Practitioners Exchange Insights and Experiences
(Clearwisdom.net) On September 5, the 2010 New York Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held at Javits Center in Manhattan with six thousand five hundred practitioners from all over the world attending. In the afternoon, Master Li Hongzhi came to the conference and gave a lecture.

At 2:40 p.m., Master Li Hongzhi came to the conference. He gave a 30-minute lecture, then spent one and a half hours answering practitioners' questions.

Throughout the day, a total of sixteen Chinese and Western practitioners shared their experiences.
Ms. Wu from New York talked about how she promotes the Shen Yun show to her co-workers. She had a righteous thought when she started working at the company: “I will save all the employees here and the Shen Yun show is the best gift.” More than 100 people from her company have bought tickets.The Shen Yun promotion team in New York, consisting of five practitioners, shared their experiences. Gail discussed her experiences dealing with people from higher end society. She also talked about looking inward and being compassionate to fellow practitioners. Wenyi told the story of how she promoted Shen Yun at an exclusive social gathering, where she sent forth righteous thoughts and asked Master for help. She got to know several VIPs, and introduced Shen Yun to them. Jeanne talked about how she overcame her shyness and introduced Shen Yun to potential sponsors. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Wang shared their understanding of how to set aside one's own things and harmonize with fellow practitioners.
Ms. Shen from San Francisco told how she has helped Chinese people quit the party on the Quit-the-Party-Hot Line over the last five years. Ms. Li from Los Angeles shared how she has sold advertisements for a media organization run by Dafa practitioners, since 2003. Ms. Li told how she clarifies the truth to customers, sends forth righteous thoughts, and does her best to serve her clients. Many of her customers have never left her, and some of are now placing more and larger ads with the newspaper.
The conference concluded at 6:00 p.m.
(Clearwisdom.net) On September 4, more than 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners from around the world staged a march in Manhattan's Chinatown to appeal for public support and call for an end to the persecution of the practice in China.
Mr. Yang videotaped the march. He said that he was surprised by the number of people in the march. As the procession made its way down Mott Street, many Chinese immigrants and tourists looked on.

The procession consisted of three main sections: Falun Dafa Around the World, The Persecution of Falun Dafa in China, and Awakening and Quitting the Chinese Communist Party. Each section was made up of several subgroups.
In the "Falun Dafa Around the World" section, the Divine Land Marching Band, Celestial Maidens, and the Dragon and Lion troupe led off with their beautiful performances. Practitioners from dozens of countries displayed their local banners to showcase the popularity of Dafa around the world. In the middle of this section and with two Westerner practitioners in yellow exercise suits, a giant model of the book Zhuan Falun cruised along. As the core teaching of the practice, Zhuan Falun has been translated into over 30 languages.
In "The Persecution of Falun Dafa in China" section, practitioners in white marched with portraits of Chinese practitioners who have died as a result of the persecution in China.
The last section was also led by a Divine Land Marching Band, which performed pieces such as "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Drumbeats Shake the Ten Directions," drawing praise from many spectators.
Mr. Yang came from Shanghai several weeks ago and was impressed by the march. He said, "This is something average people could not do. So many people from all over the world, and there are so many non-Chinese. I never expected to see so many people here at their own expense."
"The United States of America is the land of the free, and she allows people of different backgrounds to voice their views," said Mr. Jiang. He praised the magnitude and orderliness of the march.
Older ladies Ms. Luo and Ms. Guo distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers alongside the procession. They said that they had met many people who already knew about the persecution. Two bystanders told them that they would learn the Falun Gong exercises and asked for truth-clarifying CDs. Several Chinese immigrants were impressed by the number of practitioners in the march.
A young student chatting with Ms. Luo said to her, "The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) fears Falun Gong because it draws so many people together. The CCP can control many Chinese groups, but it cannot control Falun Gong. That is why the CCP wants to persecute you. It will persecute any group out of its control, and this is how it does it."
Ms. Chen is a longtime resident of Chinatown. She said of the march, "It has been over 10 years, and every year I have seen their march, which has always been spectacular. In the procession, you can see that there are many young people and they are all healthy. The practice gives people good health and has nothing to do with politics like the CCP says."

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zeng Huaguo made his living selling home appliances in the Jiadiancheng Community, and his property was valued at more than 1000,000 yuan. He was an honest businessman, with a son and a daughter who are both married, and all were selling home appliances in the Jiadiancheng community. Depressed due to working too hard, Mr. Zeng once lived a miserable existence. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 2007, and it mentally and physically changed him into a completely new person. He experienced no illness after he began practicing, and others noticed the miraculousness of Falun Dafa.
Mr. Zeng was handing out truth-clarifying materials to a man on June 21, 2010, and told him with compassion "I sincerely care about your well-being." He told him and others how Falun Dafa, the genuine Buddha Law, saved his life. He asked the man to please not believe the slanderous propaganda spread by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and not to commit crimes against Dafa.
That man was a plainclothes officer, and he arrested Mr. Zeng and took him to the Songjiatang Industrial Zone Detention Center. The police ransacked his home at 11:00 a.m. and on the same day, took his Falun Dafa books away. He told the police in the detention center how he benefited from practicing Falun Dafa. His son-in-law signed the three statements on his behalf, and he was released ten days later.
On August 19, 2010, Mr. Zeng went to the Shaodong County Domestic Security Division compound to request that he be given back his Falun Dafa books. Officers arrested him and, within six days, had cruelly beat him to death. On his back was a cut 13 stitches long. The police did not notify his family when he was taken to the hospital but did notify the neighborhood administration to restrict the information. They delayed letting the family know of his death for 24 hours and falsely claimed: "He died by jumping off a building at the hospital."
Mr. Zeng's son saw the 13 stitches on his back and asked the police, "Since you said he died from jumping off a building at the hospital and there video cameras are all over the place, please provide a video of his jumping as evidence." The police lied instantly, saying, "The camera was not set." The police gave orders that no one in the hospital be a witness, threatened his family, and bribed them with 260,000 yuan to buy their silence.
Ms. He Benxiang from Jiadiancheng Community Forced to Leave Home
Ms. He Benxiang, 39, also lives in the Jiadiancheng Community. After Mr. Zeng was beaten to death, domestic security officers broke into her home multiple times, but she was not there. She had to leave home to avoid being arrested.
Ms. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 2004, and her bad temper changed to being loving and calm. In 2008 she found more than a dozen sacred Udumbara flowers blooming on her window glass at home. The flowers are snow white and fragrant and bloom only every three thousand years.
In early July 2009, Domestic Security officers ransacked her home when she was not there and took her computer, TV, phone book, and residence registration booklet. These officers went to her home again on July 29, 2009, and arrested her, ransacked her home again, and detained her for 12 days in the Shaodong County Detention Center.
One month later, Domestic Security officers broke into her home early on the morning of September 19, 2009, and tried to arrest her. Ms. He escaped by climbing over a wall. Officers came back at 5:00 a.m. on September 20, 2009, broke both the front and back doors, and found nothing, but they took her MP4 player. They told people that the Shaoyang City Police Department ordered Ms. He's arrest before the October 1st National Day and to detain Falun Dafa practitioners during this "sensitive time period."

