitioners to give up practicing.
2. Second Time in Prison
On the evening of July 26, 2008, Mr. Liu was arrested again. On November 5 of the same year, he was sentenced by Wuyiling Court in Yichun City under orders from the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and taken to Jiamusi Prison.
As soon as Mr. Liu entered the building of No.2 Section in the prison, guards searched him and took everything he had brought with him, including two basins and some gloves. About a dozen people were admitted to the prison at the same time as Mr. Liu. As soon as they had been searched, they were taken down to the cells where they were kicked and beaten and forced to squat down with their hands around their heads.
The person in charge of the intensive training ward, Yu Yifeng; associate political instructor Shen Qingxin; and the person in charge of the No.2 ward rewarded inmate Kang Yujun for watching Mr. Liu. Yu Yifeng, a person by the last name of Zhang, Xu Liang; and several other prisoners tried to force Mr. Liu to write a Repentance Statement. Mr. Liu refused to write it.
Later, Xu Liang, another person in charge of the Intensive Training Team, called Mr. Liu to his office and demanded that he write the Repentance Statement, but Mr. Liu still refused to write it. Xu then ordered Kang Yujun to torture him. He slapped his face and made him squat for a long time.
Six days later, prisoner Kang Yujun had Mr. Liu come to his cell, where he tried to frighten him into writing a Repentance Statement. When he refused to do it again, Kang beat him until his hands and feet were bruised. Then Kang pulled out a pair of size 42 sneakers with plastic bottoms and began to hit his face. Kang was soon exhausted so he took a break, then hit Mr. Liu again, then he took another break and hit him again. Kang did this back and forth a few times. Mr. Liu’s face swelled up and eventually he couldn't stand it, so he wrote the statement under duress.
Soon after, the cadre from the Prison Education Transformation Division wanted to see if Mr. Liu had written the Repentance Statement of his own volition. An officer from the ward by the last name of Zhang warned Mr. Liu that if anyone from the Education Transformation Division came to him to ask him about this, he should say that he did. Mr. Liu responded by saying that it was not from his true heart. Seeing that Mr. Liu did not comply with what he said, Kang took him to a cell and beat him twice.
Towards the end March of 2009, the team leader of the No.2 Sub-Division of the No.4 Ward had Mr. Liu come to the guards' room. Feng Zhongqing, the deputy head of the Education Transformation Division, and another officer by the last name of Du were there. Feng asked Mr. Liu, “Did you write the Repentance Statement voluntarily?” He responded, “They forced me to write it. I have already made my declaration that it was invalid.”
Both Feng and officer Du told Mr. Liu to say that that he had written it voluntarily. When he refused, the two guards used their electric batons to beat and shock him. In order to get them to stop, he hit his head against an iron cabinet and his head bled profusely. [Please note: What Mr. Liu did was a direct result of the brutal persecution. Practitioners should not adopt drastic measures.)

3. Tortured to Death
On February 21, 2011, prison officers began to take practitioners to the persecution team. For every one practitioner there were many collaborators to watch them. They were ordered to write the Three Statements to renounce their belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, the tenants of Falun Gong.
On February 26, Mr. Qin Yueming was tortured to death. On March 1, Mr. Yu Yungang was tortured and ended up in a coma. On March 5, he passed away. Dozens of police officers surrounded Mr. Yu's cell, so his relatives could not see his tortured body. They cremated his body to destroy all the evidence.
Mr. Liu was severely persecuted in Jiamusi Prison. They shocked him with four electric batons all at the same time and didn't stop until the four batons ran out of power. They cruelly tortured him and broke his arm. When he was transferred from the Intensive Training Team to the No. 3 Sub-Division of the No.3 Ward, the guards had four inmates watch him. When he was using the washroom, they saw that parts of his bottom were badly injured as a direct result of being shocked with electric batons.
Around 10 p.m. on March 7, 2011, Mr. Liu was taken to the emergency room at Jiamusi Prison Hospital. He couldn't breathe and the officers requested oxygen for him. A doctor said, “He won’t survive for much longer—we cannot save him. Since we only have a limited supply of oxygen, it would make no difference to him even if we were to give it to him.”
At 1 a.m. on March 8, 2011 Mr. Liu died in hospital. At around 2 a.m., his body was transferred to the mortuary. It was said by insiders that between March 9 and 10, many officers showed up in the No.3 Ward. When Mr. Liu was almost dead as a result of torture, in order to cover up the facts, the guards transported his body back to the No.3 Ward and told all the prisoners that he had had a heart attack.
Unfortunately, Mr. Liu's family members believed the lies the guards had made up. After Mr. Liu’s family saw the "emergency treatment" video that the guards showed to them, they agreed to sign the paperwork to have Mr. Liu's body cremated. On March 10, his body was cremated. Officials from Jiamusi Prison stated that they would pay 200,000 yuan to his family members, but to this date they have never received a penny. It was also a ploy to destroy any evidence of the torture Mr. Liu had been subjected to. Once the body was cremated there could be no investigation.

used to live on Dongfeng Road, Nenjiang County, Heilongjiang
Province. In March 2002, she was taken to the Jiusan Detention
Center and forcibly injected with unknown substances. She was
illegally sentenced to 14 years in prison on July 18, 2002. On
July 29, 2002, she was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's
Prison. Ms. Dong has been imprisoned for eight years and suffers
from a serious heart problem; her limbs are weak, and she is
emaciated. Now she is being persecuted in Ward 5.
Ms. Dong Limin was born on July 1, 1972. In March 2002 at 11 p.m.,
she was taken to the Jiusan Detention Center by a policeman and a
policewoman from the Nenjiang Farm Police Station and officials
from the Jiusan Agricultural and Reclamation Bureau 610 Office.
She held a hunger strike, and, three days later, she was force-fed
and injected with unknown substances in the detention center
clinic. Each time after she was injected with the drugs, her head
felt as if it would explode. However, the officials claimed that
the substances she was being injected with were nourishment.
