(Clearwisdom.net)--Mr. Levine and Ms. Yeh joined the packed audience attending Friday evening's performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at the Music Center. The audience enthusiastically responded to the performance with a standing ovation.

"I thought it was an excellent show! I enjoyed the costumes. I thought they were very professional, very artistic, very creative," said Mr. Levine, a psychologist.

Mr. Levine said he learned a little more about Chinese culture from the show. He was moved by the on-going persecution of Falun Gong in China.

"I guess the point I would take home today is that there is still, unfortunately, a lot of injustice that takes place over there [in China.] They don't have as much freedom of belief as we have here in this country. Something we maybe take for granted as US citizens," he said.

Mr. Levine thought the singers were amazing, commenting on tenor, Hong Ming.

"That was extraordinary, the voice was incredible. Just phenomenal," he said.

Mr. Levine was amazed and blown away by the high caliber talent of the singing and the dancing, and said that he would absolutely come to the show again and bring his parents and friends.

Ms. Yeh, who works in real estate and is originally from Taiwan, was transcended to her days as a young girl from the stories told through dance. "This brings back all my childhood memories. All the stories we were told when I was a little girl." Ms. Yeh was moved by the performance, The Buddha's Teachings Spread Far and Wide.

Artist: 'Enlightening'

The presentation of classical Chinese dance by Shen Yun performing Arts was both enjoyable and enlightening for Ms. Shelton, a distinguished artist and former ballet dancer.

"I found the show to be very enjoyable, but also enlightening and to Chinese classical dance and Chinese culture, and it's the first time I've really ever seen anything like that. And it was a beautiful presentation, all the costumes, and I'm a dancer myself--classical ballet dancer; so I really enjoyed seeing this and found the dancers to be just excellent in their performance," enthused Ms. Shelton.

Ms. Shelton's background in art and ballet dance enhanced her appreciation of the Shen Yun performers' level and ability to dance and depict stories.

"I found them to be very high-level performers in terms of the dance aspect, but also the performing and the acting aspect," said Ms. Shelton.

Much of the spiritual essence behind classical Chinese dance has been lost under China's current totalitarian regime. It is the mission of Shen Yun to restore and revive these lost cultural art forms.

Ms. Shelton agreed with this mission and felt strongly that this art form should be allowed to continue.

"Not only just the dance and the entertainment and the aspect of it being very enjoyable, but I did see the message of, in terms of the practice of the art form and the religious art form and that it should be allowed to continue and that this group has been able to continue it," said Ms. Shelton.

One dance that Ms. Shelton found moving was the modern day piece titled, Nothing Can Block the Divine Path, where a mother and daughter are persecuted for not giving up their spiritual meditation practice of Falun Dafa, something ongoing in China today.

"I thought those were very, very moving. And certainly, enlightening to that situation," said Ms. Shelton.
