Falun Dafa around the World: Copenhagen, Denmark (Photos)

January 10, 2011 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Located in the eastern part of the Zealand, and facing across the Oresund to the Swedish harbour of Malmö , Copenhagen is the political, cultural and economic center of Denmark. It has the features of both a modern city and an old one. At the beginning of the 11th century, Copenhagen was a small place for fishing and trading. As the trade became increasingly prosperous, it developed into a commercial town in the early 12th Century. Early in the 15th Century, Copenhagen became the capital city of the Kingdom of Denmark. In the Danish language, Copenhagen has the meaning of 'Commercial Port' or 'Trading Port'. The City has a population of one million, including its suburbs, and accounts for 1/5 of the population of the whole country.

Among ancient buildings, palaces and castles are representative. In Amalienborg-the Danish Royal palace, the Royal Guard perform the changing of the guard ceremony at lunch time, where people can still feel the majesty and supremacy of imperial power, while Christianborg, located in downtown Copenhagen, now serves as the building for the country's Parliament. The big clock on top of the Copenhagen City Hall is an astronomical clock with a complex mechanism and ingenious craftsmanship.

A bronze statue of the fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen is located on Hans Christian Andersen Boulevard next to the City Hall. His left hand holds a book and his right hand is gesturing. It seems that Andersen is telling those amazing fairytales to innocent children. Not far away from the City Hall, there is the King's Park (Kongens Have), where every weekend Falun Gong practitioners come to practice the exercises.

Tivoli Park in the city center is the oldest amusement park in Copenhagen. It has been open to the public since 1843. The classical architectural style tells the people of the park's long history. Copenhagen's central railway station, constructed in a classical style, is just opposite the park.

The Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference in Copenhagen and the publication of Zhuan Falun in Danish

In Copenhagen, the ancient Chinese traditional culture has spread. Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, teaches its practitioners to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good people. Since the first session of Falun Gong in Copenhagen in 1998 , more and more practitioners have been practicing the system. On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Jiang faction used the entire state resources to persecute Falun Gong and initiated a brutal persecution of the 100 million practitioners who followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The CCP also extended its persecution overseas. However, people who know the facts will not change their righteous thoughts by violence and lies. Falun Dafa spread to many countries and regions overseas, and the Danish Falun Dafa Association was formally founded on October 15, 2001.

The 2002 European Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held on September 22, 2002. Falun Dafa practitioners from across Europe, including the UK, Germany, Denmark, Iceland, France, Switzerland and Sweden, gathered in Copenhagen to share their cultivation experiences at the Conference.

International Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibit and Divine Land Marching Band visit Copenhagen

From July 23 to 30, 2008, the International Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition was held in Copenhagen, Denmark for the first time. These art works show people the truth of what has happened to Falun Gong practitioners in China, as well as the grace of Falun Dafa, the journey of the practitioners and their uncompromising spirit when facing brutal persecution. The first appearance of this Exhibition in the Danish capital moved and shocked the Danish people and the visitors from various other countries.

A westerner, standing for a long time in front of a painting entitled "Persecution in China", said to a practitioner, "I see from this painting, the past, present and future. In the past, her husband was tortured to death. At present she is sitting beside her husband who died in prison and is very sad. But I see a firm determination in her eyes. I have seen how she will behave in the future. She will continue to adhere to her belief. "

On July 7, 2007, the European Falun Dafa Divine Land Marching Band participated in the performance and parade of the Copenhagen International Jazz Festival. The Jazz Festival is one of the most important jazz festivals in the world. Before the parade, the Nordic representative of the various human rights organizations called upon all Governments and the media to pay attention to China's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and to the withdrawals of millions of people from the CCP and its affiliated organizations triggered by the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party during the past 2 years.

Appreciating the Marching Band's performance and their stirring music, many local people cheered and danced. Behind the Band followed a spontaneous group of more than twenty people. Accompanied by the Band's music, those people walked by following the rhythm step by step.

