(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in eight provinces. In this report, four practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Hongfa Arrested
Mr. Wang Hongfa from Haizhu District took his young daughter Wang Minghui to visit his hometown in Hubei Province. At the train station, they were questioned and searched by police. Because he was carrying Shen Yun DVDs, the police took him away and are detaining him.
2. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chi Shuqin Severely Ill as a Result of Persecution
Ms. Chi Shuqin from Shixian Town, Tumen City had severe high blood pressure while being held at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province. She has been hospitalized. Ms. Chi was sent to the forced labor camp for a one-year term because she went to Tumen to request the release of Falun Gong practitioners who were arrested in June 2010.
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Liying and Ms. Bai Yun Detained in the Jilin Detention Center
On January 25, 2011, Ms. Zhang Liying and Ms. Bai Yun were taken away by plainclothes police while distributing Falun Gong DVDs in the Jilin No. 12 High School. Now they are being detained in the Jilin Detention Center.
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Rao Congqing and Ms. Hu Aihong Arrested
On November 5, 2010, Mr. Rong Congqing and Ms. Hu Aihong were arrested and their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their computers, printers, Dafa books, and Falun Gong materials. Mr. Rao is being detained in the Qingling Township Detention Center while Ms. Hu is in the Erzhigou Detention Center.
5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ouyang Haiwen Arrested
Mr. Ouyang Haiwen was arrested in mid-January 2011. He is currently being detained in the Wuhan Second Detention Center.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Mei Shuqing Arrested
Ms. Mei Shuqing, who is in her thirties, works in Wuhan. She was arrested on January 24, 2011, because she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She is currently being detained in the Wuhan Second Detention Center at Duoluokou, Wujiashan, Dongxihu.
7. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiao Ling Sentenced to Five-year Prison Term in December 2010
8. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Lanqin Arrested
Ms. Zhang Lanqin from Beihua Village, Qianmotou Township, Shenzhou was reported to police on December 13, 2010, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Taiguzhuang Village. Zhang Bin from Taiguzhuang government took her away. She was released after being extorted of about 2000 yuan.
9. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Sujun Arrested
Li Zhizhou from the Dongchan Town Office, along with domestic security agents from Anju District went to ransack the home of Ms. Yin Sujun in Dongchan Town, Anju District, Suining at 3:00 p.m. on January 16, 2011. Ms. Yin was forcibly taken away.
10. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yibin Detained in the Guan County Detention Center
11. [Shaowu, Fujian Province] Mr. Jiang Jianping Brutally Persecuted in Forced Labor Camp
Zhao Yong and other guards brutally tortured Mr. Jiang Jianping. Zhao Yong hit and kicked Mr. Jiang and forced Mr. Jiang to stand on a floor covered with lubricant. Mr. Jiang was either handcuffed and hung or handcuffed behind his back, which severely hurt his wrists. His wrists took six months to recover.
12. [Fujian Province] Mr. Lin Yide from the Structural Materials Institute Arrested on January 19, 2011
13. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Luo Dongsheng arrested
On the afternoon of January 20, 2011, Mr. Luo Dongsheng was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong in the Jiangnanhongdu Park Community. The police ransacked his home and took away Falun Gong materials. He is currently being detained in the Qinhuang Detention Center in Meizhou.
