(Clearwisdom.net) BRISBANE, Australia-Queensland officials from all levels heralded the arrival of Shen Yun Performing Arts to Australia's third largest city.

Many tributes flowed in for the New York-based Shen Yun, which began the Oceania leg of its World Tour 2010 in Auckland on April 30.
The company presented three shows in Brisbane [June 1 and 2] at the illustrious Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre [QPAC].
Audience members world-wide, from the highest levels of society have acclaimed Shen Yun Performing Arts as it seeks to bring ancient China's divinely-inspired heritage into the 21st century.
Within its ranks, Shen Yun boasts internationally acclaimed dancers, choreographers, musicians, vocalists, and a full orchestral ensemble of classical Western and traditional Chinese instrumentalists.
Campbell Newman, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, issued a "Certificate of Appreciation" to Shen Yun, on behalf of the Queensland Multicultural Council.
The message was very elaborately scribed in a document lauding Shen Yun's "outstanding achievements and endeavours in reviving and promoting the traditional Chinese culture."
Anna Bligh, Queensland State Premier and Minister for the Arts, also praised the show that showcases classical Chinese culture.
"Here in Queensland we have a unique and long-standing relationship with the art of China," she said, referring to the Queensland Art Gallery's Chinese art collection.
Graham Quirk, Deputy Mayor, responsible for International Relations and Multicultural Affairs, "was reminded of the colour and choreography" and a variety performance designed to appeal to a wide audience of cultural backgrounds and ages.
"With backing from the highly celebrated Shen Yun Orchestra, the show will, I am sure, be of the usual high energy standard," he said.
Michael Johnson, Federal Member for Ryan, congratulated Shen Yun for "another successful tour."
"2010 marks not only the Chinese year of the Tiger, but also Shen Yun's fourth season as a ground-breaking cultural and artistic performance company," he said.
As the first Member of the Australian House of Representatives to have Chinese heritage, Mr. Johnson was "especially proud," he said.
"As a truly universal language, dance has the ability to not only entertain, but to also inspire an audience to explore the wonders of ancient cultures and traditions. Shen Yun Performing Arts undoubtedly achieves this potential."
Ted Malone, Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly and Member for Mirani, expressed his delight, noting the all new program in this year's show.
"The performances showcase traditional Chinese culture and values that Australian audiences truly connect with," he said. "I also take this opportunity to commend all involved with the concept for their foresight and initiative in identifying a project of this standing which will enhance the social, economic and cultural richness of the communities that it touches."
Queensland Senator Mark Furner also noted Shen Yun's accomplishments, thus far.
"This is an outstanding achievement and one to be celebrated ... I wish Shen Yun Performing Arts the best for your 2010 world tour and all future endeavours."
Bruce Scott, Second Deputy Speaker and Member for Maranoa, was glad to have attended a performance in past years and also gave his best wishes for the 2010 World Tour.
Sue Boyce, Senator for Queensland, in her welcome said Shen Yun had "previously been warmly received in Australia, and their blending of traditional Chinese and Western compositions and instruments offers much for Australian audiences."
Peter Slipper, Federal Member for Fisher, again sent his heartfelt congratulations.
"I again congratulate the Shen Yun Performing Arts 2010 World Tour and trust it will be a success," Mr. Slipper wrote in his message.
Well-wishes were also given by the Queensland State Members for Gympie, David Gibson; Barron River, Steve Wettenhall; and Beaudesert, Aidan McLindon.
They were also joined from around the state by Gold Coast Mayor Ron Clarke; Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale; and Brisbane City councillor Angela Owen-Taylor.