Torture Demonstration: Injected with drugs
On July 18, 2002, Ms. Dong was illegally sentenced to 14 years by
the Jiusan Agricultural and Reclamation Court. On July 29, 2002,
she was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison and held in
Ward 9. (Ward 9 is now named Ward 6.) Ward 9: heads: Yang Hua,
Zhang Chunhua; guards: Jia Wenjun, Wang Shaojian, Yang Fengling, Xu
Zhanling.
Guards in Ward 9 had criminals monitor Ms. Dong's activities. Wang
Xuezhen, head of the criminals, arranged for all the criminals to
monitor her. Ms. Dong was forced to squat for one whole day and a
night.
In 2003, Zheng Jie was appointed the head of Ward 9. Ms. Dong and
20 other practitioners were forced to sit only on the concrete
floor from the Fall of 2003 to the Fall of 2004. They were
monitored by criminals all the time, and they were only given a
small piece of bread for every meal. Every day, they had to sit on
the concrete floor from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Criminal inmates
involved: Ji Chunyan, Zhang Chunyan, and Hou Guiqin.
On April, 11 2005, four or five criminals were ordered to swear at
Ms. Dong. They made her hold a book which was written to defame
Dafa. She refused. Then they started to beat her. She fell down
several times and could not move anymore, so they pulled her up and
kicked her, causing her to fall down several more times. A criminal
stepped on her hands while twisting them.
Tao Hong was the criminal inmate who played a major role in beating
Ms. Dong. The head of the criminals was Qiao Chunyan. Yan Yuhua was
appointed the head of Ward 9. Yan Yuhua set up a brainwashing
center in the ward, and Ms. Dong was taken there. Every day,
practitioners had to watch and listen to videos and audiotapes that
slandered Dafa. Every few days, criminal inmates came and verbally
abused Ms. Dong. They did this for an entire year. Deputy ward
head: Jia Wenjun; guard: Wang Shaojian; criminals: Xu Zhen, Qiao
Chunyan, Tao Hong, Li Dezhi, Jiao Hongxia, Zhang Fang.
On April, 2006, Ms. Dong was taken to Ward 1.
On October 28, 2006, Liu Zhiqiang, prison head, set up two new
wards, Ward 11 and Ward 13, which were created to hold only Falun
Gong practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) In mid-September 2001, 610 Office officials including CCP secretary Li Honghai, Political and Legal Committee secretary Lin Qingren, deputy secretary Zhao Delin from Yishui County, as well as Li Dong, deputy director Liu Huande, deputy director of the Public Security Bureau Huang Chuanting, and Director of Political Security Zhang Jianping ordered 610 Office staff to launch a wave of arrests in their county against Falun Gong practitioners. Some of the practitioners were held in detention centers. Most of them were held in the Fengjiazhuang Brainwashing Center in Yishui County, where they were subjected to torture, beatings, and forced brainwashing.
On the morning of September 21, 2001, former Falun Dafa exercise site volunteer instructor Wang Yongdong was beaten by policemen from the Yishui County Public Security Bureau. Later, he was thrown from the fourth floor of a building. The perpetrators attempted to create a false suicide scene. He had been choked to death, with marks on his neck.
Illegal Detention
On September 21, 2001 around 8:00 a.m, Mr. Wang Yongdong was grocery shopping when a group of people attempted to arrest him. They were Huang Chuangting, Zhang Jianping, Zhang Zhitian, Wang Jingwen, Zhang Qiguo, Li Yuyou, and Yang Shutong. When Mr. Wang objected, he was beaten severely.
He was held in the Public Security Bureau and was hung up by a rope and tortured for over one hour. Later, police officers Zhang Jianping, Zhang Zhitian, Wang Jingwen, Li Yuyou, and Zhang Jueyuan, with Yangxijie residential committee member Wang Yongbin leading the way, went to Mr. Wang's home, attempting to raid it without a search warrant.
The Police Committed Murder in the Process of Searching for Evidence
Around 9:00 a.m. on September 21, 2001, because Mr. Wang saw the police coming, he quickly ran into his home and locked the door. The police kicked the door down and broke in. Around 10:00 a.m., they threw Mr. Wang from the fourth floor, attempting to make it look like a suicide.
Wang Yongdong's body was covered with injuries. Witnesses included his relatives, neighbors, and village leaders. There were strangle marks on his neck, bruises all over his body, a broken collar bone, three broken ribs on his left side, two broken ribs on his right side, his private parts were a purple swollen mass, and his lower leg had a compound fracture consistent with being struck by a blunt object. Injuries sustained from the fall included a femur fracture, ruptured liver, ruptured stomach, and colon, and internal bleeding in his abdomen.
Attempting to Create a False Crime Scene
At 10:00 a.m. on September 21, 2001, since Mr. Wang's home faced the market, a crowd gathered at the scene shortly after the incident. Mr. Wang was lying on his back. His brother-in-law ran up to him, held his head up and cried, “Wang Yongdong, Wang Yongdong!”
Political Security Director Zhang Jianping called his supervisor. The crowd was trying to find a car to get him to the hospital. When the police car tried to leave the scene, the bystanders and Mr. Wang's relatives stopped the car. The driver, Zhang Jueyuan, said, “I cannot make the decision. You'd better ask my supervisor.” The relatives were angry, “You see he is in mortal danger, yet you won't even lift a finger to save him?!”
Under pressure from the crowd, the police reluctantly took Mr. Wang to the hospital, but it was too late.
With police monitoring the situation closely, the doctor did not speak to the relatives, but he did open Mr. Wang's clothes and show his relatives his injuries suffered, including strangulation marks on his neck.
The Behavior of the Police Stirred Up Massive Anger from the Public
A number of angry people who saw the incident, including residential committee members, neighbors, and bystanders, went to the hospital and demanded justice. County CCP Secretary Li Honghai ordered the destruction of all evidence and the immediate cremation of the body. They formed an emergency team: Lin Qingren, Zhao Delin, and Huang Chuangting, who reported to Li Honghai. They mobilized the entire local police force and surrounded the hospital. Nobody was allowed to leave the hospital, only enter.
Wang Yongdong's wife, Sun Qingxiang, was being held in the Fengjiazhuang Brainwashing Center, and Huang Chuangting went to get her. She warned him sternly, “You are a murderer. You are responsible for Wang Yongdong's death!”
