(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Chuanjiang died in Jiamusi Prison on the morning of March 8, 2011, shortly after Mr. Qin Yueming died on February 26 and Mr. Yu Yungang on March 5. All three practitioners had been held since February 21 in the “Strict Management Ward” before their deaths.

Jiamusi Prison is currently in lockdown. According to sources from inside China, many prison guards were in the third ward on March 9 and March 10. It is likely that they were scrambling to conceal the facts.

Mr. Liu Chuanjiang was sentenced for practicing Falun Gong by Wuyiling Intermediate Court on November 5, 2008. First held in the ninth ward in Jiamusi Prison, he was put in the “Strict Management Ward” on February 21, 2011. It is highly likely that he was severely tortured and in critical condition. In order to cover the fact that Mr. Liu was the third practitioner who had been tortured close to death, the guards dared not rush him to the hospital directly from the “Strict Management Ward.” They claimed he had heart problems, and took him back to the third ward first, then carried him to the emergency room. Mr. Liu passed away in the prison hospital at around 1:00 a.m. on March 8, 2011. His body was taken away at 2:00 a.m., about an hour later. On March 10, Mr. Liu's family was deceived by the authorities into approving the cremation of his body.

The “Strict Management Ward” was set-up on February 21 and holds nine Falun Gong practitioners selected from all the other wards. The purpose of creating this special ward is to achieve a “transformation” rate of 85 percent. Those transferred into this ward were not allowed to bring with them any personal belongings or daily necessities. They are not allowed family visits or phone calls or to purchase daily necessities. Each practitioner is monitored and hounded by several prisoners, who endlessly pressure and torture him to write statements saying that he will stop practicing Falun Gong. Three of those nine have now died, Mr. Liu and Mr. Qin Yueming of purported but unconfirmed “heart conditions” and Mr. Yu Yungang of outright torture.
