July 14, 2010 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent in Jilin Province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Jiang Xiuyu, a Falun Gong practitioner living in Jiutai City, Jilin Province, was arrested by the local police on May 11, 2010, and taken on the same day to Majiagangzi Detention Center in Jiutai City. On the afternoon of May 26, he was taken to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp, to serve a two-year forced labor term.

After one o'clock on the afternoon of May 11, 2010, Mr. Jiang was about to go out for personal business, when several persons who claimed to be the police broke into his home. They cuffed his hands behind his back and pushed him into a vehicle. Shortly after three o'clock that same day, the vehicle returned and the police ransacked Mr. Jiang's home.

On May 12, officers from the Jiutai City Police Department approached Sun Guangsheng, a former government official, and asked him whether Mr. Jiang Xiuyu had tried to persuade him to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The police later went to Liu Yongxiang, a former CCP committee secretary of Lishu Village, and other local CCP members, and asked them the same question. The police also summoned CCP committee secretary Dong Jianguo and questioned him. They also went to the place where Mr. Jiang's son was working and living to harass him, and frightened bystanders.

On the afternoon of May 11, Mr. Jiang was transferred to Majiagangzi Detention Center in Jiutai City. He was taken to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp with a two-year forced labor term on the afternoon of May 26.

During the fifteen days he was held at the detention center, his family requested visitation multiple times, but were refused by the detention center police.

On June 7, his family went to visit him in the camp, but were denied entry by the camp police. They said it was because he had not renounced Falun Gong and was still detained in the "Strict Discipline Team."