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Ding Zhenfang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was carried out of her prison cell on a stretcher on August 2, 2010, when her family members went to see her for the second time. She had lost a tremendous amount of weight as a result of cruel torture in prison. She is now skeleton-like, speaks haltingly, and is very feeble.
In her 60s, Ms. Ding was sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2008 and has been incarcerated in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison 9th Ward. Trying to force her to give up her faith, the prison authorities put her in a small confinement cell and used all kinds of ruthless methods to torture her. She began a protest hunger strike that prompted prison authorities to increase their use of torture on Ms. Ding, which has almost killed her. She is at death's door.
Ms. Ding started the practice of Falun Gong in 1996. Within two weeks, all of her medical problems, including stomach disease, a spinal disk hernia and pain in her teeth, were gone. She decided to abide by Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and to be an ethical and good person.
Incarcerated, fastened to a metal ring, and sentenced
In July 1999, the Chinese Communist regime launched the cruel persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Ding Zhenfang and her husband were arrested and held in Dalian City Detention Center in November. During this time, detention center head Wang fastened her to a metal ring on the ground twice. The first time was for 10 days, and the second time for over 40 days. She couldn't raise her head or sit up with her back straight. Her hands and feet were fastened together. Even though she was once bleeding badly, Wang still ordered an inmate to beat her.
Two years later, in September 2001, Ms. Ding was illegally sentenced to three years in prison and taken to Shenyang City Women's Prison, where she was incarcerated for 15 months.

In July 2003, Shidaojie Street Police Station agents arrived at her home, searched it, and arrested her. Her father was so shocked and frightened that he became ill and bedridden, and died two years later.
While in Yaojia Detention Center, Ms. Ding told the guards, "Falun Dafa is good." However, they brutally struck her. Then they handcuffed and shackled her, and dragged her to the third cell of the 7th Prison Ward. Her hands and legs were spread apart and tied to a bed in a torture mode. The "Stretching Bed" is an extremely cruel method of torture.

To protest her imprisonment, Ms. Ding started a hunger strike. Guard Su Ying, prison doctor Wang Ying, and an individual named Jia Ling brutally beat and force-fed her every day. Ms. Ding was close to death from 59 days of hellish torture. The center officials notified her family to come and take her home. She was so thin that her family members barely recognized her.
Torture in a Detention Center in 2004
Ms. Ding was incarcerated in the Yaojia Detention Center for four days beginning August 18, 2004. More than eight guards and prison doctors Su Ying, Wang Ying, and Jia Ling tortured her 24 hours a day. After that she was sent to Dalian Detention Center.
While there, the guards tried to force her to denounce her faith by subjecting her to barbaric torture methods. The guards made her stand inside a metal cage for five days and after that put her on the "Stretching Bed." They immobilized her arms and legs onto a metal bed frame and taped her feet and hands. They put three wooden boards under her body and a thick heavy hat on her head. They sealed her mouth and nose with tape, poked in two holes for her to breathe, and made a hole to force-feed her. They fed her with food waste, thick garlic water, human urine, and even live spiders. Inmate Wang Chong, serving a sentence for fraud, put over two dozen live bugs on her body and at the same time pushed pins into her feet. Still not satisfied, the guards inserted a malformed steel tube into her mouth, and [having removed the tape] pried her mouth open with chopsticks to force feed her. Ms. Ding's mouth and tongue sustained severe injuries. Yet, the evildoers still poured basins of dirty water over her. Ms. Ding did not have a single spot on her body that was not injured. When Wang Chong left, Lu Qing replaced her. Lu Qing and someone named Zhang poked toothpicks and pins into her toes. When Ms. Ding was about to die, the two perpetrators locked her inside the metal cage and forced her to stand.

