(Clearwisdom.net) NEW YORK--Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company held its fourth of seven shows on February 14 at New York City's famed Radio City Music Hall.

"The dance is beautiful, the dancers are beautiful," said Mr. Robert Lawrence, an international real estate consultant and human rights activist, during the intermission of the evening performance.

"It's a wonderful, wonderful show," he said, adding that he was particularly moved by the dances showing suppression by the communist regime in contemporary China.

In one piece, entitled "Nothing Can Block the Divine Path," a mother and daughter who practice Falun Dafa are arrested for their belief, and face the same fate as the millions of others who follow the spiritual discipline while living in China.

"Tonight is an eye-opener for me," said Mr. Lawrence, emphasizing that he does human rights work on various issues within the United States.

Mr. Lawrence said he felt grateful that he lives in a country where he is able to see a performance like Shen Yun.

"Our founding fathers realized the importance of religious and cultural freedom, and we're at it tonight," he said.

"This is the epicenter of this cultural freedom, and how it's being expressed throughout the United States."

Speaking on the nation-wide persecution of Falun Gong, Lawrence said, "You know the last individual to do this was Hitler, and Hitler experimented with the Jewish population. We stood by and watched it," Mr. Lawrence said. "But we do, at the same time, need to warn the Chinese government that the world will not tolerate this kind of oppression, not again, not on our watch."

"I think that's the main message tonight, that's the cultural freedom, the cultural freedom that we take advantage of," he said.

Also coming to see the show was Mr. Medina, an arts teacher, and his girlfriend. They were both impressed by the show.

"Personally I loved the costumes ... and the performance," Mr. Medina said.

"It's very overwhelming."

Mr. Medina said he learned a lot about Chinese culture through the Shen Yun show, saying "This is a great way to celebrate the Lunar New Year for the Year of the Tiger!"

Mr. Medina enjoyed the classical Chinese dances and said the music, played live by the Shen Yun Touring Company Orchestra, "goes very well" with the performance.

He was impressed by the dancing "because it's just very eye-catching... and how it's animated together."
