A Female Miner: The Upward Climb of My Life's Path

December 09, 2011 |   By a practitioner from Mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) Greetings to Master! Greetings to fellow practitioners!

Here I'm sharing my life and my experiences on my cultivation path.

1. Miserable Childhood

I was born in the 1950's to a miner's family. I am the youngest of 5 brothers and a sister. Seven family members depended on my father's very small salary. When I was a year old, my mother sent me to my grandmother. It was the 1960s, during the big famine. I was malnourished, frequently got sick and was extremely thin. When my mother and older brother came to bring me back, I was on the brink of death. On the way back home, my mother wanted to throw my body into a river. However, my brother touched my face, felt I was still alive and insisted on taking me back home.

2. Tough Adult Life

After my father retired, I took over his position. I got married and had a daughter. For a short while, my life was not bad.

However it didn't last long. My husband's leg was broken while he was working, and shortly after that his factory went bankrupt. All the employees were unable to find work, and each got only 180 yuan a month in compensation. My husband and I went to the country and opened a small restaurant which barely provided us with enough to live on. Later, my husband got stomach cancer and died.

After he died, it was time for my daughter to go to school. I supported us by giving taxi rides on a three-wheeled-bicycle. Later I got a cleaning job at a school. I had to clean two buildings and wash bedding for more than 3,000 students and was paid only 300 yuan a month. Even such a tough and low paying job was taken away from me, and I was fired.

Next I was introduced to a family in Heinan Province to work as a maid. My job was to take care of an elderly lady who couldn't take care of herself. In the daytime, I cooked. At night, I had to get up many times to help her turn over or go to the toilet. The old couple was very nice and I took them as my own parents. My salary was 500 yuan plus room and board. I have done this job for ten years.

3. Fortunate to Obtain Dafa

The most fortune thing that happened to me, was obtaining the Fa. In the beginning, I watched and listened to Master's lectures repeatedly, and also studied the Fa with fellow practitioners. I learned to read characters while studying Zhuan Falun. Since I was barely literate my progress was slow, and it took me six months to read Zhuan Falun the first time. The Fa opened my wisdom, and I could soon complete Zhuan Falun once a month, and later, one lecture a day. This was the miracle I experienced. However, I couldn't read any ordinary books, newspapers or magazines.

I diligently practiced the exercises. In the beginning I could only sit in double lotus for several minutes, then more than 10 minutes. One month later, I could sit in double lotus for more than an hour. Because I practice the exercises a lot, I frequently saw Falun and I felt my body levitate when I meditated.

4. Making Truth Clarification Materials Even Though I Do Not Know How to Spell

On July 20, 1999, the CCP launched the persecution, but I refused to stop practicing. I insisted on studying the Fa and practicing the exercises. I also distributed truth-clarifying materials to passers-by on the streets.

Soon we bought a computer to make materials, but I didn't know how to use it. I didn't know the English letters nor did I even know how to spell. However, with steadfast belief in Master and the Fa, I quickly learned how to download files from the Internet, and how to print fliers. Gradually I learned how to edit booklets and print Dafa books. In short, I could do everything that was needed to run a materials production center, such as: editing photos, posting quit the CCP declarations, record DVDs, etc.

I have witnessed many practitioners donate a lot to support our materials center in order to save sentient beings even though they are not rich. At that time, I was very short of money, I hoped each penny could be used as two. Nevertheless I still donated one month's salary, 500 yuan, to create materials.

Once I was kidnapped by the evil police and was detained at a detention center for a month. They interrogated me many times. No matter what they asked me, I simply replied, “I don't know.” With Master's protection, I was released unconditionally.

In order to save my relatives and friends in my hometown, I decided to leave the old couple I had worked for for 10 years as well as my local fellow practitioners and returned home. I will do the three things well, fulfill my vows, and not disappoint Master.
