(Clearwisdom.net) On July 11, 2010, Falun Gong practitioners Zhou Baisheng, Zhou Yongying and Li Xiyu from Jiahe county, in Chenzhou city, in Hunan province were seized by local policemen while distributing truth-clarification materials at the border region between Jiahe and Tuqiao Village, in Lanshan county, in Yongzhou province. They were taken to the Lanshan County Public Security Bureau that night and detained for fifteen days.

The next day, when their family members requested to see the practitioners at the detention center, the police demanded that they pay a fee. Every time the family members visited, they were either forced to pay meal fees or fines. Once, they were made to pay 1,000 yuan before being allowed to see the practitioners. Policemen from the Lanshan County even broke into the homes of Zhou Yongying and Li Xiyu in Jiahe County. Besides confiscating Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials, money from Li's home was also taken (exact cash amount unknown).

After fifteen days of detention, Zhou Yongying was released. Zhou Baisheng was taken to the Xinkaipu Labor Camp in Changsha City, Hunan Province where he was sentenced to a year of "re-education" through labor. Because his blood sugar level was over 200, the labor camp refused to accept him and he was taken back to Lanshan. The Lanshan Public Security Bureau extorted another 2,000 yuan from Zhou Baisheng's family before releasing him

Li Xiyu was sentenced to a year of "re-education" through labor at the Baimalong Women's Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. However, because she was diagnosed with heart disease, she was sent home as well. According to her family, they were also forced to pay a large sum of money before Li could be released.

Three years after Lanshan County's Public Security Bureau officers brutally beat and tortured to death Guo Huisheng, a former government employee at the Jiahe County Rule of Law Office, and sentenced Xiao Silan from Chenzhou City to three years of imprisonment, they have committed more heinous crimes against Falun Gong practitioners.
