March 30, 2010 |   By a correspondent from Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Since Cao Lijun became director of the Shenbeixin District Police Department in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province in 2009, he has arrested eight Falun Gong practitioners. Five of them have been sent to forced labor camps. Some are elderly women. Just after January 15 (lunar calendar), Cao sent Ms. Pang Yujuan and Ms. Jin Yunzhi to the Shenyang Detention Center.

On the night of March 3, 2010, Wang Yadong and other officers from the Huangjia Township Police Station arrested Ms. Pang and Ms. Jin while they were distributing Falun Gong materials to villagers. At around midnight, Wang and officers from the Domestic Security Team of Shenbeixin Police Department ransacked the homes of the arrested practitioners and confiscated computers and other personal property.

Cao ordered his men to send Ms. Pang and Ms. Jin to the Shenyang Detention Center the next day. It has been reported that Cai and other officers from the Domestic Security Team of Shenbeixin Police Department were fabricating evidence in order to send them to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Pang, 67, is a retired employee of the Liaoning Geology Team. In Spring 2002, she was arrested by officers from the local police station while she distributed Falun Gong materials in Xinglongtai Town. She was detained in a forced labor camp for two years. In the Shenyang Detention Center, Ms. Pang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was released after being detained for 40 days. When Ms. Pang was arrested, her husband, who is in his seventies, was left with no one to care for him. He later suffered a brain hemorrhage, and now has difficulty talking and walking.

After her husband passed away, Ms. Jin, 61, moved in with her mother, who is in her 90's. Her mother is unable to care for herself. When Ms. Jin was arrested, her grandson happened to be at her home and must now look after his great-grandmother.