When Ms. Ding was in the No. 1 Strictly Controlled Team, the guards and inmates wrapped her entire body, including her head, in plastic sheets several times, leaving only two holes for her to breathe. Then they carried her to the metal cage and tied her to the frame. Following that, they pushed two one-inch wide wooden slats between her feet and the frame. Overnight Ms. Ding's feet swelled tremendously. This torture was even more brutal than the Tiger Bench.
Ms. Ding said her steadfast belief gave her the strength to break free from the evil den.
Torture in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp from October 29, 2004 to May 29, 2005
Ms. Ding was deprived of freedom between October 29, 2004 and May 29, 2005, in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was locked in a solitary cell three times for a total of 35 days. The first time she was handcuffed and tied to a metal bench for 16 days. The second time, after being tied to a metal bench for 10 days, she vomited blood. The prison doctor still force-fed her. She was sent to the hospital. The hospital doctors asked the prison doctor not to force-feed her, but the prison doctor and the guards force-fed her anyway. The third time she was locked in a solitary confinement cell for nine days.
Ms. Ding was eventually tortured so severely that she could no longer speak, and her tongue was covered with sizable lumps. Following the prison doctor's diagnosis of a stroke and bladder stones, she was on the verge of dying. Masanjia officials notified her family to take her home the same day she was diagnosed, because they did not want to be held responsible for her death. Her family could barely recognize her.
Arrested for the Fourth Time and Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
Ms. Ding was arrested for the fourth time around noon on August 16, 2007. Participating in the arrest were agents from the Kuiying Police Station in the Zhongshan District. She was immediately transferred to Yaojia Detention Center and held for 11 months. She was given an eight-year sentence in July 2008 and imprisoned in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison 9th Ward.
The prison authorities tried to force her to "reform" by locking her in solitary confinement and using different kinds of brutal torture. Ms. Ding began to suffer from heart problems, high blood pressure, and symptoms of a stroke.
When Ms. Ding's family members arrived to see her one afternoon in September 2008, prison officials made all kinds of excuses to keep them from seeing her. Her family finally saw her two years later, in August 2010, but she had already been so badly tortured that she looked like a skeleton and was close to dying.
Her family hopes that Falun Gong practitioners and others around the world will help rescue Ms. Ding and request that the prison authorities unconditionally release her.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Bao Siqin-Gaowa, an ethnic Mongolian, is 34 years old. She started practicing Falun Gong during her sophomore year studying in the Physics Department at Heilongjiang University. Two years later, in 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong. She went to Beijing to appeal and was expelled from the university. Ever since she returned home to the Baokang Township of Tongliao City in Inner Mongolia, the local 610 Office has never stopped monitoring and harassing her. During a ten-year period, she was sent to forced labor camps twice and a brainwashing center and was illegally detained. The torture that Ms. Bao was subjected to during her detention in Tumuji Forced Labor Camp from 2007 to 2010 resulted in her becoming paralyzed. She still cannot walk as of this writing.
On the morning of June 3, 2007, police from Ms. Bao's hometown broke into her temporary dwelling in Jilin City, Jilin Province, that she had rented after leaving home to avoid persecution. The police officers included Yin Wei, the head of the 610 Office of the Baokang Police Department, and others from the Tongliao City Police Department. They took Ms. Bao back and illegally detained her in the Baokang Detention Center, then took her to Tumuji Forced Labor Camp the next morning.
On June 5, the authorities took her to the labor camp hospital for an extended period of torture. Ms. Bao refused to get out of the vehicle when they arrived at the hospital. Guard Hu Bo forced her out and dragged her up the stairs to the second floor as Ms. Bao shouted, "Stop persecuting Falun Gong!" The driver, Guan Yongli, kicked Ms. Bao, with the last kick landing on her jaw, which bled profusely.
The authorities conducted a month-long intense "transformation" procedure on Ms. Bao. More than 20 female guards worked on try to "transform" her. They force-fed her, made her stand for long periods, slapped her face, deprived her of sleep, otherwise physically assaulted her, and threatened to send her to prison.
Ms. Bao was taken to the fourth floor of the women's section of the forced labor camp, where she wasfurther ill-treated, from December 12 to 27, 2007. Guards Zhai Qiuhua and Ma Hongyun conducted the torture. They extended the lengths of time they deprived her of sleep and forced her to stand, with the longest time being 36 hours. They slapped her face with flyswatters, causing her skin to peel. The face slapping continued until she started having heart problems.
At lunchtime on December 17, guard Yin Guijuan suddenly grabbed Ms. Bao's hair and dragged her out of the dining hall, then ordered two inmates to carry her downstairs. Ms. Bao resisted and requested a meeting with division head Jia Mei. When she did not receive a response, she protested by conducting a hunger strike for seven days.
On December 25, 2007, guard Yin Guijuan struck Ms. Bao in the face dozens of times in the dining hall after lunch. She then had Ms. Bao carried to the second floor and kicked her left thigh three times. Ms. Bao kept shouting, "Falun Dafa is good" during the ordeal. In an attempt to stop her from shouting, Yin Guijuan tore off several strips from a dirty mop and stuffed them into her mouth. The blows to her face made eyes bleed and her face swell for several days. Her leg was injured so badly that she could not turn over in bed without pain for over a month.
On December 27, 2009, the labor camp authorities once again detained Ms. Bao on the fourth floor for intense "transformation" sessions. They brought in other inmates and so-called "experts" from out of town to conduct the "transformation," which was not successful. They had to return her to her regular team. She was finally released in June 2010. But due to the long-term torture at the forced labor camp, she is unable to walk.
Ms. Bao was originally a bright university student, but now she is paralyzed as a result of brutal torture by the Baokang Police Department. Those that have participated in persecuting her include Bai Yuhua, Xiao Zhong, Heba Genna, Yu Qinglin, and Yin Wei from the Baokang Police Department.
Due to the fact that the Baokang Police Department confiscated her ID, Ms. Bao has not been able to look for a job. Her total financial losses are estimated at more than 100,000 yuan (USD $15,000), a huge sum in China.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Shuhua from Boli County, Heilongjiang Province, 47 years old, was illegally arrested by the Boli County Domestic Security Division again on July 21. She is now in Qitaihe City Detention Center. Previously, she was held in Boli County Detention Center and she was denied visitation rights.
Pressured by Ms. Gao's family, the Boli County Police Department transferred her from Boli County Detention Center to Qitaihe City Detention Center at the end of July. Although head of the county detention center Gao Yunjun and head of the Domestic Security Division Shi Wanxin said that Ms. Gao's case was being handled by Qitaihe City and that Boli County had no say in the matter, they were lying. In reality, they secretly collected information on Ms. Gao, intending to sentence her to forced labor. On August 10, officer Dong Ye from the County Domestic Security Division told Ms. Gao Shuhua's husband to sign the documents sentencing his wife to forced labor. Subsequently, officer Bai Yugang from the same division went to the detention center to inform Ms. Gao that she had been sentenced to two years of forced labor. He also told her that she would be transferred to a labor camp on August 18.
Ms. Gao's family was informed of her being sentenced to forced labor on August 14 when they visited her at the detention center. Before that, on August 11 and 12, her mother and second-oldest sister went to the Qitaihe City Police Department to ask for her release when they learned that she had been transferred to Qitaihe City. Qitaihe City Police Department head Zhu Kongqin said, “This case should be handled by Boli County. We only acted on instructions given by the county when we transferred her to Qitaihe City.” After he was told that Ms. Gao suffered from heart disease and her heart could stop at any moment, he said, “We will release Ms. Gao if Boli County agrees to it. You can go home now.”
Ms. Gao's mother and sister returned to Boli County again to get authorities there to release her. This time, county police department head Gao Yunjun and domestic division head Shi Wanxin avoided meeting with them.
At present, Ms. Gao is still being held in Qitaihe City Detention Center. We appeal to those with a sense of justice to pay attention to this case and help rescue Ms. Gao.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Huangpu District Brainwashing Center, or "Ideological Education Center," was one of the many brainwashing centers funded by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). What kind of an organization was it?
1. General Information about Huangpu District Brainwashing Center
Established in early 2001, the brainwashing center was officially known as "Huangpu District Ideological Education Center." It was located inside the Huangpu District Police Department Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation Center and controlled by the Huangpu District 610 Office.
The brainwashing center was infamous for its brutalities and high "transformation" rate of practitioners. The Liwan District Brainwashing Center in Guangzhou City later merged with it, making it the worst place in Guangzhou for the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Zhang Mengye, an alumnus of Tsinghua University and former classmate of current CCP head Hu Jintao, was taken to the brainwashing center on May 18, 2002. He was cruelly tortured and suffered greatly.
Towards the end of 2003, the CCP began to close down the brainwashing centers in each district in Guangzhou, except for the Huangpu District Brainwashing Center. Its name then changed to Guangzhou City Legal Education School and was controlled by the Guangzhou City 610 Office, until it finally closed in 2004.
A. Infamous, Cruel Prison
The CCP didn't disclose the existence of the Huangpu District Brainwashing Center to the public and hid it inside the Drug Rehabilitation Center. Between the 4th and 5th floors, only a sign that read "Legal Education School" was hung, and a separate, locked iron door was installed. Female practitioners were detained in one of the six rooms on the 5th floor and the male practitioners on the 6th floor. Cameras were installed in all of the rooms on the 5th floor, and practitioners had to sleep on the hard floor. All the practitioners had to take care of all their daily needs in that one room. A small room towards the end of hall on the 5th floor was where the perpetrators monitored practitioners around the clock and where practitioners were tortured.
Practitioners were forced to watch videotapes that slandered Falun Dafa and its founder, and write so-called "thought reports." The steadfast practitioners were taken to the torture room on the 5th floor at about 10:00 p.m. When the female practitioners heard the sound of tables and chairs being dragged in the room and the opening of the heavy iron door, they knew someone would be tortured.
B. 610 Office: Controlling Things Behind the Scenes
Personnel from the 610 Office were the main perpetrators of the torture of practitioners, even though they didn't physically torture the practitioners themselves.
They arranged fabricated scenes, such as forcing "transformed" practitioners to go downstairs and participate in activities while they were videotaped. This way, they could deceive the public about the real crimes being committed in the brainwashing center.
Wang Youcheng, in his 50s, from the Huangpu District 610 Office, was in charge of the Huangpu District Brainwashing Center and the main person in charge of persecuting practitioners.
Wang forced practitioners to listen to his "lecture" every morning. He would tell them, "There are over 60 torture methods. Let's see how long you can last. We know that for those transferred here, you will hit your head against the wall when you can't endure it any more. We have already conducted a study. [You can] go ahead and hit the wall since the majority of the time, you won't be able to kill yourself that way. Also, don't think about jumping out the window. I know that many of you would rather jump out the window than write the three statements. We have done all the preparation already. It's impossible for you to jump out of here. Many of you will cry out when you can no longer bear [the pain] and have to write the three statements. Your cries can be heard from one mountaintop to another." When practitioners were force-fed toilet water after being tortured, he said, "We know how much water a person can take without being in critical danger. What we want is to make it more miserable for you to live than to die."
Wang Youcheng often organized meetings to criticize practitioners. Steadfast practitioners were dragged to the stage, where Wang would shout and curse at them with the speaker on maximum volume, as if it was the Cultural Revolution again.
C. Hiring Thugs
The people who were actually torturing practitioners at the brainwashing center were thugs hired from the outside and called "instructors." They were on shifts around the clock to physically torture practitioners. Head instructor Qiu Chaohua and deputy head Zhan Yonglong were the most evil among them.
Qiu Chaohua often said to practitioners, "I have many torture instruments to use on you. If I beat you to death, we will just carry your body out. What can you do?" Once, practitioner Ms. Tan Shaowei lost consciousness during the day after she was tortured for a whole night. When other practitioners tried to help her, Qiu Chaohua yelled at them, "What are you doing? Anything worth watching? Isn't it just a fainting? Even death is just a death. When someone is dead, she will just be dragged out and it will be counted as a suicide!"
Qiu Chaohua was never ashamed of torturing female practitioners and led the way in torturing every practitioner. He beat or dragged practitioners by their hair at will. He even did the same thing to those who were the same age as his mother.
There were also several teenage girls who were hired to persecute practitioners. Initially, they were kind to the practitioners, but changed their attitudes as the guards continuously fed them lies about Dafa. They went from being unwilling to persecute practitioners to viciously participating in the tortures. Since they were not as strong as the male thugs, they would pinch and stab practitioners' sensitive body parts with a needle instead. At the age of 17, they showed no mercy even when torturing elderly ladies as old as their grandmothers.
D. Restriction of Information
To avoid being exposed, the perpetrators at the brainwashing center tortured practitioners only late at night. Practitioners were forced to wear long sleeved shirts and pants to cover up the injuries sustained from the beatings. They were also forced to apply medication to the injuries and to wash the bloodstains from their clothes right away. The practitioners were not allowed to have outside visitors until their bodies "recovered." They were also threatened to not disclose the persecution to the public.
Practitioner Ms. Xu Ming, a teacher at Guangzhou City Foreign Language Art Institute, mentioned the torture in a letter to her father. She was considered to be "leaking state secrets" and the letter was confiscated. As a result, she was not allowed to meet her family members.
Practitioner Ms. Shen Li suffered unimaginable torture. She was stripped naked and hung upside down while immersed in cold water. She was also deprived of sleep. She told her mother over the phone that she couldn't bear the torture any more. Immediately after that, her mother was illegally arrested by a 610 Office agent and detained in the brainwashing center because their phone had been tapped.
E. Forcing Practitioners and Their Families to Show Gratitude
At the Huangpu District Brainwashing Center, many practitioners were tortured to the limit of their endurance. When they could no longer bear the pain and yielded to the evil, they realized that they had betrayed their sacred belief and it was a great insult to their character. This type of spiritual torture was in many ways more painful than the physical torture. Many practitioners didn't cry out when enduring the tortures, but they cried loudly when writing the three statements. It is hard to fully describe that kind of humiliation.
After writing the three statements, the "transformed" practitioners had to write "transforming" materials. If what they wrote didn't meet the authorities' requirements or didn't express gratitude to them, the practitioner was labeled as being "incompletely 'transformed'" or "not 'transformed' from the heart." They also pressured practitioners' families to send the brainwashing center a banner as a gesture of appreciation.