After a while, Huang Chuangting went home and changed out of his police uniform. Ms. Sun saw him again at the hospital. She cried and yelled, “Huang Chuangting! I know you even though you changed clothes. Give me back Wang Yongdong's life!” Huang Chuangting quickly left the scene. Later at the cremation site, Ms. Sun came with her ten-year-old daughter and pointed out Huang Chuangting as her father's murderer. From that point on, Huang did not show his face anymore.
Police Try to Cover up Evidence
Around 5:00 p.m. on September 21, 2001, Mr. Wang's relatives took pictures of his body at the mortuary at Yishui County Center Hospital to use them as evidence later. When the police found out about this, Zhao Delin sent threats to all of the photo studios in the county. When Mr. Wang's family went to the photo studios to get the pictures developed, they were told, “The public security bureau ordered everyone not to develop your pictures.”
Confrontation at the Cremation Site.
Around 6:00 p.m. on September 21, 2001, Zhao Delin told the relatives of Mr. Wang, “It is already done, we also feel sorry, let us cremate the body.” Mr. Wang's relatives replied, “There was no autopsy done. We had no say about anything, and you want to eliminate evidence of your crime? No way! No cremation!”
Mr. Wang's relatives wanted to bring him home to set up a hall where a memorial service could be held. However, Zhao Delin ordered police officers to bring his body to the cremation site, instead, wanting a cremation as quickly as possible. Mr. Wang's relatives, neighbors, and other villagers came and protected the body. Mr. Wang's relative warned Zhao Delin, “Before the problem is solved, if you dare to cremate the body, you will be held responsible for all the consequences!” The police locked the body in cold storage and surrounded it, and nobody was allowed to get near.
A local “emergency team” office was set up at the cremation site. Lin Qingren and Zhao Delin were at the site with Yangxujie Residential Committee Secretary Wang Yongtai.
On September 22, 2001, over 100 friends and relatives came to pay their respects to Mr. Wang. There were over 200 policemen and public security officers.
The relatives had four requests:
Punish the murderers according to the law.
Compensation for the loss of life.
Financial support for Mr. Wang's daughter.
Officially clearing Mr. Wang Yongdong's name.
Deceiving People
On September 22, 2001, Lin Qingren and Zhao Delin suddenly were nowhere to be found. The next day they could still not be found. The relatives asked for them to act as soon as possible, but they did not show up. An officer told them, “They are at a meeting.”
The police took turns standing guard. The relatives were not able to eat or sleep normally for days. After five days, a policeman said to them plainly, “We can handle it. We wonder how long you can handle it.”
The relatives finally realized that they were being stalled, and that the police were trying to wear them down. They threatened to break the door down and carry Mr. Wang's body away. Only then did the police reply, “Zhao Delin will be here soon, don't worry.”
In less than three minutes, Zhao came and said, “Do not worry, I will have a meeting right now and solve your problem.” However, he was not heard from again that day.
The relatives discussed it among themselves and decided to find their own forensic experts to do an autopsy.
Trying to Find Justice via Independent Forensic Experts
Six days later, a relative went to Jinan and found three forensic experts to conduct an autopsy. During the autopsy, policemen surrounded the site, and only two relatives were allowed inside.
The forensic experts described Mr. Wang's body to his relatives and the on-site police as follows: “Strangulation marks on his neck, bruises on his skin, a broken collarbone, three broken ribs on the left side of his chest, two broken ribs on the right side of his right chest, his private parts were a purple swollen mass, and his lower leg had a compound fracture caused by force applied by a blunt object. Wounds likely caused by the fall include a femur fracture, a ruptured liver, a ruptured stomach and colon, and internal bleeding in the abdomen.”
After the autopsy, the forensic experts were then escorted out of the facility by Zhao Delin and company.
The Forensic Experts Change Their Official Report
The next day, there was a public announcement of the autopsy results. The report's wording was ambiguous, saying that they could not determine the responsible party. They also refused to provide written documentation. Mr. Wang's relatives were very angry, as this was a complete reversal from the previous day's statements. One of the relatives said, “The CCP bought you, and you are covering up their crimes. We disagree with the report. We will appeal all the way to the top.” One of the forensic experts arrogantly pointed out: “You can ask for whoever you want, but remember where you are. The outcome is going to be the same.”
Wang Yongdong's family then filed a lawsuit again the County Public Security Bureau, asking that the perpetrators be punished.
Nine days before the trial in Yishui Court, several of Mr. Wang's relatives were detained by the police at their workplaces, so they could not attend the trial.
When the trial convened, the plaintiff raised the issues of arresting Wang Yongdong without a warrant, searching the house without a warrant, beating the victim, throwing him from the fourth floor, and the series of crimes committed by Zhang Jianping and others. Wang Yongbin, the person who led the police to the victim's home, was asked by the public security bureau to be a witness. He, of course, stated that no beatings took place.
The presiding judge ignored most of the evidence raised by the plaintiffs and denied their requests to speak numerous times.
That afternoon, when Wang Yongdong's relatives were all at the hospital, several police officers from the Public Security Bureau, led by member of the residential committee Wang Yongxi, sneaked into Mr. Wang Yongdong's home. At that time, the door was broken, and only his ten-year-old daughter was home. They searched every corner of the house, videotaping everything, but they could not find anything that they were looking for.
During the proceedings, Mr. Wang's relatives did not receive any documentation of the autopsy results or any documentation related to the lawsuit.
Unable to Justify Their Actions, the Authorities Attempt to Pay Off the Victim's Family
Ten days after Mr. Wang's death, Residential Committee Secretary Wang Yongtai visited Mr. Wang Yongdong's sister, Wang Yongling, and told her, “If you stop the lawsuit, the public security bureau will compensate you 40,000 yuan.” When the family refused, Wang Yongtai said, “Hey, this is much better than that person who lived in Nanguanjie, who was beaten to death by the public security bureau there. They did not get any compensation.”
On October 1, 2001, Mr. Wang Yongdong was cremated. Later Wang Yongtai sent 40,000 yuan to Mr. Wang's family.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "Solemn Declaration" is a person's public statement to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. These statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wish to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Now, they hereby declare their intention to resume practicing Falun Dafa. Here are some examples of the Solemn Declarations: Please click here for more Solemn Declarations.
