(Clearwisdom.net) A Chinese New Year Parade was held in Batam, Indonesia, on February 20, 2010. The Divine Land Marching Band and Waist Drum Troupe, composed of Falun Gong practitioners from Singapore, participated in the parade and won warm applause and cheers from parade spectators.

The Indonesia government has been very supportive of Chinese New Year celebrations in recent years. This grand parade was sponsored by the government of Batam and organized by Chinese community organizations. The parade traveled through the main streets in Chinatown. The Divine Land Marching Band played inspiring music including "Falun Dafa Is Great." Their music, together with the beautiful performance of the waist drum troupe, won high praise from spectators.

The head of a local college band told Falun Gong practitioners, "My boss, Ibu Sri Soedarsono, told me to learn from Falun Dafa practitioners' Divine Land Marching Band. Their costumes, instruments and skill are all perfect!" Ibu Sri Soedarsono is a entrepreneur and sister of the former president of Indonesia.

The parade ended at 7 p.m. Spectators and government officials on stage received Falun Dafa informational materials as the procession passed.
