(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Chuanchao Severely Tortured
On July 16, 2009, Mr. Zhang Chuanchao, from Jinan City, was illegally arrested. He has been tortured to near death and is currently in Qilu Hospital in Jinan City. Mr. Zhang's wife is held in a forced labor camp after being sentenced to three years.
2. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuying Arrested
At approximately 8:00 a.m. on December 29, 2009, Jia Zhiguo, a public security officer in Dawali Village, and several officers from the Dingzhou City Domestic Security Division and Yangjiazhuan Township Police Station broke into Ms. Zhao Xiuying's home. They arrested Ms. Zhao, 46 years old, and Mr. Jia Fei, who is her son and not a practitioner. They ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, two MP3 players, two USB memory sticks, a satellite dish, Dafa books, and 450 yuan in cash. Ms. Zhao is being held at Dingzhou City Police Station and Mr. Jia is at Dingzhou City Detention Center.
In July 2007, Ms. Zhao was taken to the brainwashing center in Dingzhou City and later was held at Dingzhou City Detention Center for two months.

3. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Wenjie Detained Beyond Original Sentence
Mr. Chen Wenjie, from Jiangmen City, in being held at Jiangyang Prison. His sentence has officially ended, but since he has not changed his belief, he has still not been released.
4. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information on Ms. Zou Jixiu, Ms. Ouyang Weizhi and Ms. Luan Zhuojun
Ms. Zou Jixiu, Ms. Ouyang Weizhi and Ms. Luan Zhuojun, from Hulin City, were arrested by police officers when they were distributing truth clarification materials at the 852 Farm. They were then transferred to Mudanjiang Agriculture Office Detention Center. Ms. Zou and Ms. Ouyang are still detained there. Ms. Luan was released on December 24, 2009, after having a large amount of money extorted from her.
5. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Thirteen Practitioners Arrested
On the morning of December 15, 2009, police officers arrested Ms. Ju Jianying, who works at the Environmental Protection Bureau; her husband, Mr. Han Yongzhong; Ms. Xu; Ms. Chen Zhijun; Ms. Zhang Guihong from Zhangtiange Village; Ms. Yang Shuhua; and Ms. Li Huilan from Zhangtiange Village and her mother-in-law, Ms. Yang. On December 19, they also arrested Ms. Niu Huizhen, Ms. Zhang Guixiu and Ms. Lin Shuling, all from Xingan Street Office. On December 20, police arrested Mr. Ding and his wife, Ms. Zhang, and confiscated a laptop, two printers, an electric tricycle and two DVD burners from their home.
Ms. Zhang Guihong and Ms. Li Huilan and her mother-in-law have returned home. Ms. Niu Huizhen and Ms. Zhang Guixiu are being held in Anqiu Detention Center. The others are being held in Danshan Brainwashing Center.
6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Rong Taken to Fushun Brainwashing Center
On December 10, 2009, Ms. Zhang Rong, from the Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, was taken to Fushun Brainwashing Center. She was handcuffed, her face was swollen and she had injuries to her mouth. At the brainwashing center her blood pressure rose dramatically and so did her heart rate. She was then taken to Dalian 610 Office.
7. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuyun and Ms. Li Lanying Sentenced
On November 5, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiuyun and Ms. Li Lanying, both from Chengde City, went on trial at Shuanqiao District Court in Chengde. On December 30, Ms. Wang was sentenced to five years and Ms. Li to six years in prison.
8. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shen Jiman Arrested
At 5:00 a.m. on December 20, 2009, officers from Qingyuan County Police Station and Aojiabao Police Station arrested Mr. Shen Jiman at his workplace on the Qingyuan Estate, Shenyang Railroad Bureau. Mr. Shen's situation is unknown.
9. [Yun'an City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Ruan Peiji Missing Since 2004
In April 2004, Mr. Ruan Peiji was arrested in Guangzhou City. He has not been heard of since.
10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Additional Information about the Persecution of Mr. Wang Chengzheng, Mr. Huang Jiafa and Ms. Zhu Cuizhu
On the evening of November 23, 2009, when Mr. Wang Chengzheng, 30, Mr. Huang Jiafa, 50, and Ms. Zhu Cuizhu, 30, were distributing truth clarification materials in Xinandu Farm, Yuqian Village, they were reported by Zhao Haiyang, head of the third team of the Dongfeng Team Public Security, Xinandu Farm. They were arrested and taken to Xinandu Police Station. The next day, Mr. Wang and Mr. Huang were taken to Jinghe Detention Center in Dongxihu District. On the evening of November 24, Ms. Zhu's home was ransacked by officers from the local street patrol and police station. They confiscated some of her personal belongings. Ms. Zhu was detained at Wuhan City No.1 Detention Center.
On December 9, Ms. Zhu was taken to Etouwan Brainwashing Center by Cao Bin and others from the Dongxihu Politics and Law Committee.
11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Taken to Ewenke Detention Center
On December 14, 2009, under instructions from the local 610 Office, police officers from Ewenke, Inner Mongolia, along with police officers from the Nangang District in Harbin City, arrested Ms. Gao Liping, Ms. Song Yuhong, Mr. Yan Jiguo, Ms. Zhang, and Mr. Zhang Haiming. They are all currently in the Ewenke Detention Center.
12. [Xingwen County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Liling Sentenced to Three-year Prison Term
At 3:00 p.m. on December 30, 2009, the presiding judge of Xingwen County Court, whose last name is Cao, sentenced Ms. Wang Liling to three years imprisonment. The entire process took only ten minutes.
13. [Beijing] Mr. Li Zhanjin Arrested
On the morning of December 29, 2009, Mr. Li Zhanjin, from Beijing University, was arrested by police officers at the Haidian Book Center.

14. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] The Persecution of Mr. Zhang Hu and Ms. Liu Xia
Mr. Zhang Hu, from Xinyang City, has been sentenced to a five-year prison term. He was secretly taken to Xinmi Prison in Henan Province two months ago.
On the morning of November 12, 2009, Ms. Liu Xia, from Xinyang City No. 10 Middle School, was arrested.
