(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xiu Lian is 57 years old and has practiced Dafa for 14 years. Master Li Hongzhi saved her from death's door, and Dafa has helped her mature. She is grateful to Master and wants to tell everyone how wonderful and glorious it is to be Master's disciple.
Dafa gave Xiu Lian a new life
Fourteen years ago Xiu Lian often said to me, "I just want to die, and quickly." Skin and bones from various ailments, she was tormented almost beyond her ability to endure. To earn a living, she would go to different homes to do sewing work. The little money she took in was not enough to pay her hospital bills. She frequently vomited and had blood in her stools from esophagitis, peptic and intestinal ulcers, and major episodes of hemorrhages, which nearly killed her. Once she lost consciousness and saw herself in hell. She tearfully begged the lord of hell to keep her there so she could end her suffering in this world, but it was not to be. The Goddess of Mercy brought her back.
She began practicing Dafa in early April 1996. When we were watching the lecture videos, she fell asleep. When I woke her up, she told me that several bones in her skull had been dislocated in an injury, and Master was adjusting them for her. She also saw countless Falun adjusting practitioners' bodies. Afterwards she would always arrive at the practice site early to clean up everything and do the exercises with everyone. She gained weight and was finally free of illnesses, was energetic and happy and living a brand new life.
Master helped her break free from prison
The communist regime began persecuting Falun Gong practitioners without restraint on July 20, 1999, and Ms. Xiu Lian appealed in Beijing for the right to practice three times. She was illegally arrested and held in no less than ten different facilities. Local police held her in a women's prison between 2002 and 2006 and forced her to do daily hard labor until her fingers were worn to the bone. She was also pressured to write a guarantee statement, but she wrote out Master's articles instead. The guards confined her in the basement and didn't let her sleep, yet she persevered in her belief and explained the facts to the guards and inmates, through which many people saw the wonders of Dafa. At the same time she sent righteous thoughts to disintegrate the evil and protect other practitioners. She often saw Master's fashen encouraging and protecting her.
When her sentence expired four years later, 610 Office agents attempted to coerce her to write a guarantee statement and threatened to send her to a labor camp if she refused. She told them, "Master and Dafa saved my life, and I will cultivate until the end." The police then threatened her husband, but to no avail. They then talked to her son, who said, "My mother practices Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. She is the best person in the world." Then father and son drove Ms. Xiu Home. Master was in control of everything.
Once at home again, she seized the time to study and recite the Fa in order to constantly rectify herself through the Fa. Her neighbors, in their 80s, are both paralyzed and bedridden. She often helps them and tells them to say, "Falun Dafa is good" so they will be blessed.
She is also willing to help other practitioners, just as Master has told us, "The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington D.C. Fa Conference" July 2002)
She encouraged an 80-year-old practitioner who had been illegally sentenced to nine years of custody outside prison. That practitioner's son was unemployed, because his leg(s) were injured, so he picked up vegetable leaves thrown away at the marketplace in order to survive. Ms. Xiu encouraged him to study the Fa more and do away with the persecution, and she gave him some daily necessities. She also visited and helped a 90-year-old practitioner who lived alone and brought that practitioner to her home to take care of her when she was going through sickness karma.
One practitioner had six of her teeth knocked out by CCP officials. They also stabbed her private part with chopsticks in order to try to make her renounce her belief. They failed. They injected her with and force-fed her powerful drugs, which caused anemia and a mental breakdown so she could not recall what had happened to her. After she was taken home, Ms. Xiu stayed with her day and night to study the Fa with her and send righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil to help her return to the Fa.
Ms. Xiu often joins other practitioners to send righteous thoughts and actively helps with anything other practitioners need. Earlier this year, a practitioner was illegally tried. Ms. Xiu went to 610 Office on the day of the trial and sent righteous thoughts, standing outside in drizzling rain for three hours.
She also did a good job in her family. With her guidance, her husband, son, and siblings gradually began practicing Dafa. Her four-year-old granddaughter also became a practitioner. Her granddaughter loves to watch Master's lecture tapes and Shen Yun DVDs. She can recite numerous poems from Hong Yin and often kneels before Master's portrait and says, "This is my grandparents' Master, my parents' Master, my Master, and the Master of all of us." She often holds Xiu Lian's hand and says, "Let's go rescue people," and happily hands out the Minghui Weekly newsletter, pamphlets, and VCDs.
Ms. Xiu volunteered her home as a Fa study location. At first, about four practitioners studied there; later, more than ten practitioners. She would provide chairs, a couch, tea and fruit, and an air conditioner. She would save however much money she could and bring it to a Dafa materials production site and help practitioners who experienced financial difficulty.
Fulfill predestined vows and rescue people
She gets up at 3 a.m. to do the exercises and leaves home early in the morning to help people learn the facts about Falun Gong. She has visited several hundred households, streets and alleys, parks, stores, and recreational facilities. More than 1,000 people have withdrawn from the communist party after learning the truth from her. She talks to people according to what they already know and how much they are able to accept. She helped all of her friends and relatives to quit the Party. She will help anyone, whether the person is taking a stroll, resting, chatting, or playing. She smiles at them and finds a way to strike up a conversation. Then she tells them about the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident, various miracles, and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. She is so convincing with the facts that many people nod, and some thank her for telling them about it.
She has also encountered people who had so completely bought into the CCP's lies that they threatened to call the police and screamed at her. She remained calm and sent righteous thoughts, telling them that what goes around comes around, and that she hopes they will have a bright future. In the end she was able to resolve the incidents safely and also rescued those people.
Two years ago her eyes were injured during a persecution incident. They would tear when encountering light. In order to rescue people, she wore dark glasses and a hat in the summer and did not worry about the discomfort. She simply did what a Dafa disciple is supposed to do and is worthy of the title "Fa rectification period Dafa disciple." Many people say, "Here comes Falun Gong," or "Falun Dafa is good" when they see her.
She says Master is constantly protecting her, as are divine soldiers and generals, wielding long spears. In 2008 everything suddenly turned dark when she crossed the street. She heard screeching sounds of tires braking. Then she saw Falun spinning in front of her and followed the Falun across the road. On another occasion, she tripped and rolled down a staircase when delivering Dafa materials, but she was without a scratch. Sometimes when she finished talking to people and returned home, she would see Master smiling in front of her door. She says Master is encouraging her to rescue more people.
She follows Master's teachings in rescuing sentient beings with compassion, resolving old conflicts with kind thoughts, negating the old forces' arrangements, and eliminating the evil with righteous thoughts. Her eyes recovered last year, and her eyesight is also improving.
