Government Representatives Welcome Shen Yun's Debut in Buffalo, New York (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Shea's Performing Arts Center in the city of Buffalo, New York will host the Shen Yun Performing Arts show for the first time on the evening of May 27, 2010. Government officials from the city of Buffalo and surrounding areas sent congratulations prior to the performance.

Mayor of Buffalo Byron W. Brown welcomed the arrival of Shen Yun Performing Arts, and proclaimed May 27, 2010 as "Shen Yun Performing Arts Day." He stated in the proclamation, "Through the universal language of dance and music, Shen Yun weaves stories of heavenly realms, ancient heroic legends and modern day epics."

Erie County Executive and Mayor of the City of Niagara Falls also sent proclamations to Shen Yun Performing Arts and proclaimed May 27, 2010 "Shen Yun Day."

Paul A. Dyster, Mayor of the city of Niagara Falls, stated in the proclamation, "'Shen Yun' is a tale told to enchant, but it is also a story to uplift humanity through its message of peace, virtue and harmony as shared with its audience through a creative and fascinating stage presentation."

Erie County Executive Chris Collins stated in the proclamation, "Shen Yun has been highly recognized and obtained tremendous global support and proclamation; and the debut of this world class show in Buffalo will bring a heartfelt experience to our local residents."

U.S. Member of Congress (NY-27) Brian Higgins stated in his congratulatory letter, "This master of drama impresses the audience with intense choreography and music. The plot tells of stories from ancient heroic legends as well as modern day epics. It is an inspirational story that can be enjoyed by everyone. This inspiring tale sheds light on the ancient Chinese tradition that is often forgotten due to lost heritage under Communist rule. We should consider our city lucky to be able to sit back and enjoy a festival of emotion and vigor, such as Shen Yun."

U.S. Member of Congress (NY-26) Christopher J. Lee stated, "Shen Yun's astounding reputation of presenting a unique style of dance and music is an invaluable contribution to our community." He said, "We are honored to have you here to share with us the excellence and grandeur of classical Chinese dance and music."

Amherst Town supervisor Dr. Barry Weinstein and five council members of the town board also issued a proclamation to extend their thanks to Shen Yun Performing Arts for its "contributions to preserving the Chinese cultural heritage."

Proclamations and congratulatory letters to Shen Yun were also sent by U.S. Member of Congress (NY-28) Louise M. Slaughter and Executive Chamber of the City of North Tonawanda.
