Rhode Island, USA: Despite Interference from CCP Agents, Federal and Local Government Officials Welcome Shen Yun

June 27, 2010 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company will present two shows at the prestigious Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, on June 26-27, 2010.

Recently, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents, pretending to be Falun Gong practitioners, wrote letters to theater management, government officials, and artists who have watched Shen Yun in various countries. Providence Performing Arts Center also received emails with threatening verbiage from a CCP agent at 2:21 a.m. on June 2, 2010. The presenter of the show in Providence, the New England Falun Dafa Association, said that the case has been reported to police, and that the Shen Yun show will be presented as scheduled.

Despite the CCP interference, government officials from the state of Rhode Island wrote letters to express their warm greetings and best wishes to Shen Yun Performing Arts. Among them are Governor Donald L. Carcieri; James R. Langevin, U.S. Congressman for the Second District of Rhode Island; Sheldon Whitehouse, US Senator for Rhode Island; Jack Reed, US Senator for Rhode Island; David N. Ciciline, Mayor of the City of Providence; and Peter S. Mancini, Council President of the City of Providence.