Mr. Jiang Yongsheng, 39, is a teacher at the Sanjingzi Town Professional High School in Fuyu County, Songyuan City. On October 24, 2009, seven police officers including Luo Hongjian, head of the Fuyu County Domestic Security Division, and members of the 610 Office arrested Mr. Jiang while he was at work. He was taken to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Jiang went on a hunger strike. He has developed numerous illness symptoms including tuberculosis, chest pain, shortness of breath, low fever, back pain, blood in his urine, heart problems, stiff legs, low blood pressure, dizziness, high pulse rate, and blisters in his mouth. He is weak, pale, and afraid of sound. He is unable to make phone calls. His hands and arms shake. His family asked for medical parole, which the labor camp authorities denied.
The school authorities withheld five years of his salary. His wife has to support their young child and her mother with a meager monthly income of several hundred yuan.

Ms. Du Liming, 46, is a disabled practitioner. On July 11, 2010, she went to the Jieli area in Yidan Town in Yitong County to hand out DVDs of Shen Yun Performing Arts. Wang Yingchao, head of the Yitong County Domestic Security Division, and other officers arrested her. She was taken to the Yitong County Detention Center. She has been unlawfully held there for 38 days. When er family went to the police station to ask about her, they were told that her case had been sent to the Yitong County Procuratorate.
Ms. Du has been arrested and held in custody on numerous occasions since the persecution started in July 1999.

On August 16, 2010, Ms. Meng Congling from Linquan County was arrested by officers from the Zhuanji Police Station while distributing Falun Gong materials in the Zhuanji Farmer's Market in Jieshou City. Ms. Meng lost consciousness when she was taken to the police station. The officers refused to release her. She was later taken to the Jieshou City Detention Center.
At around 4:00 p.m., officers from the Zhuanji Police Station, officers from the Yuzhai Police Station in Linquan County, and officials from Yuzhai Village found keys she carried. The officers went into her home while no one was at home. They confiscated DVDs, a DVD player, and over 20 Falun Gong books.