(Clearwisdom.net) My husband used to try to stop me from practicing Falun Gong and he even did bad things towards Dafa. Thus, in 2004, he became very sick and he had to be rushed to the hospital. After a thorough examination, the doctor said that he had suffered a stroke, which caused the whole left side of his body to become paralyzed; even his mouth was deformed. The doctor strongly suggested that he undergo coronary bypass surgery.
While I was taking care of him at the hospital, I used the opportunity to tell him about Dafa. One day, my young grandson and granddaughter—who both began practicing Dafa after I introduced It to them—came to visit their grandfather.
They sat on the edge of the hospital bed and whispered in his ear: “Grandpa, please sincerely remember that ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and your illness will be healed.”
They also sent a greeting card which read: “Greetings from your young grandson and granddaughter: Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, Falun Dafa is good and the Buddha’s light illuminates everywhere.” The children's words deeply touched him and he smiled.
From 2004 to 2007, my husband was admitted to the hospital a total of three times. Each time he was admitted, the hospital insisted on performing bypass surgery. I kept clarifying the truth to him and told him: “Please sincerely remember that Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compass-Forbearance is good and start studying the {Fa}} and practicing the exercises with me. If you do, I am sure your illness will go away and you will have a wonderful future.”
My husband finally told me, “I will not have the surgery. Tomorrow I will check myself out and go home. I will try doing what you suggested I do.”
Affected by Dafa’s mighty power, my husband finally accepted the truth. As a result, his health improved day-by-day. He can now do some housework and his outlook on life has changed completely. It's as if he is a totally different person!
With our fellow disciples’ help, he stayed at home and printed and assembled Dafa-related materials, including the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. As much as I wanted to help him, I could not as I was busy seeing the kids off to school, picking them up from school, taking care of household duties, and attending to our youngest child.
Whenever problems arose with the printer, my husband learned to fix it without being asked to. He became a wonderful partner. He also wrote a heartfelt letter, announcing his withdrawal from the wicked Chinese Communist Party.
In the autumn of 2009, my children asked their father to go to the clinic for a general exam and to have an IV. After he was examined, the doctor told him: “You are OK and you don’t need an IV.”
My husband went from being a bypass surgery candidate to a person who didn’t even need a single IV in a year. The difference in my husband's health and attitude is as large as the distance between Heaven and Earth. He knew that Dafa had saved him and he finally stepped onto the path of cultivation.
Master provided our family with a truly solid and dignified cultivation environment. With my husband’s help and support, we manage to print lots and lots of brochures and Nine Commentaries, each of them having a clean, clear, and beautiful appearance.
Our fellow disciples really appreciate receiving the truth clarifying materials that our family produces.
Whenever I have time, I clarify the truth to people face-to-face and help them withdraw from the communist party and its affiliated organizations.
(Clearwisdom.net) I was fortunate to begin practicing Falun Dafa in 1995 and now I'm 71 years old. Initially, I didn't consider the importance of elevating my xinxing, so many obstacles were caused by my own doing on my path of cultivation. However, Teacher never abandoned me and helped me to escape from jail. I would like to share some of my experiences. Please point out anything inappropriate.
A spy informed on me to the police in 2001. I was arrested and taken to a local police station. I looked inward and identified some shortcomings, such as an attachment to money. I sent righteous thoughts on the way to the police department in order to eliminate them.
Once I arrived at the station, I acknowledged silently to Teacher that I didn't do things properly during my imprisonment at a forced labor camp in 2001 and asked for His help to do well this time. An officer asked me where I got the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, pamphlets, and computer. I replied, “I won't tell you. Would you betray your friends?” When another policeman abused me, I wasn't able to maintain my xinxing and said some bad words. About seven officers immediately jumped on me, then each one slapped me while I was held down in a chair. I repeated silently, “You will feel the pain, not me.” I truly didn't feel even the slightest pain. My face didn't change color or swell up. They stopped after each of them hit me seven times, probably because their hands hurt so much.
Since beating me didn't work, two officers pulled copper wires from a machine, then tied one to my ring finger and the other one to my forefinger. They demanded to know the name of the person that I obtained the truth clarification materials from. I replied, “I already said what I had to say, so you don't need to keep asking. I'll never give up my Falun Dafa cultivation, no matter what you to do.” After making this statement, I directed my thoughts, telling the electric shock not to touch me. In fact, I felt only a cold shiver, even though they raised the voltage four times.
Five more officials came into the room. One mentioned the Nine Commentaries, so I asked him to tell me which parts of the Nine Commentaries were wrong and that, in case he hadn’t read it yet, he ought to take one with him. “What about the pamphlet?” he asked. “Isn't the pamphlet about teaching people to become better, to be true, compassionate, and endure?” He continued, “Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to take medicine.” I said “Why should practitioners take pills when they're actually not ill? Do you take pills when you're healthy?” He didn't have a response and left with his group.
It was nearly midnight. A young officer said, “I won't ask you any more questions. Go to sleep.” I thought, “I don't want to sleep. I shouldn't stay in this place, and I have assignments to complete outside.” I begged Teacher for help, saying, “Teacher, good practitioners reported on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website that they were able to unlock their handcuffs once they thought about it. What should I do now?” I asked Teacher for help, then kept reciting “I can become bigger or smaller,” while trying to pull my hands out. After a while my hands slipped out of the handcuffs. Unfortunately, the officer woke up at that very moment and asked, “How did you get your hands free?” He put the handcuffs back on, then went back to sleep.
After this lesson, I asked Teacher to keep him asleep. I released my hands from the handcuffs the same way, then untied my feet. I put on my shoes, walked to the corridor, and jumped through a window. A guard was standing beside the gate, and the wall was over 3 meters (almost 10 feet) high. I wanted to find a ladder or something else to help me climb the wall. There was nothing available. I saw a water pipe and stepped on top of it. Once I got on the water pipe, my body floated up in the air, so I grabbed the edge of the wall and pulled myself over it. That is how Teacher saved me from the evil.
