(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Lei Xiaoqiong and Ms. Mao Xiuzhen are Falun Dafa practitioners from the Wutongqiao District in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. They were arrested on November 1, 2009, and their homes were searched. On March 2, 2010, the local court brought them to trial without notifying their family or lawyer. When the lawyer rushed to court to defend his clients, the judge, Wan Liwen, threatened the lawyer and told him, "Shut up!"

On November 1, 2009, Ms. Lei and Ms. Mao were arrested when they were clarifying the truth. Their homes were searched. The police looted their personal belongings, including computers valued at over 20,000 yuan and Falun Dafa books and materials. They also stole over 1,000 yuan in cash and a bank deposit book worth 20,000 yuan. Currently, the two women are still being held in the Wutongqiao District Detention Center. The police do not allow their families to visit them.

Ms. Lei Xiaoqiong's family hired a lawyer who knew about the truth of Falun Gong to defend her. He waited for notification from the court to go defend her. On March 2, 2010, without notifying her family or her defense lawyer, the court brought Ms. Lei to trial. The court assigned her another lawyer.

When the trial began, the defense lawyer rushed into the courtroom. He questioned the legal grounds for prosecuting the practitioners. When he asked the court to provide the relevant legal regulations, the presiding judge, Wan Liwen, threatened him and barred him from raising any questions in his courtroom. The judge prohibited the lawyer from presenting his defense, ordering him to "shut up!" He said, "(I) absolutely forbid you to say Falun Gong is good. If you continue, I won't allow you to defend your clients." Judge Wan Liwen ran roughshod over the law. Personnel from the public security bureau's prosecution department and the court collaborated to attack the defense lawyer, while the lawyer assigned by the court could not say one word in defense of his clients.

Ms. Lei Xiaoqiong and Ms. Mao Xiuzhen defended themselves in court, and the proceedings were quickly concluded.