5. [Jilin Province] Members of Jilin City 610 Office Try to Break into Mr. Chen Jixin's Home to Arrest Him
At around 7:30 p.m. on August 17, 2010, four officers, including Zhang Wen, from the Changjiang Road Police Station and members of the Jilin City 610 Office tried to take Mr. Chen Jixin from his home under the guise of verifying his residential status. The police were arrogant and rude. Mr. Chen's family refused to cooperate. The officers pounded on the door, then kicked it. They ignored the cries of a three-year-old child in the home. The standoff lasted for half an hour before the police left.
6. [Henan Province] Mr. Zhao Baozhuang Persecuted in Xinmi City Prison
Mr. Zhao Baozhuang is from Changge City, Henan Province. He has been persecuted on numerous occasions by the 610 Offices and officers from the Domestic Security of Mianchi County and the nearby Yima City.
At the end of August 2007, Mr. Zhao was followed by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office. He was arrested and taken to the Yima City Detention Center. The police also confiscated a notebook computer, a printer, a scale, and truth clarification materials in the retail outlet Mr. Zhao operated. The police cited the truth clarification materials as evidence and asked the Yima City Court to hand down a harsh sentence. It was not until the first half of 2009 before the court held a trial. Mr. Zhao was illegally sentenced to 12 years in prison. He refused to accept the sentencing and appealed to the Sanmenxia Intermediate Court. Peng Jianguo, a judge in charge of reviewing the appeal, sustained the original sentencing. Around March 2010, Mr. Zhao was taken from the Yima City Detention Center to the Xinmi City Prison.
Two other practitioners were sentenced to prison along with Mr. Zhao Baozhuang: Mr. Wang Mingyue was sentenced to seven years, and Mr. Yao Yinshang to three years.
7. [Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zheng Decai Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
On August 13, 2010, Mr. Zheng Decai from Zhuanghe City was sentenced to three years in prison, to be served at the Zhuanghe Detention Center. His family did not received notice of the trial. The judge claimed that no one answered the phone when the court tried to contact them. Mr. Zheng went on a hunger strike when he received notice of the trial.

On the morning of August 17, 2010, the Qiqihar Farm Reclamation Court held hearings. Mr. Yang Shouchen, Mr. Bai Shizhong, and Mr. Yang Liguang each made statements defending their innocence. Attorneys also defended the practitioners' innocence. The hearing lasted three hours. No decisions were announced at the end of the hearing.

On August 18, 2010, Mr. You Guoliang, who lives in Fanjiatun Town, was arrested by officials from the Siping Brainwashing Center with the help of the local police.

On June 22, 2010, several other practitioners were arrested along with Ms. Song Yunling from the Nankai District, including Ms. Li Jing Min and a practitioner surnamed Song. Three of the practitioners arrested have been released and returned home. Ms. Song Yunling has been sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. She remains on a hunger strike. She passed out several times.

On August 14, 2010, Ms. Wang Xiushuang and another practitioner from the Xinsheng Residential Community in Exploration Wells Division of the Dagang Oil Fields in Tianjin went to the Dahutong area to tell others about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were turned in to the police. Officers from the Dahutong Police Station arrested the two practitioners.
12. [Shanxi Province] Datong City Police Arrest Five Practitioners in Recent Weeks
On August 5, 2010, two ladies in their 60s were arrested in the downtown area while they were telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. The two practitioners remain in custody at the Chenzhuang Detention Center in Datong City. Their mothers, over 80 years old, need them to return home.
At around 9:00 a.m. on July 26, officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Chengqu Police Department suddenly showed up at the Mining Administration No. 3 Hospital. They arrested Ms. Wang Gaizhen and took her to the Chengqu Police Department. During the afternoon, the police pried open the door of Ms. Wang's home. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and other personal items. Ms. Wang is now being held at the Chenzhuang Detention Center in Datong City.
Two other practitioners from Yanggao County, Datong City, were arrested a few days ago. They too are being held at the Chenzhuang Detention Center.

On the morning of August 17, Ms. Zhu Shuxian and three other practitioners went to the Shahezi area in the Chuanying District, Jilin City, to tell others about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers from the Hadawan Police Station in Jilin City arrested the practitioners. The practitioners left the police department within three hours. They held firm righteous thoughts. That night, the police went to Ms. Zhu's home. They pressured her husband and found out that Ms. Zhu was at their daughter's home. The police went to their daughter's home and took Ms. Zhu to the Changyi District Police Department.

At around 8:00 p.m. on August 17, 2010, officers from the Changjiang Road Police Station claimed to be water meter readers. They broke into Mr. Chen Jingwu's home and took him to the Shahezi Brainwashing Center.

On August 16, 2010, Ms. Zhang Keli from Xixia City was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security of the Laishan District, Yantai City. Ms. Zhang is 35 years old. She works as a salesperson in the Laishan District.

Two practitioners have been held at the Xiaodian District Detention Center in Taiyuan City. One, in her 60s, is surnamed Li. The other, Mr. Du, is in his 30s.

On the morning of July 30, 2010, Mr. Luan Zhanshan, 69, from the Longsha District, Qiqihar City, was distributing informational materials at the city government and the Yanjiang Dam. Officers from the Hubin Police Station arrested him. On August 8, the police searched his home. The police confiscated his computer, printer, and other personal belongings.

On September 29, 2009, the police arrested Mr. Wang Zhenghong and his wife, Ms. Sun Xiuxia, at their home. The officers confiscated a computer, a couple of printers, and several boxes of printer paper. The prosecution documents prepared by the police were rejected by the procuratorate twice as insufficient evidence. The police have recently forwarded the case to the Erdao District Court in Changchun City. Mr. Wang is being held at the Changchun City No. 3 Detention Center. Ms. Sun is being held at the Tiebei Public Security Hospital.

At noon on August 16, 2010, Ms. Zhou Xianqing and Ms. Chen Xiuying, both from Liuhe County, went to the Xinlitun area in the county to hand out Falun Gong materials. They were turned in to the police. Bai Weimin, head of the Liuhe County Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Jianshe Police Station arrested them. They took the two practitioners to the police station and rudely searched them. The police took all the cash Ms. Chen carried with her. When Ms. Chen tried to grab the money, the officers threatened her.
An officer from Domestic Security recognized Ms. Zhou and led other officers to search Ms. Zhou's home. They did not find anything. The police took the two practitioners to the Liuhe Detention Center without notifying their families.

The police from Domestic Security had harassed him at his home. They tried to arrest him but were not successful.
On August 18, 2010, the Yongnian County police went to Ms. Xia Meiyun's home in Dongmingyang Village in Mingguan Town. They told her family that she was needed for a talk in the police department. If she failed to show up, the police would publish an arrest warrant over the Internet.

His family noticed that Mr. Huang was swollen.

1. [Elunchunqi, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Sun Lifeng Detained for an Extended Term
Ms. Sun Lifeng has been arrested and sentenced to three years of forced labor. On the way to the forced labor camp she managed to escape and became homeless and destitute in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.
On April 25, 2008, Ms. Sun was arrested while she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. In Qianjin Forced Labor Camp, her term was extended by two months because she did not write the three statements. She went on a hunger strike in protest. On November 22, 2009, the camp worked with the local police department in Ms. Sun's hometown and sent her back to Elunchunqi. Ms. Sun was sent to the Alihe Detention Center in Elunchunqi and has been detained for an extended nine months.