I have experienced many miraculous things. At the beginning of July 2008, I traveled to a town about 20 kilometers away to distribute pamphlets. It started to rain before I completed that task, and although I didn't think of sending righteous thoughts, I recalled that Teacher once caused the rain to fall behind his car, because He didn't want to stop. I saw the rain move from falling in front of me, to dropping behind me. A few days later, I made the same trip and thought about sending righteous thoughts in order to keep the pamphlets dry from the rain. The rain fell, but when I got home, I realized that my clothes were dry, not even a bit damp. A practitioner said to me later, “You know what? Teacher put a cover over you.”
I recognized that Teacher was with me and protecting me every second of the day. I'll definitely cultivate well and do the three things better.
Selected from “Call for Articles about Divine Occurrences in the Human World”
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing and I began learning Falun Gong in October 1997.
In December 2002, I was illegally arrested from my home by Huairou 610 office, home security division, and the neighborhood committee. I was sent straight to the local brainwashing center.
During the detention I did not cooperate with any of the police orders. I would recite the Fa-rectification formulas in my heart. The police took turns trying to brainwash me with their lies. I refused to listen.
In order to eliminate the interference I was experiencing, I concentrated on the Fa-rectification formula and recited each word carefully. On the eleventh day of my unlawful incarceration, I told myself that I would not be there long and I would leave as soon as possible. With this one righteous thought, Master Li helped me out.
During the day, the windows were all wired shut and could not be opened. A guard monitored me all night. She did not sleep, but instead watched TV with the lights on. I did not know what the weather was like outside, as I not been outside since I being here but I told myself, “Nothing like that matters. I must leave today.”
I had neither a watch nor a clock, so I did not have the time. Instead I checked the time on the air conditioner remote, and made sure it was the same as that on the TV. I set the timer on the remote, and asked Master for help to awaken me at the right time. I fell asleep with the remote in my hand and I was woken up by a click sound from the remote. I was very alert and knew this was the right time to leave. I asked Master to strengthen me. I stood up and opened the door quietly and walked out.
I walked down the hallway and saw there was an electric baton on the office table with a guard sitting right next to it. He was blocking my way out. Yet I did not hesitate. I looked at him without saying anything and pointed to the table. He immediately moved the table out of my way and I walked out through the main entrance, and regained my freedom.
This miracle really shocked the local police. To this day they still do not understand how I left the brainwashing center.
Master said:
“In fact, let me tell you that when you truly practice cultivation, you have already at the beginning developed many supernormal abilities. You have already reached this high level, so you have many supernormal abilities.” (Zhuan Falun)
Although I did not know how to use my supernormal abilities, I knew that I was a Dafa practitioner and that I should not stay in the brainwashing center. With that one thought, I was free.
With steadfast faith in Master, Master was able to help me to achieve the best outcome.
(Clearwisdom.net) I have been looking inward in an attempt to find loopholes interfering with my cultivation. I found the word “cunning” showing up in front of me.
Among ordinary people, a cunning person is one who uses all sorts of tricks to get out of difficult situations, protect oneself and take advantage of things whenever an opportunity arises without being discovered. As human thoughts have become very complex, resulting from generations of human thinking, one thing lingers in front of people -- their thoughts of self-preservation. Selfishness is the characteristic of the old universe. People use everything possible to protect their interests from being compromised. They use all kinds of tricks and excuses to minimize the loss of their interests and to maximize their gain. They use cunning means to conceal their attachments.
For example, when I explained the facts about Falun Dafa to people, I thought to myself, “I will just talk to people and not give them anything (like a flyer) and that way, there will be no evidence that can be used to persecute me.”
I understand that the Fa rectification is coming to an end and there are fewer evil factors around, so there will be little danger in doing some truth clarifying work. I need to hurry to catch the last train so that I can reach consummation. I thought it would be safer if I just explained the facts about Falun Dafa verbally and did not make informational material. When I printed or downloaded some material for fellow practitioners, I would feel a burst of excitement. Deep in my mind, I felt when I did this kind of work (without going out to distribute truth-clarifying material) it was safe and I also did the things that could help me reach consummation.
This “cunning” thinking causes me to be unable to be tranquil during meditation. I was always thinking, “How should I handle this or that? How should I handle it so that I will attain the goal?” The basic premise was to protect myself from being harmed. Sometimes we feel “selfishness” entering into our every cell. We will suffer when our mind is driven by selfishness. When we don't let go of this notion, we use various complex and crafty ideas that are formed in ordinary society to deal with various problems arising in cultivation. We use various means to protect ourselves. In order to exonerate ourselves, we hold onto selfishness tightly and do not let go.
As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples and the lives of the new universe, how can we continue to embrace this principle of the old universe? Only by removing our selfishness, dissolving into the Fa and becoming a Fa particle, can we walk on the path of the Fa rectification. The opportunistic and cunning thinking, or thoughts arising from the declining morality of ordinary people, will not have any positive effect and cannot be brought to the new universe.
(Clearwisdom.net) A short while ago, a fellow practitioner introduced me to a young male practitioner who lived out of town. On our first date, we chatted and hit it off right away. I learned that he had started practicing Falun Gong before me. He was computer savvy, too. I was very satisfied with my new relationship. Later, we exchanged cell phone numbers. I was happy inside to finally find someone who was a practitioner and, at the same time, I could satisfy my non-practitioner father and others who worried about my ever getting married.
It was easy to handle a relationship between two practitioners. My new relationship triggered my attachment to human sentiment and affection and was not at all what I expected. He was quite reserved and a little indifferent, and I did not like that. In my mind, that was not a romantic relationship. However, I knew as practitioners, we should not behave like ordinary people. Next came a bigger test. One day, his cell phone was turned off. I could not send him text messages. I felt downhearted and could not control my feelings. I knew I should not be like that. I realized I had been trapped in my sentiment and the affection between us. That night after I burned incense in respect to Teacher, I said, “Teacher, I am deeply swamped in human sentiment and affection and can't get out of it. Please help me.” Later in the evening, I talked to him on the phone, and we started to argue about some trivial things. He said something that really hurt my feelings. He said he did not want to continue talking to me. Out of anger I told him we should not continue our relationship.
