(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Maimei, a Falun Gong practitioner over 60 years old in the Huangbei District of Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was a medical doctor before her retirement. On the morning of January 15, 2001, she went to visit Ms. Wu Cuihua, a fellow practitioner in Gaolouqian Village of Changyanjie, Wangjiahe County. She was reported to the local police by a colleague of Ms. Wu and a local Communist Party female cadre. She was arrested by two policemen from Wangjiahe County with the last names of Wan and Xiong and the director of the local security maintenance office with the last name of Feng. They forced her to go to the detention center at the local police station, where she was detained, interrogated, and searched.

In the afternoon, the head of the Domestic Security Section of the Public Security Bureau at Huanbei district branch, Zhang Fuchu, police guard Chen, and the team leader of the domestic security division, Hu Yuqing, drove to the station and took Ms. Liu Maimei's picture against her will. Hu Yuqing attacked and abused the Falun Gong practitioners many times. He loudly cursed Ms. Liu once he saw her in the detention center.

Although Ms. Liu visited Ms. Wu for only five minutes, she was detained for five hours, from 10:00 a.m. To 3:30 p.m.

Ms. Wu Cuihua is a disabled single woman in her 50s. Because she practices Falun Gong, she has been arrested, sentenced to forced labor, and forced to attend brainwashing sessions many times. Her home has also been ransacked many times. She is still under close surveillance by local Communist Party members. She was not allowed to get in touch with anyone and does not have any personal freedom.

Ms. Liu Maimei has been persecuted by the Communist Party many times. In September 2002, she and another practitioner were arrested by a local police officer in plainclothes and a local security guard while they were putting up a poster to clarify the truth. They were persecuted in Hewan Forced Labor Camp for a year. On April, 2004, the Huangbei Women and Children's Health Center, where she used to work, cooperated with the local security office and Qianchuanjie local police station to arrest her at her office and make her attend brainwashing sessions for almost a month in Kanjiaji Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City. At about 9:00 a.m. on May 11, 2006, Hu Yuqing, Xiao Sheng, and other police officers broke into her house and arrested her. On November 15, 2009, she was arrested again.