Ms. Guo Zhaoping from Yiyang City was arrested in Binzhou City in April 2009. She was beaten and one of her legs became paralyzed. She was later tried and sentenced to 10 years in prison at the Wuling District Court, then taken to the Hunan Province Women's Prison in December 2009. Because she did not give up her faith, her family was denied their right to visit. Her calf muscle is now atrophied and she is unable to take care of herself.
Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Guo has been arrested and detained and her home ransacked nine times. Before the Chinese New Year in 2001, she was arrested by officers from Domestic Security Division in the Heshan District, Yiyang City, and was sentenced to two years of forced labor at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. She was subjected to many different forms of torture. She went on a hunger strike lasting 74 days and was not released until she was in critical condition.
Ms. Guo left home in June 2004 to avoid being arrested and went to Changde City. In December 2005, she was arrested by officers from the Wuling District Domestic Security Division. She escaped from Linyi Detention Center in April 2006, and on April 21, 2009, she was arrested by officers from Beihu District Domestic Security Division in Binzhou City and brutally beaten. As a result one of her legs became paralyzed.

Three officers from Lijia Division Anti-cult Administration Office in Qijia Town, Changchun City, went to home of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Qin and his wife in the Lijia Division at 2:00 p.m. on August 27, 2010. They threatened the couple and ordered them to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong.

Ms. Yu Fanglin was secretly sentenced to five years in prison. She had been transferred from Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City to Dalian Prison. As a result of persecution, she can now only eat liquid food. She is very weak. Her family recently received a notice from guards for permission to visit.

Ms. Gao Shuhua from Boli County, Heilongjiang Province, Arrested Again

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Shuhua from Boli County, Heilongjiang Province, 47 years old, was illegally arrested by the Boli County Domestic Security Division again on July 21. She is now in Qitaihe City Detention Center. Previously, she was held in Boli County Detention Center and she was denied visitation rights.
Pressured by Ms. Gao's family, the Boli County Police Department transferred her from Boli County Detention Center to Qitaihe City Detention Center at the end of July. Although head of the county detention center Gao Yunjun and head of the Domestic Security Division Shi Wanxin said that Ms. Gao's case was being handled by Qitaihe City and that Boli County had no say in the matter, they were lying. In reality, they secretly collected information on Ms. Gao, intending to sentence her to forced labor. On August 10, officer Dong Ye from the County Domestic Security Division told Ms. Gao Shuhua's husband to sign the documents sentencing his wife to forced labor. Subsequently, officer Bai Yugang from the same division went to the detention center to inform Ms. Gao that she had been sentenced to two years of forced labor. He also told her that she would be transferred to a labor camp on August 18.
Ms. Gao's family was informed of her being sentenced to forced labor on August 14 when they visited her at the detention center. Before that, on August 11 and 12, her mother and second-oldest sister went to the Qitaihe City Police Department to ask for her release when they learned that she had been transferred to Qitaihe City. Qitaihe City Police Department head Zhu Kongqin said, "This case should be handled by Boli County. We only acted on instructions given by the county when we transferred her to Qitaihe City." After he was told that Ms. Gao suffered from heart disease and her heart could stop at any moment, he said, "We will release Ms. Gao if Boli County agrees to it. You can go home now."
Ms. Gao's mother and sister returned to Boli County again to get authorities there to release her. This time, county police department head Gao Yunjun and domestic division head Shi Wanxin avoided meeting with them.

Every day he studies the Fa, sends righteous thoughts, distributes materials about Falun Gong, and explains the truth about the practice to people. He also uses supernormal capabilities to eliminate evil factors in his dreams. He said that his Fa implement goes out to eliminate the evil as soon as he thinks about it.
Yesterday while he was sleeping, he saw himself sending righteous thoughts, but he didn't keep his palm upright and it fell sideways. Many people who were wearing yellow were looking at him anxiously. Two of them in white with "sentient being" printed on their clothing were holding Tiantian's hands and tried to return his right hand to the upright position. Those in yellow were shouting, "Strengthen your righteous thoughts, strengthen your righteous thoughts, strengthen your righteous thoughts!" until he woke up. He cried out in his dream, "Now I understand. Thank you!"
I see that many practitioners are not serious about sending righteous thoughts and their palms are not kept upright. Gods and sentient beings alike are really worried about this.

"If every Dafa disciple could manage to treat sending righteous thoughts correctly, and routinely have strong righteous thoughts, then all evil spirits throughout the entire world could be quickly dissolved. If all Dafa disciples could grasp this, and all sincerely achieve a state of having their righteous thoughts be at their most powerful point, then one day would be enough to resolve things. With every person dissolving the bad factors within the scope of his reach that he is responsible for, wouldn't the entire world change?"
Sending Righteous Thoughts Properly

Recently we went near a police station in the Nanshan area to send righteous thoughts. I saw some practitioners chatting instead of sending righteous thoughts. Someone whose third eye is open said to me, "While they are chatting, the evil beings in other dimensions are laughing their heads off. They said, 'Let them chat. They are not serious about this at all.'"
I was shocked when I heard this. Fellow practitioners, we are wasting time, and we don't have much time left for Fa-rectification. When we send righteous thoughts, are we just doing it for the sake of doing it?
Dafa disciples are future Buddhas, Daos, and gods. Sending righteous thoughts is sacred and solemn. It's a war between the righteous and the evil. We are being watched very closely. How could we take it so lightly that even the evil beings are laughing at us?
This means that we have fallen behind. By doing so, we are letting Teacher down and making the evil happy. So from now on, we should all do the best we can so that we can save more sentient beings.
(Clearwisdom.net) To better eliminate the evil that harms sentient beings, we wanted to establish an environment for clarifying the facts and saving more of the world's people. To accomplish this goal, practitioners in our city formed groups and have sent righteous thoughts as one body since the middle of August. We send righteous thoughts for two hours straight, three times a week.
The first day, it was just the four of us. We started out changing our hand gestures every half hour. I felt that the energy field was very strong and expanding outward. After an hour, our legs hurt, our hands drooped, and our thoughts strayed. Therefore, we kept reminding each other to keep our eyes open and sit straight so that we could focus on eliminating the evil. The more time passed, the more difficulties arose. After an hour and a half, we were on the edge and had a hard time remaining seated without moving about, but we were determined to continue in our effort and continued to eliminate the evil. After two hours, the fatigue and sleepiness disappeared. We felt that our minds were clear, our bodies light, and our spirits high. Perhaps this was the result of eliminating the evil in other dimensions.