He did not talk to me anymore. I felt like I had lost my bearings, became depressed, and could not sleep. Around four o'clock in the morning, I had a dream in which he told me over the phone, “If you don't mind your temper, you won’t ever get married.” I was so mad I started quarreling with him in my dream.
I felt smothered because I could not talk to my mother about this, nor did I want her to worry about me. I could not talk to ordinary people either because a conflict among practitioners should not be brought to ordinary people for solutions. I did not want to resort to other practitioners because I felt ashamed. The next day was long and difficult. I wanted to cry, but could not find anywhere to do it. It was the first time I had ever felt how painful human affection could be. At work, my mind was occupied by the breakup. I tried to resolve the problem by myself, but I knew it was because of my strong human attachment. Suddenly, I thought, “Why treat a fellow practitioner as an enemy? Even if we can't be a couple, aren't we still fellow practitioners? Fellow practitioners should have the closest relationships.” After that thought, I could view the whole situation rationally with a calm mind.
During the next few days, I thought about the purpose of fellow practitioners getting married. I remembered reading an article on Clearwisdom that pointed out that fellow practitioners should use caution when entering marriage. If it was for fame, personal gain, and affection, it would be better not to get married. I reviewed my short relationship with my fellow practitioner. We met one time and had a few telephone conversations. Frankly, I could not even remember how he looked, so why was I so upset about our senseless breakup?
When I viewed this from the standpoint of an ordinary person, we were both at fault, 50-50. From a cultivator’s point of view, I was the one at fault. As a practitioner, I should look within, not outside, for answers.
One day, I was reading Minghui Weekly and realized that many of the articles were about practitioners looking inside. I was reminded that practitioners should help one another not tread on or hurt each other. Another article encouraged practitioners to learn how to apologize to resolve issues with ordinary people and with fellow practitioners. The author of this article mentioned that he had apologized many times in cases where he was not at fault. I thought about it and decided I should apologize to my fellow practitioner to clear up any friction between us. Immediately, my attachment to fame and vanity came out. I feared I might get hurt if I initiated the apology. I consoled myself, thinking, “I am not in the same town as he. We may never see each other again, so ignoring this would not be a big deal.” I realized this thought was wrong. Practitioners around the world are a united body. How could I think living in a different town would change that? In the end, I gathered up my courage and wrote a short text message of apology.
I thought I had deleted his number from my phone, but I noticed I had forgotten to delete it from the “sent message” section. I sent him a text message. He replied quickly with a very short text accepting my apology. As I read his reply, I had mixed feelings and a little bit of anger, “So you think you were right? How can you accept my apology so easily with justification?” I was somewhat disappointed because his text meant to put an end to this issue. I did not respond. I realized I was attached to getting a definitive result and attached to the affection between us.
I regret I did not resolve the issue completely and my heart was not pure. In another dream, I met a man who was introduced to me by a fellow practitioner. He was handsome, with a personality exactly the opposite of the practitioner before. He was very outgoing and paid attention to my needs of vanity and ego. The practitioner before him had acted as if I was not important. In the end, I asked, “How is your practice?” He replied, “I do the exercises about once a week.” I then asked, “How often do you study the Fa?” He said, “I have not finished reading Zhuan Falun even once.” I knew I did not want to have a relationship with him. I did not want to hurt his feelings, so I said, “You are a very good person and would make an ordinary girl very happy, but I hope you can read the book at least once.” Then I woke up. The dream was so vivid and it felt so real. Suddenly, I thought, “What if I met such a person in real life? Who would I choose, him or the other practitioner?” I became enlightened. If I wanted to get married and enjoy an ordinary person’s life and affection, I should go find an ordinary person who supported Falun Gong. It brought me back to the old question, “Why do fellow practitioners enter marriage?” If it is to enjoy human life, it does not make a difference whether one marries a practitioner or an ordinary person. If I had chosen to be with the practitioner before, I would have to endure loneliness in the eyes of this human life with ordinary people. The purpose of fellow practitioners marrying should be to form a unified body and a better environment for mutual advancement in cultivation while assisting Teacher in Fa rectification. The purpose should not be affected by apparent conflicts in personalities in an ordinary person’s life.
After being enlightened, I felt great. I started reading the Fa on my cell phone. I came upon a page where it said,
“She came to the class and told me this story, and I was very pleased. Our practitioners’ xinxing have indeed improved.” (Zhuan Falun)
I was moved to tears that fell down my cheeks. I knew Teacher was encouraging me.
After this whole experience, I obtained something. I used to think that fellow practitioner and I were equally to blame. Now I don't think that at all, because I have realized it does not matter who is at fault and who is not, especially if it is based on human affection and sentiment. At the time, I felt hurt. However, it was not that he hurt my feelings; it was due to my human attachment and desire for affection. Why would I blame that practitioner for hurting me? Teacher said,
“If this sentimentality is not relinquished, you will be unable to practice cultivation. If you are free from this sentimentality, nobody can affect you. An everyday person’s mind will be unable to sway you. What takes over in its place is benevolence, which is something more noble. ” (Zhuan Falun)
Letting go of one's sentimentality and attachment to human affection is the key to resolving the problem.
I hope my sharing will benefit fellow practitioners. Please point out anything that falls short of the Fa.

I. The Current State of Practitioners’ Educating Their Children in Dafa
It seems that when Dafa practitioners’ children were little, they could keep up with Fa study; it was just that the children were not required to practice the exercises. Then as they grew up, they started to have more contact with society. These little Dafa disciples started to show some slacking off or even walked away from Dafa. How to guide these little disciples has become an issue that exists widely and needs to be addressed. Master said,
“Yes, when the children were of an age such that the Dafa disciples could personally take care of them, things were great. You taught the children to memorize the Fa and do the exercises every day. As soon as the children started school, though, things changed. The impact that society has on children is truly large. It has to do with the morality of all of society sliding downwards. Children have no way to resist it. As soon as they enter society, they enter a big dye vat. If you are able to urge your children to study the Fa and do the exercises as you did before, it will be harder for them to slide downwards along with society. Many young Dafa disciples have gone in the other direction and become quite bad as they grew up, and that is the reason.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference”)
In response to a practitioner’s question, Master said,
“Disciple: At present, the children of many Dafa disciples are caught up in ordinary things. What are we to do?
