(Clearwisdom.net) The court of Zezhou County, Shanxi Province held a secret trial for Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Ruixiang on September 14, 2010. The court action was not publicized, and even Ms. Guo's family didn't learn the news until they found it out by trying different channels. Ms. Guo is still being illegally detained in the local detention center of Zezhou County.

After the court accepted the case, they gave Ms. Guo only a so-called "Letter of Indictment," without informing Ms. Guo's family. Her family didn't learn the news until after the fact, through unofficial channels. By that time, the case had already been transferred to the court. The trial was held secretively, and her family didn't have time to find a lawyer.
Before the trial, Ms. Guo's family attempted to find a lawyer, but found that most lawyers were afraid of the threats imposed on them by the Chinese Communist Party, and they dared not take the case. They all said, "We can defend you even if you committed murder, but we can't take Falun Gong cases because we may lose our jobs!" Other lawyers said, "Even if we take the case, there is no way for us to retrieve materials and evidence because the relevant government departments don't allow that. We face enormous pressure if we defend Falun Gong practitioners. In addition, the court doesn't allow us to say certain things. We can do nothing about that."