"The heavens clear, the cosmic body transparent, the universe rectified,

During our experience sharing, we realized that not many practitioners had lasted for two hours on the first day. But those who did were sending righteous thoughts in a group. It seems that sending righteous thoughts as a group can help all practitioners to stay on track, as they can remind, help, and encourage each other. At the same time, the energy field is also very strong in a group environment and eliminates the evil more effectively. It's just like that old proverb says: "It is easy to break a pair of chopsticks, but very hard to break a bundle of chopsticks."
From that time on, many practitioners formed small groups to send forth righteous thoughts, helping us to coordinate well and improve as a whole. Everyone felt that they gained much from this experience.
The Fa-rectification is charging forward and its end is not far off. If a practitioner does not cleanse his/her own dimension, it opens a loophole for the evil and could result in persecution. When the evil saturates an area, the persecution of practitioners becomes rampant and the persecutors set up brainwashing centers and other ways to torture practitioners.
We strongly recommend that practitioners form groups to send righteous thoughts. Practitioners can use group Fa-study during the day, and they also can form groups at night--whatever is best depending on the circumstances.
Individual Fa particles form a small particle group, and particle groups form an even larger particle group. Let us utilize the power of practitioners' whole-body, use our mighty power to eliminate evil, save sentient beings, and help Teacher in the Fa-rectification.
(Clearwisdom.net) My mother is 89 years old. She started to cultivate in Falun Dafa in 1997. From the first day of her cultivation, she insisted on going to the practice site to attend the group exercises and group Fa-study. Because she was illiterate, she could only listen to other practitioners read while studying the Fa. In this way, she practiced all year round, rain or shine. She was in a good mood every day.
Since July 20, 1999, Falun Gong has been brutally persecuted and the practice sites were forced to close. Suddenly my mother did not have the cultivation environment. She could not understand, and wondered, "Falun Dafa teaches us Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and asks us to be good people. Why are we not allowed to practice such a great cultivation way?" Yet no matter what happened, she did not give up cultivating Falun Gong. She persisted in practicing the exercises at home. But since she was illiterate, she could not read Zhuan Falun or other Falun Dafa books. She could only listen to Teacher's Fa lectures on audio tapes.
In the summer of 2002, my mother came to live in my home. I said to her, "It would be best if you could study Zhuan Falun by yourself." She said, "I am old and illiterate. It is too difficult for me to be able to read the entire book." I encouraged her, "As long as you have the confidence, you can do it. Teacher said in Zhuan Falun that 'when it's hard to endure, try to endure it.' Please give it a try." After hearing my suggestion, my mother really started to read Zhuan Falun seriously. She wore her reading glasses and read from morning until night. When she came across words that she did not know, she would ask me repeatedly after I came home from work. Later, she moved in with my sister. Then, when she saw words she did not know, she asked her granddaughter. Two years ago, she could basically read Zhuan Falun on her own. Now she can read Zhuan Falun fluently.
My mother studies the Fa very sincerely. Every time, before she studies the Fa, she always washes her hands, sits respectfully, and then holds the Falun Dafa book with both hands to study. Dafa frequently shows her the magnificence of the Fa. She often tells me that every word in Zhuan Falun is glittering, and sometimes she even feels that it is very dazzling.
Last summer, my mother came to live with me. She had her menstrual period. It was really surprising. All of the Falun Gong practitioners know that Teacher adjusted her body and pushed her body toward a younger state. Since then, she told us that she can walk very easily and she feels like she is young again. Once I went to the Summer Palace with her. She climbed the tower on the top of a mountain in the park via the back of the mountain. The back of the mountain has many tall and steep stone stairs from the bottom all the way to the top. My mother, a nearly 90-year-old woman, can easily climb up the steep steps. Many tourists on the trail looked at her in surprise. It was also beyond my expectations, since my mother's legs frequently hurt before and she had to rest a while after just a short walk.
Since mother has started to cultivate Falun Dafa, my siblings and I have also felt much relieved. We don't need to worry about her health. We don't need to take her to the hospital. She has been very healthy since she started practicing Falun Gong. She does not take any nutritional supplements, not even calcium tablets.
My mother fully understands that Falun Dafa brought her a healthy body and mind. She also wants to share her good fortune and happiness with her relatives and friends. She often sends Falun Dafa materials to her old friends and tells them to recite, "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good" frequently, since it will benefit their entire family.
Falun Dafa is good! Only those who have truly cultivated the Fa can fully experience the magnificence and greatness of Falun Dafa. I wish that all the sons and daughters in the world could truly understand Falun Dafa and understand the truth of Falun Gong. This is good not only for themselves, but also good for their family. I hope that everyone will benefit from Falun Dafa and have a bright future.
(Clearwisdom.net) During the time I was working, Ms.Yang, who got along with me well, came to my office. She said that I had borrowed her notebook and asked me to return it to her. I remembered clearly that I didn't borrow her notebook. However, she insisted that I had. It was going to be hard to prove my innocence without a witness. I immediately realized that I was a practitioner and I must follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance no matter what the circumstance. I tried to be patient and compassionate. She was very anxious and said to me, "I don't care about the book itself, but I wrote some important notes on the back of it. Without them, how can I work properly with my colleagues?" What she explained to me was indeed a serious problem.
I tried to comfort her patiently and asked her to think it over, to see if she remembered who had borrowed the notebook. I added that, even though she couldn't remember who borrowed it, the person who borrowed the book would certainly return it. She was even more worried and pointed at me, saying, "I know you borrowed it, and you're trying to put the blame on someone else!" I didn't try to find excuses for myself and just recited the Fa silently. She saw that I had gotten quiet and said, "Go find it for me!" Then she left.
The next morning at work, she came to my office again, asking me if I had found it or not. I smiled, "I didn't borrow your notebook, but I can help you find it." I got up and went to another office. She followed me to the other office. I asked everyone, "Did anyone borrow Sister Yang's notebook?" Everyone answered, "No." She pointed at me again, "It is you who borrowed it!" I laughed at her, since she seemed so certain that I had borrowed her book. As I walked out of the office, she was still talking about it. A colleague named Li, who didn't get along with Ms. Yang, caught up to me and whispered to me, "Why are you laughing? She is really putting the blame on you. You should defend yourself." I just smiled at Li.
I went to another office on the same floor and still didn't find the person who had borrowed her notebook. I had to go back to my office. Right after I sat down, a coworker named Zhang came to my office, and Ms. Yang showed up again to ask me to return her notebook. Zhang heard her and said at once, "Sister Yang, I borrowed your notebook some days ago." Ms. Yang was confused and pointed at me again and asked Zhang, "Did you give the book to her?" Zhang smiled, "She is innocent. I am the one who borrowed your book. I am sorry I caused you to worry. I will return it to you once I am done here."
Ms. Yang was not worried anymore. She said to me, "Falun Gong practitioners are very nice. They are so patient. I am sorry I treated you unfairly. I bow to you." Then she bowed to me at the waist three times and said, "I am going to practice Falun Gong in the future."