Master: Indeed, human society is one big dye vat. Society is contesting with Dafa disciples for people. And this even applies to Dafa disciples’ kids, who live in this setting too: bad things are trying to drag them down. If the child does not cultivate, or doesn’t have a good environment, then he really won’t be able to ward those things off. Yet a Dafa disciple’s responsibilities are enormous, and so we must not only save the world’s people but also those close to us.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference”)
II. Correctly Understanding the Issue from the Fa
1. Positioning the Fundamental Relationships
(1) The child came to a practitioner’s family to become a Dafa practitioner. To have a blood relationship with the practitioner is a secondary reason.
(2) What is the right relationship between parent and child?
There are many facets of this. For example, in traditional Chinese
culture, the parent's main role is not to amuse the child, but to
teach. From the ancient text “Three Character Classic”, it is said
that “To feed without teaching
is the father's fault.”
(3) Educating one's children well is part of a Dafa practitioner's cultivation, and we must do it well. For the child, it is true salvation that's at stake. Dafa practitioners’ educating their children well is also validating the Fa, and it is their responsibility.
2. Several Major Warped Notions Have Developed, Which Have Mainly Resulted from the Lack of Family Education and the Inversion of the Parent-Child Relationship
Today it is emphasized that parents should have an “equal exchange” of views with the child and let them go their own way. In traditional Chinese culture, discipline was one aspect of a formal education for a child. There were “family rules” in ancient times. Now it is overly stressed to let a child go forward based on his/her interests. It overly emphasizes the interests of the child, which causes the child to focus on himself more and more as the center of the world. It is common that parents do not let their children endure hardships or that parents don't discipline them strictly.
The Queen of Xiaozhuang taught the young Emperor of Kangxi very strictly. When Kangxi was four years old, he was required to be on point duty for two hours like a soldier, and recite the ancient classic articles everyday.
III. Some Examples to Illustrate Key Points, Which Is for Reference Only
Here we want to share with fellow practitioners some examples in which the parents, who are Dafa practitioners, used the Fa to guide the education of their children.
1. Correctly Positioning the Relationship Between the Children's Schoolwork and Cultivation
As one example, parents told their children that part of their parental duty is to lead them in cultivation in Falun Gong, and they told the children that they should not take having too much homework as an excuse to not study the Fa or practice the exercises. The parents told the children that cultivation is most important because their lives are for cultivation in Dafa. Master has explained several times in his Fa lectures,
“Let me tell you, I see that among the kids who practice, many have a significant background. Don’t ruin them. If you can’t improve through cultivation and in the meantime ruin them as well, the sin is tremendous.” (“Teaching the Fa and Answering Questions in Jinan” in Zhuan Falun Fajie - The Law of Zhuan Falun Explained)
So we must put effort into leading well our little fellow practitioners. We should help the children feel the greatness of Dafa. We should create strict requirements for their Fa study and practicing the exercises. Master said,
“Actually, I've already discussed this very clearly in Zhuan Falun. Studying the Fa well definitely won't affect anything of yours in your cultivation, and on the contrary, it will help you get twice the results at your job or with your schoolwork with half the effort.” (“Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference”)
One practitioner’s daughter, who is in high school, recites the Fa for half an hour and practices two of the first four sets of exercises every day before she starts to do her homework. This practitioner’s son, an elementary school student, recites the Fa for half an hour and practices the five sets of exercises every day; later he can finish his homework in one-and-a-half hours. Every weekend, they recite the Fa and practice all five sets of exercises. Furthermore, their meditation exercise lasts two or three hours. The practitioner requires the children to recite Hong Yin, Hong Yin II, and Essentials for Further Advancement books every day. The practitioner also asks their children to practice the exercises every day. In their daily life, this practitioner uses the Fa to guide and educate the children.
2. Correctly Positioning the Relationship Between the Parents and the Children, and Eliminating the Warped Notions Regarding Children’s Education
Being parents, practitioners have the responsibility to educate their children well, and the children have to obey their parents. Always indulging or even spoiling children would ruin them. Parents should ask their children to follow their requirements.
It requires persistence and patience for good parenting and parent-child relationship to develop. Parents should not be misled by sentimentality and make a compromise with children. There was a little girl, four to five years old, who cried and yelled to make her parent, who is a Dafa practitioner, buy something for her. Many people came to watch her and the parent felt very embarrassed. However, this practitioner insisted on not indulging the girl’s stubbornness. Ever since then, the girl no longer had that bad habit.
A boy, who just started to go to school, was ordered by his teacher to stand for some time as a punishment. He did not agree with the teacher, and he put mud on the teacher’s chair. The parent took the child home and spanked him on his buttocks. The parent also helped the child think through why he had been spanked.
3. Providing Children with a Good and Pure Environment, and Eliminating the Interfering and Polluting Factors
The parents need to arrange the children’s time well. They should ask the children to spend sufficient time in Fa study, practicing the exercises, and doing the Fa-validation. We should limit their contact with those messy and bad things in society, such as TV shows, periodicals, games, and other things with bad content.
During school breaks in the winter or summer, parents should try their best to have the children learn the Fa. They can lead the children to recite Hong Yin, Lunyu, and Master’s scriptures. With the children’s minds full of the Fa, they will naturally have good health and minds.
4. Paying Attention to the Children’s Practicing the Exercises and Have Them Practice the Exercises Everyday
Master said,
“It’s very good if a child can perform the exercises” (“Lecture at the First Conference in North America,” 1998)
My understanding is that the effect will be best and most obvious if the children can practice the exercises. With the children’s practicing the exercises, their third eyes open easily. With their meditating, the bad substances are eliminated, and the children become peaceful and no longer get agitated.
One parent realized that “enduring suffering and hardships” is a part of cultivation. So this parent made a strict requirement for the children’s leg postures when they practiced the meditation exercise. When the children could not cross their legs in the standard way or when they became lazy, the parent would ask them to increase their meditation time by ten minutes, so as to let the children practice endurance.