Exposing the CCP's atrocity of organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners draws attention from the Danish media and politicians

The CCP's live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners aroused wide and deep concern from the Danish public. On the morning of March 15, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners exposed and protested against the CCP's atrocities in front of the Chinese embassy in Copenhagen. They exposed the CCP's setting up of secret concentration camps, killing Falun Gong practitioners, harvesting their organs for profit, and burning the bodies in secret incinerators to destroy all the evidence. The protest called upon the international community to investigate the issue immediately, to stop these inhuman acts, and to conduct an emergency rescue of Falun Gong practitioners who face life-threatening persecution.

Danish mainstream media reported this stunning case.

On April 4, 2006 Danish Christian Daily published an article by Parson Leif Hansen (Leif Bork Hansen), entitled "Resistance (to atrocities) will always be everyone's responsibility,".

The article points out: "Now a new report reveals that the organs were harvested from live people, and mainly from Falun Gong practitioners detained in secret concentration camps."

"Kidneys, livers or corneas and other organs were being sold. The remaining part of the bodies were immediately incinerated. This can only happen in a country with no religious belief. "

A major Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, published an article on May 16, 2006, entitled "Predatory organ harvesting occurs in China ". The author was spokesman Christopher Brekne of the Danish NGO "China Human Rights Network" .

Denmark Jyllands-Posten: "Predatory organ harvesting occurs in China"

The article pointed out: "The theft of organs in China's concentration camps is an unprecedented evil in the world today. If we continue to passively watch this large-scale killing, or turn a blind eye, and adopt a policy towards China of 'separating business and politics', we will bear a heavy guilty conscience, and will not be able to face our maker in the future. "

A major Danish newspaper, Information Report, published a long article on May 5, 2006 by reporter Martin Gottske. The article was entitled, "Making profit from the prisoners of capital punishment", and detailed the CCP's atrocities of live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners for profit.

Another major Danish newspaper, Berlingske Tidende, published an article on June 17, 2006, entitled, "Strong condemnation of the CCP's organ trading". The article mentioned that European Parliament Vice-Chairman Scott during his visit to China, met with two Falun Gong practitioners, and became aware of the CCP's live organ harvesting from them. Scott strongly condemned the CCP's systematic crimes.

On July 13, 2006, the Danish news agency Ritzau released news about the Canadian independent investigators' report on the CCP's live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners for profit.

This news was widely reprinted in the mainstream media, the Danish mainstream newspapers, Berlingske Tidende, Jyllands Posten, the Danish TV ZDF and others, all reported this news with eye-catching headlines.

On August 4, 2006, the Danish Christian Daily again published an article regarding this case. This time the article was entitled "The CCP selling organs" by Vera Bundgaard, introducing the atrocities of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The article said that the Canadian independent investigation report made public pointed out that "the CCP regime imprisons Falun Gong practitioners into special death camps, for the purpose of harvesting their organs." The article stated that for years, many human rights organizations had been trying to make people realize the seriousness of the problem and to implement the relevant international law. But so far the international community is still hesitant to act, leaving the practice to continue and for the middlemen to make fortunes.

In April 2006, Soren Espersen, a member of Parliament in Denmark and the spokesman for foreign affairs of the Danish People's Party, stated in an interview with The Epoch Times, "When hearing this, my first reaction was, this is simply too horrible. I asked the Danish government to question the Chinese Communist regime about the issue, whether it was true or just a rumor? I also requested the CCP to allow the International Red Cross and United Nations representatives to visit and investigate Chinese prisons that were described as death camps. As far as I know, there are several such concentration camps in China. It is necessary to allow the representatives from International Red Cross and United Nations to make an independent investigation in an independent way in China. "

Enquiry from Ms. Gitte Seeberg, Danish EU Member

On April 19, 2006, a Danish EU MP, Ms. Gitte Seeberg, made an enquiry to the European Commission, regarding the CCP's live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. She wrote:

"What specific actions will the Committee take to stop the slaughter of Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP in secret concentration camps?
How will the Committee be able to grasp a comprehensive understanding of the Falun Gong practitioners' conditions in those secret concentration camps?