Beginning a new life after obtaining Dafa
I was fortunate to learn Falun Dafa in the summer of 1997. When I began my cultivation, even though I was young, I had all sorts of illnesses. I had headaches whenever the weather was hot, sore throat, indigestion, gynecological diseases, irregular periods, rashes on my hands, chronic pain in my left wrist during weather changes, and a reoccurring fungal infection on my feet. I took lots of different types of medicine over a long period of time, but nothing alleviated the symptoms or cured the conditions. Instead of taking care of me, my husband ridiculed me.
Since medicine could not help, I tried to find a cure by practicing qigong. As there were volunteer instructors near my home, I purchased a copy of {{Zhuan Falun} and wanted to give Falun Dafa a try. I had heard others highly praising Falun Gong, saying that among all the qigong practices, it had the strongest energy field. I thought that if I took the medicine and did the exercises at the same time, my health had to get better. Later on, I heard from a fellow practitioner that when you practice Falun Gong you do not need to take any medicine, and the healing results are just as good. At first I objected to that, but when I began to read the book, I was too busy to prepare my herbal medicine mixture, and yet I felt better. When I finally cooked up a batch of medicine, I burnt it twice, and then I wondered, "Maybe I should not take the medicine anymore." I devoted myself to doing the Falun Gong exercises every day, and my health improved gradually.
Soon I was able to eat just about anything. My rash was gone, my periods became regular, and my headaches were also gone. Our compassionate Master had cleansed my body and given me my good health. Even though I was determined in my exercise practice, changing my mind took more time. But my body felt better day-by-day. Whenever I went through illness karma, I passed large clots of blood, yet at that time, there was only one thought in my mind: "I have Master, I have the Fa, what is there to be afraid of?" This thought saw me through numerous life and death tests. During my individual cultivation, the wonders of Dafa became deeply rooted in my mind, and these were the happiest two years of my life. I exercised and studied the Fa daily. My life was full, and I was happy in everything I did.
Shortly after I began cultivation, my marriage broke up. It could have been because my heart and mind nature (xinxing) had not elevated yet and because my ex-husband had been tired of my poor health for such a long time. He took all the savings out of our bank account and kept the house. I took my clothes and my Dafa books and moved into a dormitory at my workplace. I was left with 20,000 yuan in debt, half of which was his and half my sister's. The interest on the loan was 2 percent. My salary at the time was less than six hundred yuan, and as I had not completely regained my health, I knew that if I did not continue cultivating in Dafa, I would either die or go insane. Falun Dafa made me calm so that I could handle my life well. My ex-husband has never yet re-paid his debt to me. With the money he took at the time, I could have purchased a house of 80 square meters. Six years ago, I smiled and tore up the agreement for the re-payment of that debt. I understood that everything has its karmic relationship, and Dafa made me calm and composed in facing these difficulties.
Clarifying the facts in the classroom
When the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20,1999, the evil descended with an overwhelming force. I was dumbfounded. I began asking myself, "Is Dafa good? Am I being deceived?" I sat in front of a flower garden for over an hour lost in thought. This Fa had changed me so much, and I personally experienced all the changes. I truly believed that Falun Dafa is good and vowed that I would practice until the end.
Initially, fellow practitioners were afraid to see each other. Later on, we got together to walk along the river, and we gathered at a fellow practitioner's home to watch Master's lectures. We gradually became aware that we should step forward, so some practitioners went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal for justice for Dafa. Yet I still had attachments of fear and was not sure how to validate the Fa.
From studying the Fa I understand that everything to do with cultivation relates to Fa validation. I began to see how I could make use my career as a teacher to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa . All students in China have been brainwashed with the Chinese Communist Party's CCP doctrines and propaganda. They are impulsive and disrespectful of their parents, they fight and smoke and date at a young age. They do not believe in justice because they do not know the traditional Chinese culture that focuses on kindness, loyalty, etiquette, wisdom and belief, filial duty, moral integrity, and justice. Whenever I mentioned Falun Dafa, the young kids laughed about it. At the beginning, when students saw me in the distance, they would make fun of me because they knew I practiced Falun Gong. I was upset at first, so I waited until I was calm and could use the Fa to judge how I should deal with this situation. I knew this did not happen by chance. I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all evil factors behind them, and when I found those students, I was able to talk with them rationally, explaining my reasons for cultivation and just how much I had benefited from Dafa and how it has been embraced all over the world. After talking with them, many students changed their attitude toward Dafa and were able to greet me warmly whenever they met me.
In the classroom, I began to incorporate Chinese traditional culture into my lessons. For instance, when I taught Confucianism I would add in ancient Taoist and Buddhist philosophy. We then could discuss how modern day science is responsible for the enormous damage done to our natural environment. When the students could see the difference between modern day practical science and ancient Chinese science, they began to eliminate their atheistic ideas and they could then see the limitation of modern science.
When I talked about Falun Gong I gave examples from modern life, such as when TV, movies, and atomic bombs are controlled by people who do not value precious virtues, they not only spread lies and slander, they can also start wars. People then cannot distiguish between right and wrong and are manipulated by wicked influences. Under such circumstances, Falun Gong was suppressed and slandered. Through my clarifying these facts, many students understood the damage caused by all the previous "movements" under communism, including the devastating "Cultural Revolution." From that point on, some students expressed their clear support of the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and opposed any violence aimed at Falun Gong. The process of clarifying the truth to all sentient beings was also a process for me to eliminate the remnants of the Communist Party culture in myself. From initially being very timid, I was able to speak in an upright and self-confident way and was able to clearly speak out, and I gradully rid myself of fear and worry.
Next, I used small, everyday things in life to guide the students to abide by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. For the students who understood the truth, I noticed that their mentality improved and their grades also improved very quickly. Compared to other students in different classes, you could see a huge difference. Half of them were above the average.
Always looking inward and paying attention to sending forth righteous thoughts
As a cultivator, one should look inward unconditionally, and only then can one improve in heart and mind. Then it's easier to find the source of our attachments, eliminate all arrangements by the old forces, pay attention to sending forth righteous thoughts, and always be aware that Master is nearby. Only then is one able to create a safe and consistant cultivation environment.
One time, a substitute teacher lost his temper at the students in my class and he threw his cup, stating that he had never seen such class in his entire life. I was quite upset after I heard about his outburst. Even though I was upset, I still looked inward and I found that heart of mine for pursuing fame, wanting others to praise me, and the fear of being criticized. I spent two days and nights looking inwards to find these attachments, and when I finally calmed down, I felt the compassion in my heart also much improved.
Through sending forth righteous thoughts along and clarifying the facts to people, I found that the environment around me improved, as my karmic debt was paid off. I have two houses now. My family is also doing well, because they understand the truth about Dafa and this has brought them fundamental happiness. A fortuneteller told my eldest sister she would have a huge tribulation before the New Year, but she understood the truth, and recited in her mind, "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good," and she passed the tribulation. My mother had an illness this year, and she also recites "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." She is very healthy. Our family has benefited enormously from Dafa, and we witnessed the compassion of Dafa in the midst of brutal persecution. Unfortunately, my father and my other sister have not quit the CCP yet, so I will try my best to rationally help them understand the truth more deeply.
