September 21, 2009 |

(Clearwisdom.net) (Correspondent from Hebei Province) Since 2009, many practitioners have been arrested by the Yunhe Sub-bureau, Xinhua Sub-bureau, and other law enforcement departments in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province.

1. Practitioners Persecuted by the Yunhe Sub-bureau

In 2009, Tang Guoli and Li Yi, officers from the Yunhe Sub-bureau State Security Division in Cangzhou City, participated in the illegally arrest of Ms. Li Li, Zhang Yonghong, Chen Shumin and nine other practitioners. The police ransacked the practitioners' homes and extorted money from their relatives.

Ms. Li has been detained for more than two months. The sub-bureau authorities have refused visitors and tried to extort 20,000 yuan from her family members.

During the daytime, Ms. Zhang was forced to do hard labor and had to be a night-watcher during the evening shift. Ms. Zhang has been sentenced to a one-year term in the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on August 18, 2009, Ms. Liu Fengling and Ms. Liu Guiying were followed by the police as they talked about Falun Gong to people in the Agricultural Bank area, across from the Cangzhou City Hospital. At approximately 9:00 p.m, while on their way back to their college campus, they were arrested by officers from the Yunhe Sub-bureau. Apparently, the policemen had recognized Ms. Liu Fengling. That night, they ransacked Ms. Liu's home, confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, some of Teacher's overseas lecture books, some other Falun Gong materials and CD's.

On August 19, the two detainees were transferred to the Yunhe Detention Center. At approximately 1:00 a.m. that night, Tang Guoli led seven or eight officers from the Hunhe Sub-bureau, ransacked Ms. Liu Fengling's home and took about 4,000 yuan worth of personal property.

On the afternoon of September 2, four policemen from the Yunhe Sub-bureau followed Ms. Zuo Shuping's husband home, forced him to open the door and arrested Ms. Zuo. Afterwards, the police confiscated a computer, a copier worth more than 4,000 yuan and some other personal belongings.

On the night of September 2, more than ten policemen from the Yunhe Sub-bureau rushed into Ms. Zhao Lanjun's home and arrested her. They ransacked the place and confiscated all of her Dafa books, some truth-clarification materials, a compact disc player and exercise CD's. In the same night, the same group of officers went to Mr. Tian Jingxian' home and knocked on the door. After they realized that Mr. Tian was not at home, the officers waited outside his home. At approximately 10:30 p.m, they arrested Mr. Tian as he was entering his home.

On the afternoon of April 13, 2009, public security chief Liu Kanhua, along with officers Li Yi and Zhang Zhenhai and other officers from the Yunhe Sub-bureau, broke into college professor Ms. Liu Guilan's home and arrested her. They ransacked the place and confiscated personal belongings worth about 4,000 yuan. After the policemen left, Ms. Liu's family members discovered that the policemen had stolen their entire personal savings and checkbooks. This included a savings account with a total of 20,000 yuan from Ms. Liu's personal saving account, 34,500 yuan from her parents' savings account, 4,500 yuan from Ms. Liu's wages direct deposit account, 500 yuan from a family's petty cash jar and 20 yuan in small change, which was in a small handbag.

2. Information Regarding Practitioners Being Persecuted by the Xinhua Sub-bureau

In 2009, Huo Zhigang, assistant chief from the Xinhua Sub-bureau and Zhang Yingjie, chief from the Xinhua Sub-bureau Public Security, participated in the arrest and detention of Ms. Kang Lanying, Ms. Wang Xizhen, Mr. Shi Shaoan, Mr. Wang Junying and four other practitioners. These two policemen also extorted tens of thousands of yuan from all eight practitioners.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on April 15, Ms. Kang Lanying from Cangzhou City was arrested by police officers from the Xinhua Sub-bureau of Public Security. At approximately 6:00 a.m, policemen from the Xinhua Sub-bureau Public Security and the Xihuan Police Station, a total of more than ten officers, arrived at Ms. Kang's home. At approximately 7:00 a.m, they forced their way into her house and tried to arrest her, but the attempted arrest was resisted by her family members. The police officers then called assistant chief Huo Zhigang and several other officers for back-up. After they arrived, they forcefully took Ms. Kang to the Xinhua Sub-bureau and stole more than 5,000 yuan worth of her personal belongings. Ms. Kang has been on a hunger strike since her arrest to protest the persecution.

During her hunger strike, Ms. Kang's health appeared to be in critical condition. It was reported that she was coughing up blood. A prison guard realized the seriousness of the situation and took her to a hospital for a physical examination. The authorities still refused to release her, however.

Ms. Kang has been imprisoned for more than four months now, and she has lost a lot of weight. The staff in the Cangzhou hospital force-fed her until her nose spurted blood. The authorities from the Cangzhou City Xinhua Sub-bureau and the Cangzhou City Detention Center refused to allow her family members to visit her.

On April 15, the same group of policemen that arrested Ms. Kang went to the Cangxian County Kindergarten and attempted to arrest teacher Ms. Wang Xizhen. Their attempted arrest was resisted by the person in charge of the kindergarten. The police then exerted pressure on the local education committees. Later, the committee personnel had Ms. Wang leave the classroom. The policemen then arrested her and ransacked her home. Currently, she is serving a one-year term in the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. She appeared to be emaciated when her family members went to visit her recently.

3. Persecution in the Cangzhou City People's Hospital

Because of the long-term illegal imprisonment and torture, Ms. Tang Jianying has developed heart disease. The excruciating pain from the angina pectoris often prevents her from sleeping at night. In March 2009, even though authorities from the Cangzhou City People's Hospital knew that Ms. Tang Jianying had heart disease, they still carried out forced feeding. The forced-feeding has caused her to develop gastric hemorrhaging.

At the end of April, the hospital officials also force-fed Ms. Kang Lanying and Ms. Wang Xizhen. Ms. Kang was on a hunger strike for three months, since the very first day of her arrest. Even though Ms. Kang was on the verge of death, they still force-fed her until blood spurted out of her nose. She has lost a lot of weight and is emaciated.