The practitioner's son started to practice the exercises when he was five years old. The practitioner’s daughter can become tranquil during her meditation. Another couple, who are Dafa practitioners, have two children, one is seven years old and another eight years old, who had never practiced the exercises. They sent their two children to the home of the practitioner mentioned above. During the first time of meditating, the two children could meditate in the lotus position for one hour. On the third day, they could meditate for two hours. In six days, they recited Lunyu and thirty poems from Hong Yin. The two children stayed in the practitioner’s home for only one week. After they went back home, they studied the Fa and practiced the exercises every evening. The two children used to rank about 30th in their school studies. After one month, they both scored 100 0n their monthly examinations and both were ranked first in their respective classes.
One eight-year-old child practiced the second set of exercises, holding the law wheel, and his third eye was opened. He saw that Master was correcting his postures of holding the law wheel. He also saw that when they practiced the meditation exercise, Master’s law bodies sat in a circle; there was a big Falun on the top, and the practice site was enveloped in red light.
During the winter break, four children, two eight-year-olds, one 11-year-old, and one 16-year-old, could usually meditate in the lotus position for over two hours. The children knew that it was for their own benefit, so they competed with each other to see who could meditate longer. They could see Master was beside them, and they were all willing to meditate a little longer. They also expressed their gratitude to that practitioner who guided them.
5. Leading the Children to Do Fa-validation Work Together
One practitioner often takes her children out to do Fa-rectification work. She told the children that there is nothing more important than offering sentient beings salvation. The children donated the money that they got from the spring festival holiday to the truth-clarification materials production site. The children also helped to write truth-clarification words on the Chinese currency bills, Dafa banners, and so on.
One practitioner’s daughter is 16 years old now. One or two months after she strictly required the girl to study the Fa and practice the exercises, the girl’s grades in school improved noticeably. In the second half of her second year in middle school, her grades climbed from being ranked 258th to the fifth among more than 2,000 students. In the third year of middle school, she was very busy with schoolwork, but she still persisted in reciting the Fa for half-an-hour and practicing two of the first four sets of excises. She easily passed the exams and got into a well-regarded high school.
One practitioner’s boy is in elementary school. There are a total of over 100 students in the two classes. His rank used to be seventh from the bottom. In one year, his rank has climbed to fourth place. He received a bronze prize for his painting at an international competition. He was in third place at a district chess competition.
6. Hold a Minghui Class
The Minghui class took nine days. The children started each day by reciting Lunyu, Hong Yin, or Hong Yin Volume II. After all the children arrived, they watched one video lecture of Zhuan Falun. The children then learned to practice the exercises. The children were also told stories related to traditional Chinese culture.
Later, after the children mastered the exercises, they started to practice the four standing exercises and the meditation exercise, each for half an hour. At home some little practitioners could not meditate in the lotus position. But at the class, they could finish the half-hour meditation.
Through the nine-day class, the parents also gained the opportunity to share understandings. They realized that leading the little practitioners well is important, which is their responsibility. Through looking inward, they have found some degenerated notions and strengthened their righteous thought of leading the little fellow practitioners well. They also realized that what is important is persistence in their daily lives. These children have obtained the opportunity to temper themselves. With the parents’ agreement, every week or every other week, they organize the children to study the Fa and practice the exercises.

Tang Emperor Taizong Valued Education
Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang
Tang Emperor Taizong placed great emphasis on how he brought up his children. He wrote for Li Zhi, the Crown Prince, The Emperor's Norms, which is composed of twelve chapters. It included “Decency of the Emperor,” “Establishment of Relationships,” “Pursuit of Talents,” “Investigation of Government Officials,” “Acceptance of Advice,” “Elimination of the Wicked,” “Avoidance of Complacency,” “Promotion of Frugality,” “Punishment of the Bad,” “Emphasis on Agriculture,” “Monitor the Military,” and “Promotion of the Intellectuals,” everything that an emperor needed to pay attention to. He pointed out: “These 12 principles are the basis of being an emperor. Whether the empire is wealthy or not depends on them.” He also said: “Both self-cultivation and management of the state are based on them.” He earnestly advised the Crown Prince: “Please set Yao, Shun, Yu, Tang of Shang, and King Wen of Zhou as your examples. Learn from those great kings. ... If one does not have respect, he cannot lead his kingdom for long; if one does not have compassion, he cannot persuade good people to work for him. ... Try your best and work hard, and have a high standard of morality.” The Emperor's Norms can also be regarded as a bible for parenting.
Tang Emperor Taizong also wrote Injunctions to the Prince of Wu, Injunctions to Royal Relatives. He taught his children: “The most precious thing is that one has a high standard of morality.” He emphasized the importance of morality and told his children that, in order to have good fortune, they needed to do more good deeds and have good morals. He taught them: “As princes and princesses, you must first be self-restrained. You must motivate and discipline yourselves and be strict with yourselves.” He then shared with his children one of his long-standing doctrines: “From the outside, I cut myself off from recreation; within myself, I refuse to indulge in entertainment. I must put my energy into the affairs of our empire.” He also told his children: “Whenever you wear something, please show your sympathy for those women who keep silkworms; whenever you eat something, please think of those men who plow the land. One should always lead a simple life and remember those who work hard to make food and clothes.
Tang Emperor Taizong chose teachers with good morality, high prestige, and ample knowledge for his sons, including Fang Xuanling, Li Gang, Zhang Xuansu, Li Baiyao, and Wei Zheng. He also ordered his sons to show great respect for the teachers. He told his children to respect their teachers: “Treat your teachers as your fathers.” He also told the teachers to be strict with his children and encouraged them to point out what his sons did wrong. All the teachers obeyed his orders, and did a good job in teaching his children, which would have been impossible without his understanding and encouragement.
Tang Emperor Taizong placed great emphasis on moral teachings, using simple examples from worldly phenomena. Once he saw the Crown Prince resting under a tree. He told his son: “Although this tree is not straight, it can be used as good construction material if it is marked with straight lines. As an emperor, although he may not be talented, he still can be a good emperor if he listens to others for advice.” Tang Emperor Taizong also used history to teach his children. He asked Wei Zheng to compile Good and Bad Stories of Ancient Lords and gave the book to his sons. He asked them to use the books to evaluate themselves and their principles. He asked them to learn from history and pay attention to their self-cultivation of morality in order to be a good person and a good prince.