How will the Commission specifically raise the problems of the CCP's serious human rights violations during the EU-Sino trading talks?

Letter from a Danish Social Democratic Party member, an EU MP, Mr Dan Joergensen

On April 20, 2006, a member of Danish Social Democratic Party and EU MP, Mr Dan Joergensen, wrote in his letter to the Danish NGO-- "China Human Rights Network, "We agree with your deep concerns about the current situation of Falun Gong practitioners. A cruel incident in Sujiatun concentration camp, was recently exposed by a Chinese journalist, which made it clear that there will be a long way to go for China regarding human rights. And this will be a process that will take a long time. Therefore, it is necessary to put pressure on the Chinese leadership both from Denmark and the EU."

Protesting the persecution, calling for conscience, media and public support for Falun Gong

On August 29, 2001, Falun Gong practitioners conducted a hunger strike in front of the Chinese Embassy in Copenhagen. During the hunger strike, Danish Broadcasting Station One conducted an interview with Falun Gong practitioner Marco Hsu, in front of the Chinese Embassy, on the subject of what Falun Gong is, the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong and other relevant issues.

On September 19, 2002, Denmark's third-largest newspaper, Politiken, published a news article regarding the Denmark Asian Cultural Festival's cancellation of Falun Gong practitioners' art performance. "If the Chinese authorities were involved in the review of Danish cultural festival, it would be against Danish policy and should be condemned. " A legal spokesman for the Danish People's Party (and MP of the Danish Parliament) questioned the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the role of the Chinese authorities in this matter.

On September 29, 2003, a letter to the editor appeared in a major Danish newspaper, Berlingske Tidende, "Many Westerners have long been plagued by a phenomenon, why there are so many Chinese fanatical, irrational movements, such as the decade-long Cultural Revolution." "For religious people, the CCP deceived them by saying that Falun Gong is a cult; for kind-hearted people, the CCP portrayed Falun Gong practitioners committing suicide and fabricated homicide allegations; for technology and highly educated people, the CCP spread lies that Falun Gong practitioners have no culture, but are ignorant and superstitious; for those simple-minded and not sensible people, the CCP manipulated them with hate propaganda; for nationalists and people avoiding politics, the CCP provoked them by telling lies such as Falun Gong was funded by foreign anti-China forces, and participated in political matters."

On the World Day Against Torture, Falun Gong practitioners held an anti-torture exhibit in Copenhagen

June 26, 2004 was the "World Anti-Torture Day. " On Copenhagen's Town Hall Square, Falun Gong practitioners in Denmark and Sweden held the first Anti-Torture Exhibition in a Nordic country. They displayed vividly the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, which shocked the passers-by.

The next day, a major Danish major newspaper, Politiken, published a live interview with western Falun Gong practitioners. The article not only described the persecution of human rights in China, but also a detailed introduction of Falun Dafa and content of its website. A professional photographer took video footage and made VCDs and presented them to the practitioners.

Falun Gong practitioners started the legal proceeding against the CCP's persecution , while Channel DR of the Danish national television, covered the action.

In August 2005, Jia Chunwang, the CCP's Supreme Prosecutor and the head of the 610 Office, who committed crimes in persecuting Falun Gong, was accused of the crime of torture in Denmark. On his arrival in Denmark to participate in a conference organized by the International Association of Prosecutors, he was summoned. The case raised widespread attention in the mainstream media in Denmark. The major newspapers, radio and television stations reported its progress promptly. The lawyer of the lawsuit said to Berlingske Tidende that according to the "United Nations Convention Against Torture, " Denmark has the obligation to investigate Jia's crime.
